What is there to say that hasn't been said about this place? I absolutely adore this spot!! Izzi is a Korean restaurant filled with all sorts of traditional Korean street foods. From the moment you enter, you are greeted with Asian chips, drinks, and other convenience store items to really lean into this casual environment. But the casual look does not make the place any less cleaner, pleasing to look at, and comfortable. There's a good amount of seating and comfortable ones at that. I've gone three times since trying it out the first time. And each time, I've tried a new menu item. Everything I've had is out of this world for me. -The Izzi box is big and filling, and that bulgogi is to die for. Well seasoned, and great portion of it. Their japchae is also a slightly sweet, pleasant accompaniment. The rice and tempura are perfectly cooked as well. -The bimbambap? Stunning. It comes in a stone bowl, hot and still cooking and filled to the brim with fresh veggies and rice. One look at the picture and I'm drooling. -Finally, the cheese tteokbokki? My dish to share of choice. It's spicy, flavorful, and the cheese on top balances the whole thing out. I love this spot and rave about it to everyone who likes Korean food. The only warning I provide is that it's very self-service. You collect your food from the counter once it's ready and you also have to collect your utensils, drink, and plates. No real interaction here. We were there around 2pm and there was hardly anyone there. The ambiance of this place is very cute and trendy! You order off a touch screen so you don't have to feel rushed to order and they really do have such a wide variety of options. I enjoyed their complimentary kimchi soup and found my onigiri to be tasty. My bento box was really large and was a great amount of food for the price but my only thing was that the pork katsu was really dry and there was not enough sauce to save it. The tofu bento box was good- pretty standard. Fried tofu, rice, veggies. There were a good a variety of other options as well such as rice bowls and bento boxes which others in my party had, and enjoyed. They also have free kimchi soup/ fish cake soup which you can serve yourself. Nice added touch! This is not a full service restaurant. It's a pretty diverse menu of a few traditional Korean dishes like short ribs (kalbi), street foods including hotdogs, and some Asian fusion. Man, this place LOOKS legit. I had really high hopes. It seemed to have so much going for it. I was wrong. I'd describe this as "Tourist Korean". The spicy pork bugolgi was very mild, no spicy peppers. Tasted like little gochujang was used. The kimchi was spicier (and had to be ordered as a side did not come with the bento). The japchae was very bland and dry. It was in a little puck that tasted like it was pre-made and frozen. Not fresh, no veggies at all. And the chopsticks were super cheap. Like balsa wood. Overall, I had a great experience here with both the service, ambiance, and food. They used to be a KBBQ place, but recently switched over to Korean Street Food, and I love it! Korean Street food is some of my favorite foods. Their crispy sweet & spicy Korean Chicken is hands down the BEST thing on their menu. Every single piece you bite into has an insaaaane crunch sound. The Galbi was super flavorful yet tender. The Bulgogi Burger was pretty damn big, but also quality! I think if they added a little less coleslaw it was be a hit. I will say one thing I never understood from their menu is why coat the hot dogs in sugar? I understand the sweet & savory aspect, but I felt like it was just drowned in sugar. I would recommend you ask not to get any sugar at all on it, because otherwise it's a great item too! As for the store itself, I love the facelift it got. Stepping inside and seeing the giant squid games inspired signage in the back made me giggle, but in a good way. I love it! I also love how there's 2 self serve kiosks near the door for those who have a bit of anxiety like myself. One of my go to places if I'm around the Florida mall area. I was skeptical at first with the prices, but the portions were great and they have complementary self-serve soup. Kimchi and fish soup was available at that time. The chicken was crispy and crunchy like most Korean fried chicken, but bigger than most places. They have a lot of street food like their hotdogs but with fishcake instead of corn dogs. It has a sweet and savory appeal to it. My favorite is the mozzarella dog, lots of cheese! Overall a 4.5 stars!!! I'm a little scared to write this review because I enjoyed coming into the restaurant and it not being full... lol. When you walk in, you'll notice they have Korean goodies on shelves for sale (snacks, instant foods, even some home items like cups, shirts, other merch, etc). It's trendy and cute inside at first glance, like a hangout spot I'd go to in college to do work by myself or eat with my friends. That was a roundabout way to say it's casual, but I hope you get what I mean if you go. You order and pay at a smart screen tablet, and seat yourself. They call out your name and order number when your food is ready. The utensils, napkins, condiments, bags, boxes, etc are all available to you next to the counter where you pick up your food. They may give you your order in portions instead of all at once. Oh, and it's self serve water in cups as well, like most Asian food cafeterias. The food is classic Korean snack/street/comfort food, with some other choices thrown in. Because of this, you don't wait long for your order at all. The flavors were just as expected- great and killed my cravings!! I recommend the potato hot dog, sotteok, and any tteokbokki dish. Their bibimbap did not have as many vegetables as I am used to so I didn't enjoy it- but if you like your bibimbap meat and rice heavy, go for it, and ask for extra sauce. I would have gotten a ramen dish but I thought about it too hard and realized I could make it myself at home (makes you rethink the prices). You clean up after yourself by depositing your trash and dishes in marked areas. The -0.5 star is because it feels sticky inside...
