3 Piece Fish 'N Chips. 5 Piece Cajun 'N Chips. Bowl of White chowder

Came here on a whim and forgot how charming this place is. Everything's the same and you can't go wrong with the basics- a bowl of chowder with fish and chips. Staff is super sweet and make you feel at home.

The food was fresh and delicious. The service was great. This location doesn't has a Drive-Thru window. There are plenty of parking.

I live in California so I don't get Ivar's very often. Seems that most places serve beer battered fish....sorry but the smell of hot beer turns my stomach. I had the cod and fries with a solo clams. The food was served quick and hot. The fish was mild, no fishy taste. The clams were seeet and crispy. Alyssa took our order, she was friendly and professional!!! Hope to be back soon.

4piece 4 Piece Fish 'N Chips and Smoked Salmon Chowder

The staff were very friendly and very polite. Especially the young man who served us. The 4 piece cod fish chips were delicious. Fries were crispy and tasty. Both were very fresh! The Salmon chowder had one tiny bit of salmon and was mostly potatoes. Also a tad too salty for me. Would have given 5 stars without the chowder.

Takeout during Covid. Ordered a variety of things here: mixed seafood basket ($9.65), shrimp basket ($10.65), grilled salmon plate ($13.25). I'd definitely go for the fried foods here. Fried oysters were my favorite, nice and crispy. Fries were standard. Unfortunately I thought the grilled salmon was super dry :( the rice was great, it tasted like the Uncle Ben's microwaveable Wild Rice which I love. Food was ready fast!

This place hit the spot. We've eaten here once at the restaurant so this was the first time we ordered through UberEats. I had the clams and chips. The oil they cooked the clams, fish, and chips was so clean! We were pleasantly surprised. The clams had a good crunch and wasn't overly chewy. The chips were great. Lots of meat in them and again very clean. The clam chowder was also good. It was creamy and thick and they included saltine crackers with them. Well definitely be ordering that again. Their cornbread was so good!! It had moisture and was soft and fluffy! I'll definitely order that again!

Great service and the fried scallops were delicious and perfectly crispy. I highly recommend trying this particular ivars since the seafood seems more fresh than other locations. Most likely faster turn around on their inventory.

The Classic Cod Fish 'N Chips. I love their tarter sauce. You can even sub the fries for onion rings. But love it all.

Ivar's Fish & Chip has been around for many decades. I have not found any fish & chip establishment that compares. There are others that are very good, but doesn't come close to Ivar's. I'm so happy that there are so many around the Washington State. I am especially happy that there is one close to my house. The staff at the Kent Ivar's are so nice. Their menu has so many great options, it is so hard to choose from. My favorite is a 5 piece fish & chip. I also enjoy their Caesar salad, Halibut, onion rings and etc. Shout out to 2 amazing people at the Kent location, they are awesome with their customer service, and they have a great personality. Lead Joyce, and General Manager Harouna always makes me, my friends and family feel welcomed and comfortable. The atmosphere happy when I come in. They honor Senior Citizens prices and punch card benefits.

Always loved Ivars, only four stars due to long wait times. But that's only when they are busy.

Perfectly meaty, salty and crispy. I personally like a thick batter as long as it's good and I very much enjoyed this one! Now, they close at 7 but was able to call in an order at 6:30 and pick it up just before close. When I called, they said they are happy to accommodate late orders (as his flight was delayed) but the kitchen appreciates a minimum of 30 mins before closing to ensure the best possible quality and be able to close the kitchen in a timely manner. Absolutely understandable and respected. They know what they are doing. As always going in to pick up my order was a pleasure as everyone is always happy, relaxed and happy to help you have your best experience. Everything is so neat and tidy!! We got 4 orders of Cod and Chips, a salad, and and extra cod piece plus an order of shrimp tacos... and when I tell you everything was still crisp and piping hot after making the 20min drive back home, it absolutely blew my mind! Everything was hot and delicious, not quite sure how they were able to accomplish that but I'm certainly glad they did. This is forever my go to for hot fresh fish and chips in the greater Seattle area!! Go check them out!!

Walking into Crawfish Chef, you immediately get that casual, no-frills Cajun seafood boil…read moreatmosphere--nothing overly fancy, but lively and inviting in a way that tells you the focus here is all about the food. The space is simple and functional, with wooden tables, a laid-back setup, and that unmistakable energy of people ready to dig into messy, hands-on seafood boils. It's the kind of place where gloves, napkins, and cracking shells are all part of the experience, and that authenticity adds to the charm. The star of the visit was Combo #6, a generous spread that comes loaded with 1 lb of mussels, 1 lb of snow crab, 1 lb of shrimp, along with potatoes and corn. On paper, it sounds like a seafood feast--and visually, it absolutely delivers when it hits the table, drenched in their signature house special sauce. Starting with the mussels, they soak up the sauce beautifully. Each bite is juicy and briny, with that ocean flavor amplified by the rich, garlicky, buttery kick of the house sauce. The seasoning doesn't just sit on the surface--it seeps into every shell, making each bite bold and satisfying. The snow crab is easily one of the highlights. The meat is tender, slightly sweet, and pulls cleanly from the shell. Paired with the house sauce, it hits that perfect balance between natural seafood sweetness and spicy, savory richness. It's messy, indulgent, and exactly what you want from a Cajun-style boil. The shrimp are equally impressive--plump, well-cooked, and easy to peel. They carry the sauce exceptionally well, giving you that full punch of flavor in every bite without being overpowered. The texture is spot-on, not rubbery or overdone, which can sometimes be a gamble with seafood boils. Even the sides--potatoes and corn--deserve recognition. They might seem like fillers, but here they act as flavor sponges, absorbing all that seasoned sauce and delivering surprisingly satisfying bites in between the seafood. They help round out the meal and keep it from feeling one-dimensional. What really ties everything together is that house special sauce. It's rich, garlicky, buttery, slightly spicy, and deeply flavorful--arguably the backbone of the entire experience. It's the kind of sauce that makes you want extra bread or rice just to soak up every last drop, and it's consistently praised as a standout feature of the restaurant. That said, while the flavors are undeniably strong, the biggest drawback comes down to value. Combo #6 sits at a noticeably high price point (around the mid-$90 range), and while the quality and taste are there, the portion doesn't quite feel like it fully justifies the cost. You get a good spread, but not an overwhelming one--especially if you're sharing or expecting a truly massive boil for that price. It leans more toward a "treat yourself" meal rather than something you'd regularly order without thinking twice. Some diners have also noted that prices have crept up over time while portions haven't significantly increased, reinforcing that slight mismatch between cost and quantity. Overall, Crawfish Chef delivers where it matters most--flavor. Combo #6 is rich, satisfying, and packed with well-seasoned seafood that keeps you reaching for the next bite. The house sauce alone makes it memorable. However, the higher price tag makes it feel more like an occasional indulgence rather than a go-to value meal. If you're craving a flavorful, hands-on seafood boil experience in Kent, it absolutely hits the spot--but just be prepared to pay a bit more than you might expect for the amount you get.
