I really liked the tsukemen (flavorful dipping broth and chewy noodles), the other ramen bowls also looked very good. It's casual and cozy inside. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

Food: The ramen here is just okay. I was a bit disappointed given its good reviews. I tried the original tonkatsu jiro ramen. The broth was good but not as rich and flavorful as other ramen places. The noodles are thicker and not a great texture. I requested no bamboo shoots, but they put them in anyway I also added on a boiled egg which was very disappointing. The egg was dry, dense, and not enjoyable at all. Scallions were also a bit soggy and didn't seem fresh. The cabbage was shredded and served raw on top of the bowl of ramen. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the ramen here at all and won't be returning. Service: Staff were friendly and nice, but they don't really come to check on you at any point during the meal. Ambiance: The place is small with about 24 seats total in the whole restaurant. Smaller tables can be combined for larger groups, but it would be kind of tight. Overall, I would not recommend this ramen place.

The $10 all you can drink beer and/or sake is a must-- only need to spend another $5 on food but the deal is worth it. The ramen itself was swell and I'd get it again in a heartbeat! Sweet service. Cheers!

Got the spicy miso ramen and deluxe black garlic ramen... not bad ramen pretty decent but not the best ramen in nyc.. will come back try the tsukemen

Ambiance (4/5): The establishment is pretty small. When we arrived before 7, we were able to be immediately seated. By 7:30p, there was a line of 6 waiting to be seated. The decorations felt similar to the ramen shops in Japan. The wooden panel walls and floors gave it a rustic look and had a bar in the back. Service (2/5): The restaurant was under staffed with one guy running the floor and a backup jumping in from time-to-time. It took a while to get our orders in and took some time for our food to be provided. We had to wave down the server to get checked out. Ramen (3/5): I got the tsukemen ramen (dipping) which with was pork and fish based. The noodles were perfectly thick, chewy, and cold. The broth was concentrated and served in a piping hot stone bowl, which did well in keeping the broth warm throughout the meal. The only toppings were a few slices of bamboo shoots, green onions, and a nori. The pork charsiu was great--large cuts, a good blend of fat to meat, seasoned well, and soft. Overall, felt like the broth was a bit of a letdown and not as umami as I had hoped, comparing to other ramen shops which I preferred more. Curry Ramen: Tasted pretty standard but also nothing to write home about. The soft boiled egg (pictured) is extra. AYCD all you can drink special happy hour of beer and sake $10 for 1 hour, Friday to Sunday all day happy hour is $5 glass for beer, sake, and wine!! (with a minimum spend of $15 of food pp)

A little ramen shop on 14th St. and East Side of the Union Square area, area heaters and small wooden seats mixed with a shelf where they had a few manga books to read on your wait. The tonkotsu comes with options for cahshu or chicken, no/with garlic, and no/with pork fat. It's a good savory choice w/garlic and pork fat, came hot and was refreshing, used the medium wavy yellow ramen noodles, and add a soft-boiled egg for $2 which was seasoned well. The chashu was good, would be better grilled or use a torch to render it a bit. The spicy jiro ramen with miso and konbu was disappointing. It'd be better using the tonkatsu broth, the miso was bland and spiciness lingered. Chasu here or the fried chicken; we chose the fried chicken which was so-so, oil tasted too old. The tako wasabi was a healthy appetizer portion with seaweed and spicy - love the fresh wasabi mixed with fresh octopus. Overall, had better ramen, and was a good tako wasabi. Service was winding down (we came in close to 2:15p, which is near their break between 3-5pish?), and they left a water carafe on the table and accepted credit cards (they bring a machine to your table). Not much interaction with the staff outside of order and paying as they were relaxing between lunch and dinner rush.

After seeing Jiro-style ramen in anime, I could finally try one in NYC. Kamisama Ramen has just opened near Union Square that specializes in jiro ramen. Jiro ramen is well-known for hearty portion with a lot of bean sprouts and vegetables. The broth is more pungent and thicker than regular ramen, as extra garlic and pork fat are added. *Spicy Jiro Ramen $17** *Tonkotsu Ramen $17 I thought the flavors of jiro ramen would be too aggressive for my liking, but it turned out I enjoyed every slurp of it. The noodles were thicker which held up the broth well. I usually disliked bean sprouts but I devoured them all. They were so delicious with the broth! The pork chashu was smoky and quite tender, while my bf thought it was a little tough for his liking. Highly recommend spicy jiro ramen if you can tolerate spice. I almost drank up the whole broth. I added a soft boiled egg ($2) and it was very worth it. *Gyu Donburi $17 ** *Mentaiko Fried Rice $17 The gyudon amazed me. Even though I could make gyudon at home, they made it ten times better!! The sliced beef was marinated in a sweet and umami sauce and the rice was mixed with it. Chef's kiss. Mentaiko didn't add much flavor, but the fried rice was good to pair with other appetizers. *Karaage $10 * *Takoyaki $9 The karaage came with spicy mayo and yuzu sauce. The meat was juicy and tasted good with both dips. Takoyaki lived up to my expectation and each piece had a bouncy squid inside. Pro tip: they currently offer 10% off for students. Check out their ig for the coupon.

Jiro Ramen is my all time favorite with rice broth, thick noodle and garlic flavor. I usually go to another place for jiro ramen, when i see this new place I was excited to want to try. I had the Spicy Jiro ramen $17 for a good portion, with some toppings , but no egg and some bean sprouts on top. i was expecting a lot more topping that's usually what Jiro ramen is famous for. the broth is not as thick as it supposed to be and not extra fat either which was a little let down. their spicy level is a little high even i like spicy but i think it's to the point is not really enjoyable. noodle does not have the chewy texture feels a bit overcooked. the best part of the whole bowl is the chashu pork, it's very tender and thick. wish they torched a little bit to give a bit burnt and smoky flavor Overall the ramen is ok. it's conveniently located near union square. i would come back for convenience but probably will travel extra for a better option.

We decided to try this ramen place out since it specializes in Jiro style ramen, which is basically a heavier broth. There was only a 10 minute wait so we decided to go for it! The place is informal and there were alot of students, which make sense since they give students 10% off an already inexpensively priced menu. Our waiter was all business and was moving and grooving. Not the most comfortable seating especially with winter coats but they do have coat hangers. We decided to share their pork gyozas. They were good but nothing special. They tasted like the way I make them when I am home. Not sure if they're homemade though. Mine are definitely not, lol The soups were perfect for NYC's 32 degree weather! Tony ordered their Tonkotsu Ramen which came with bean sprouts, cabbage, scallion, bamboo shoots, nori and fresh garlic. He passed on the pork fat. He initially ordered it w/ chicken but they brought pork. The restaurant was willing to change it but he decided to stick with it. I went with their Deluxe Tonkotus Black Garlic w/ chicken which came with soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots, bean sprouts, scallions, nori, pork fat and fresh garlic. I tasted his broth since he declined the pork fat and it tasted almost the same as mine. They were out of all the ramune flavors for soda so I went with some club soda which came in a can. I love when I can get the can over fountain as it's more bubbly. The only reason why I drink it. Tony washed his meal down a/ a Sapporo. He realized after he finished his drink, there was a crack in the glass (pictured) which if he drank even a tiny piece of it, could cause a health issue. He let the restaurant know and they apologized for it. I'd come back here just not w/ all the winter wear and a smaller purse. Seating is tight! I watched people constantly push their bag/ coats nearer to them to be considerate of the eating neighbor sitting next to them.

Hit up this newly opened cozy ramen & izakaya, @kamisamaramen_ny for some killer ramen and chill vibes. The food hit the spot like their signature Spicy, Tonkotsu and Shoyu Jiro Ramen. The broth is rich and creamy filled with the good stuffs. Also available Donburi Rice Bowl with selections like Gyu (Beef) featured here, Karage, Mackerel and Mapo Tofu. As for Appetizers, we ordered Takoyaki (Octopus Balls) and Gyoza. They are all very tasty. This ramen place definitely got the vibe and flavor. A solid pick for your next night out.

Pretty good ramen at fair prices. The ramen was solid with its flavor, I've had better but the portions were good to offset. The service was fine and the restaurant is a nice space. The sneaky recommendation is their agadashi tofu- awesome portion and the key is their tofu pieces are smaller versus 4 big pieces. The sauce had a lot of flavor and was fried perfectly.

Came here for dinner - no reservations required. We were promptly seated and ordered a donburi bowl and fried chicken ramen. The rice bowl was perfectly seasoned and the fried chicken was so crispy. Great service and delicious food!

A pretty decent tonkotsu ramen in the East Village. The noodles are a bit more tangy and hard than normal - which I think could be a good thing. The broth is quite rich although doesn't seem as 'real' as other tonkotsu in the sense that it is a bit too aggressive. The meat is pretty decent though with good tenderness and good amount of fattiness. Overall seems like a pretty good new ramen place, looking forward to try the other broths.

Seems like they are also know for their cocktails but I wasn't able to partake since I wasn't feel too well from traveling~opted for plain tapped water! This one is located in NYC Manhattan 36th street. It's not very noticeable but has large door with its name on it. Inside is small space with bar counter, table and seats and kitchen at the end with dim lighting with pop music. We made a reservation but looks was it wasn't too busy since it had just opened at 11:45am. We were quickly sat down and looked through the menu with scan code. They offer variety of Japanese and fusion dish like tebasaki chicken wings, buns, rice ball, and few noodle dish like hiyashi chuuka cold noodle, ramen, tsukemen, and mazemen. We ordered few appetizers like chashu rice ball, mushroom buns, and i got spicy tan tan ramen and my partner got the miso ginger ramen. Chashu rice ball came with chashu, sauce, rice wrapped with nori. It's more like a sushi roll than a rice ball but it was ok. The pork was a bit dry and was messy to eat. Although it has omikuji/fortune slip inside that you pull out which is a unexpected fun addition to the dish. I ended up getting daikichi which means great luck. Mushroom buns were fluffy, flavorful and tasty despite vegetarian option. The spicy tan ramen was spicy, creamy and savory. The ramen came with half egg, few slices of chashu, menma, ground pork with spicy miso which you mix together. The broth is combination of rich, spicy and creamy and pretty strong sesame flavor. Noodles are thicker and chewer than what i'm used to. Chashu was nice and tender. menma was ok not very flavorful. Overall a solid ramen but not particularly special. I honestly prefer ichiran better. Service was good and staffs were attentive Overall a good experience but it didn't stand out enough for me to come back. Cool place and maybe nice for dates or if you want to drink as well. Price is definitely on the higher side for ramen. I've had ramen in Japan and my standard is high but i can find similar type of restaurant that is cheaper closer to home in US.

The interaction felt dismissive and unwelcoming, which made the overall dining experience uncomfortable. Customer service matters just as much as the food, and sadly this visit fell short.
