I think this could have been amazing, but it ended up being a disappointment. I got the Nutella crepe, and it would have been balanced with a little cream. Unfortunately, when they packed everything, they put two containers of whipped cream inside of the box on top of the hot crepe. Then they sealed the box in a plastic bag. The result was melted cream that couldn't be eaten, leaving the crepe to taste like pure Nutella, without anything to balance. read more

The food was delicious. I am foodie and was very impressed with the quality. I went there with my boyfriend and he loved it too. We ate dinner there two days in a row and breakfast as well. The French dip melted in my mouth. Tender roast beef, stretchy cheese, and deep flavorful jus means I'll have a hard time going back to any other French dip ever again. Oh, and the bread! Crispy, delicious, and fresh from an acclaimed local bakery, Ayu Bakehouse. Don't skip the coffee either. Some of the best espresso I've had in the city. Ambience was perfect for a lovely, intimate Friday night date with my fiancé, and our server Ji was really kind. Our only issue with our experience there is that the YouTube holiday playlist they had on was pretty clearly some AI slop -- just mangled versions of Frank Sinatra holiday classics. Izzat has become my new favorite restaurant! I love the omelets and the Eggs Sardou. The Croque Mademoiselle is a yummy vegetarian sandwich. My friend loved her mussels in white wine broth. Yummy fries! Vegetarian and gluten-free items are labeled on the menu. Great for brunch, lunch, or dinner! The service is friendly. I like the outdoor seating but inside is cute, too! read more

What a wonderful meal. As well as being a small comfortable restaurant, with a wait staff the accommodated our every request, the meal was the best so far in New Orleans, ever. I had the grilled Salmon and my wife had the savory ham and cheese crepe. Both were delicious. Izzat will be in my top three list of restaurants in New Orleans. read more

I had walked by the restaurant many times and wanted to try while we were visiting, and we were not disappointed. There were 9 of us, and they gave us the back room. They took great care to tell us what the best dishes or recommendations since it was our first time. The accommodations were amazing and the took such great care of us. Everyone had something different: the Salmon was amazing, french dip amazing, crepes amazing, it was all so tasty and delicious. The owner even came back to check on us. I highly recommend if you are visiting this is a must visit or if you're a local I am sure it will become a favorite. read more

We did not feel comfortable when they tried to squeeze us into a super small corner in the back (two super small tables cobbled together - definitely not enough room for our party of 5) even though there was a larger table in the front and we had a reservation. I was a little disappointed that there was a party of 6 or 7 (at a much larger table that sat 8) had just paid and was about to leave, but the staff didn't offer that table, with a "would you mind waiting a few minutes" comment. I was super excited about trying this place out, but it wasn't meant to be. Not particularly a fault issue, but it did feel like there were alternatives that were not explored, so we didn't exactly feel welcomed. read more

This place had reservations available last minute on a Saturday night in the French quarter during jazz fest so we went. And it was such a pleasant surprise! It's tiny but efficient with sweet smiley wait staff and a straightforward "accessible" French menu. Bonus: full bar! We ordered Negronis while waiting (not very long) for our starter salad (so fresh and dressed just right), steak fritte and grilled salmon. The steak was ribeye cooked to perfection and came with a light flavorful au jus; shoestring fries were excellent. The salmon and mashies went down smoove. The kitchen was closing but they made us a banana crepe anyway and we also ordered the chocolate mousse cake that was insanely delicious. My only criticism was that the espresso and tea was delivered and drunk before dessert was served. We loved it so much I dreamed about it all night and returned for dinner again the next night. We felt so lucky to find this place before it gets discovered and is no longer easy to get a rezzy. Btw second night we had a monte cristo and croque madame, and once again we were very impressed. The proprietress came around to all tables and was so welcoming. We will definitely be back next time we hit NOLA (and won't be surprised if they've moved to a bigger location by then)! read more

We were on our way to eat elsewhere in the French Quarter, when we ran into friends who had just eaten at Izzat. After they raved about it, we decided to change our plans and eat there instead. Wow!! The food was fantastic! I loved their healthier, tastier take on the monte cristo sandwich and the salad. We really wanted to like this place. We had heard lots of good things about it. The people are very nice. The ham and cheese crêpe was more like a pancake. So thick. Not a crêpe. Looked nothing like their picture. The egg combo was a big mess on the plate with cream spinach. Not very appetizing. We thought the Lyonnaise potatoes were a bit greasy. We visited Izzat yesterday for breakfast and it was an absolute standout. I had the banana and cream crepe, which was perfectly made and genuinely one of the best I've had. Ava's oats were delicious and comforting, and Lee's avocado on toast alongside a banana and Nutella crepe was just as impressive. Every dish was spot on -- fresh, flavourful, and beautifully prepared. The service was equally excellent -- friendly, attentive, and welcoming without being overbearing. It really made the whole experience even better. What makes Izzat even more of a gem is how it compares to other nearby spots. Just up the road, there was a huge queue outside Ruby Slipper, but honestly, you're far better off heading straight to Izzat. No waiting around, and the food is on another level. We actually tried Ruby Slipper the next day (even with a booking), and it was a completely different experience -- long delays, we weren't seated, and the hostess was quite rude. A stark contrast. We enjoyed Izzat so much that we've already booked to go back for dinner, which says everything. If you're in New Orleans and want a fantastic breakfast without the hassle, Izzat is the place to go. If you're craving the best French dip sandwich, you gotta come here! Izzat is a cute and cozy little bistro decorated with blue and white. The decor reminded me of France, and the menu had great French highlight dishes. When we entered, the servers were super attentive and sweet. We got seated in no time, and all our food came out quickly. We started with some hot lattes and then split the French dip and the house salad. The French dip was SO GOOD! The bread was crisp and buttery with a good char, and the steak was super tender and flavorful with the au jus. There was a good amount of cheese and onion in the sandwich too. Whenever I visit a French restaurant, I always want to order a fish dish, so I chose the Fish Meunière, and it was absolutely wonderful. The onion soup and even the salad dressing were excellent as well. The French dip had perfectly moist bread, and the filling was, of course, flawless. If you're ever in New Orleans, you'd have to come try Izzat! Just one street over Canal, they recently open this place a couple of months ago and we had a pleasure to dine with them for brunch! We got the French Onion Sandwich, French Omelet, and Banana & Creame Crepe! Everything was amazing! The Omelet was so soft and fluffy The French Onion Sandwich was very flavorful, the chef really balance the flavors very well, nothing overpowering the other! I ordered the mussels because I knew how much my wife loves them and she demanded we cancel our reservation at a well known steak house tonight so we can go back again for dinner. The cafe is at 407 Iberville, just a stone's throw away from Canal Place near the heart of the French Quarter. The sourdough bread is exquisite and locally sourced. Pricing is extremely affordable compared to other local options while the quality is 5-star level. The chefs are classically trained and you can taste it in the food! Let me tell you something. This french dip is other-worldly good. It's not a normal sandwich. Other sandwiches would be lucky to be a crumb falling from the plate of this french dip. The bread was surprisingly soft, melty and flavorful; the roast beef was tender and perfect.....I could go on. As a 49 year old it's hard to say what is the "best sandwich" I've ever had, so I'll just say that I've NEVER had a better one!! PS- the salad with HOMEMADE balsamic vinaigrette is, not surprisingly, other-worldly good as well!!!! Fun street-side atmosphere, and the server was super-attentive and personable. We had such a wonderful experience at Izzat New Orleans! We went for dinner and loved it so much that we came back for breakfast the next morning! The service was some of the friendliest and most amazing we've had--everyone made us feel so welcome and taken care of. The French onion soup was absolutely the best, the Bloody Mary was perfect, and the crème brûlée was the perfect sweet ending to dinner. For breakfast, the Farmers Fold omelette was delicious and the café mocha was amazing. Everything was outstanding, and we will definitely be back again before we head home. In a town filled with great food, does it tell you something when we had breakfast *and* dinner at Izzat? Yes, it's *that* good. We were delighted when we found no line out front (although, maybe this review will change that?) when we arrived for breakfast (same for dinner). Me and a friend came here for a quick brunch, and we sat in the outside seating since the weather was nice. Our server was very sweet and the food was great! Not sure where they source their bread from, but it was SO yummy (especially the sourdough). The flavors of everything we tasted were simple, but tastefully paired. Izzat provides wonderful, friendly service and great food. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating. We were staying at a nearby hotel and IZZAT became our go-to place for breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed their sandwiches, the spinach and artichoke crepe, the french toast and a creme brulee. All were wonderful. The espresso as well as pinot noir and chardonnay wines were also very good. Christmas eve wandering led my family here. The French Onion was great. The Monte Cristo and salad was delicious. We also enjoyed the French dip. The Creme Brulee was not fully set but delicious. I've been to Izzat several times now, and I've honestly never had a dish I didn't enjoy. The food is consistently great. The French dip is a must, the steak and frites were cooked perfectly, and even the salmon was spot on. I keep coming back because everything is just done right. So good! We ordered this for pick up and brought it back to our hotel. My husband got the Monte Cristo and I got the Croque Monsieur and boyyyy was it amazing. We were looking for something not super heavy after a ton of fried food. We got the Brussels with sweet chili and YUM! This beautiful, relaxing space shares her belief that welcome and activism can work hand in hand to create a unique dining experience. It starts with the entry into this former warehouse, one of the hundreds that give this part of the Crescent City its name. What was once a dark, dank passage is now an inspirational tunnel of light that promises a warm only-at-Vyonne's reception and has become such a focal point that the now-required social media photos of any high quality restaurant experience are (in Vyonne's case) taken there. The tunnel of light opens into the very large courtyard which was the place to be on a sensually warm New Orleans spring evening. Dr. Vyonne gave my companion and I a tour of the restaurant's two levels and while the interior design was French-influenced, her deepest inspiration is women rising throughout the world as so much of the art on Vyonne's walls celebrates women from the culture bearers of the New Orleans to Nobel laureate Maria Corina Machado whose Oslo ceremony Dr. Vyonne attended. Vyonne's makes social, cultural, and political advocacy grown and sexy! We sat inside to be among the decor and decided it was time to partake in the establishment's faire. Drinks commenced with stunningly beautiful cocktails: an espresso martini for her and a strawberry-infused lemon drop for me.. Our server (so sorry I forgot her name but she was absolutely lovely and as convivial as our host) was also our mixologist and our drinks were perfectly proportioned, masterfully blended, and properly chilled. We then opened with the crawfish begniets. Now these are not the traditional begnets drenched in powdered sugar with which one would associate with New Orleans. This was a somewhat denser, more savory pastry that paired well with the crawfish sauce ladled atop. Very flavorful and filling. The begniets paired with the Cheux de Bruxelles: Fried Brussel Sprouts with goat cheese and drizzled with bacon-infused vinegrette. Their being fried actually made Brussel sprouts appealing to me and I can't say no to goat cheese. Another hit for Vyonne's. We proceeded to our respective main courses: for her a pasta dish with Broccoli rabe that just carried so many subtle flavors of grain, vegetable, oils and seasonings but is not currently on the menu. I had the Crevette, les pates, and ecrevisse: Shrimp and Crawfish over fresh pappardelle pasta topped with butter cream sauce, garlic, leeks and finished with aged white cheddar cheese and basil. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I should have kept it at the appetizers but it was quite a decadent dish on which one should splurge when visiting Vyonne's, and I had promised myself I would take a real swing at the menu. Thankfully I was able to bring the food home with me and it travelled very well even with my having to attend a television taping and held up even better the next morning. Of course, we posed for our own photos in the tunnel. New Orleans is place known for legendary eateries that have operated for decades and even over a century. Commander's , Antoine's, Galatoire's, Muriel's, Herbsaint, August, the list is endless. It's why people come to New Orleans. It will take some time, but I believe Vyonne's can join that list of legendary New Orleans places for which people will hop aircraft to experience. And Dr. Vyonne will be there ready to welcome you as she welcomed me. Vyonne's is where you come as a customer and leave as family. As I cannot wait to return to my spiritual home of New Orleans, I can't wait to visit Dr. Vyonne again and keep working my way through the menu. Go see the doc and she will take great care of you. Vyonne's is a must.
