    Carrot cake

The food was good. Absolutely no negatives. The service was good. Our server answered our questions, was super friendly and professional. Appreciate her. The WOW factors of this place : 1) the building used to be a chapel of a funeral home with some of the building features remaining, 2) the carrot cake-WOW! 3) located in downtown Wheaton. Fun & convenient location.

We've been back a few times; and everything is just as good as always. Have tried several different dishes and always happy. Review below still holds.

I read about this restaurant and I was curious about its history of being a catholic chapel. The decor is great because it remains rustic and elegant. The space is airy because Roger it's high ceilings. The food is amazing. We had the captured flat bread and shared the beef bourguignon, perfect for 2 people. Wine was priced. Great option for couples, families etc. I will definitely go back.

Service was very attentive and only to be surpassed by the food quality being fantastic. Great food presentation and even better food taste. A+++. Our waiter Sammy had really great recommendations for our food selections.

Not sure why there are bad reviews. Everything we ate yesterday was delicious and our server was very prompt

Dick the owner gave me a call after my review went up. I was hesitant, however, my wife wanted to give it a chance. I'm glad we did. The setting on the main floor was romantic. My wife and I both got the 8oz filet. Mine was cooked medium rare. It was delicious and not gray. Our server was great. We did have the bread pudding for dessert and it was delicious. I'm glad we gave it another chance. My recommendation is, if you are unhappy, talk to someone. I'm not a guy that complains at the time. I usually stew on it. Plus I don't want to be a Karen. Anyways, check the place out.

Cool concept of a restaurant that used to be a church. The decor was nice and really felt like the inside of an old church! Our service was nice and quick. We ordered the fish fry special, which was a delicious light battered cod. The wedge salad was also tasty. My peppercorn filet bites off the appetizer menu though was not great quality and cooked way too done, even though I asked for medium rare. The complementary bread was a nice warm touch with honey butter. It also was interesting that the restaurant seemed to be a nicer spot yet the sauces and dressings came in plastic containers. Other than that the place wasn't a bad find in downtown Wheaton!

Perfect Pear Martini And Beyond Burger

Could be the nicest place to eat in Wheaton, and for sure has to be the most expensive. Ivy Restaurant is a pretty classy yet casual place that has a pretty big menu. Mostly it's burgers and steaks, but there's also a few things for vegetarians. Has some pretty well crafted cocktails. The prices are expectedly high but not outrageous. After looking for a place around here that was a little nicer than usual bars and stuff, we came here. It wasn't that busy and we got a table. The dining room is pretty big, and there's private rooms upstairs. Got cocktails. It's about $14 for a typical one. The Perfect Pear Martini is exactly as it sounds. Easy to knock it back, but also strong enough for a good buzz. This was made with elderflower, lemon, muddled pears, pear vodka, and simple syrup. Each of us got the Beyond Burger. It's expensive at $17 but you get a lot. The burger was big and thick. For as expensive as this place is, we may be hesitant to come back but it's good enough to go another time when wanting to get something classy and good. It's for sure the nicest restaurant in town. They may have lots of meats, but there's something for vegans and vegetarians.

My mother and I stopped by Ivy after a shopping trip to Wheaton, and we were so glad we did! This was our first time really exploring Wheaton's restaurant scene, and Ivy made it unforgettable. The ambience alone is worth the visit--set in an old funerary chapel, the restaurant has a cozy yet striking feel, with beautiful stained glass at the back that makes it even more inviting. We each started with a drink--I went with a whiskey sour, while my mom enjoyed a glass of Château Le Freynelle Bordeaux Blanc. Both were excellent and set a perfect tone for the meal. Our waiter was attentive and helpful, making sure we were all set for each course. For an appetizer, we ordered the Almond Encrusted Brie, and it was fabulous. On a chilly day, the warm brie with crusty toast points was exactly what we needed. It came with a nice serving of mixed greens and a berry jam that was just the right balance of sweet and tart--a delicious way to start. For our main courses, my mom chose the Butternut Squash Ravioli, and I went with the 8 oz. Center-Cut Filet. My mom loved her ravioli, especially with the blue cheese topping, which wasn't heavy but brought out the fall flavors beautifully. My steak, topped with blue cheese as well, was cooked to a perfect medium-rare. It came with a hearty baked potato and asparagus, exactly what I wanted on a brisk day. We finished with the Flourless Chocolate Cake and Vanilla Bean Gelato--both absolutely delicious! The cake was moist, not overly sweet, and paired perfectly with the creamy vanilla bean gelato. I'm a big dessert fan, and this definitely met my standards. Overall, Ivy is a gem! The service was excellent, the food memorable, and the atmosphere fun and unique. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Wheaton.

    Any reports of illness?

I have never heard any reports of illness. I have heard only great reviews.

Saw a prime rib pic. But didn't see it on the menu. They don't have it?

It was a special one evening. Not sure it's a regular menu item.

Are any of your meat kosher or halal? Also, what farm is the filet mignon from?

    How is the happy hour?

Average. No special deals and the bartender really seems to disdain any of us here for an inexpensive treat.
