Ordered a Pecos but got a whole lot of sauerkraut and dressing and and some mushy geotta on rye. No meat. Ugh!!!

The staff was so friendly but I hate to say it the food was not that great. The potato pancake was more starch than potato. I ordered the corn beef and swiss. The corned beef was not what I was expecting, it wasn't even corned, it was more of a deli meat and didn't taste too good for me. read more

This place is mediocre at best. Service honestly was kind of rude and a bit snappy. I don't think think the egg salad sandwich is work 7 dollars...it's extremely bland. Usually their potato pancakes are great but this time they were meh. Probably won't go back to this location. read more

I had the privledge of dining at Izzys' today and found the atmosphere relaxing yet cheerful ,the management greeted us as soon as we walked in and our waitress was accommodating and delightful. The place was super busy as we arrived at Noon and the lunch rush was in full swing this did not effect our service or the quality of our food. My business associates dined on corned beef whereas I delighted in the moist and flaky Icelandic Cod sandwich ,the potato pancakes were hot and delicious,and the complimentary pickles added an extra bonus to our meal. I highly recommend Izzys' and can't wait to try another of their signature sandwiches in the near future. read more

Hit or miss in the drive through. Don't always get it the way you asked for it. Also the portion on my recent fish sandwich didn't even cover the bun, think piece #2 was missing and I asked for rye bread. I like the fish so I return but it isn't always right at this location. read more

Very frustrating experience. Food is decent but check your bill. Had special with matzah ball soup. Menu says it's an upcharge of 50 cents and when the bill came they added $1.50 per soup. Cashier said that they don't sell cups of matzah soup, only bowls. I asked him why the menu has only a cup upcharge price and not a bowl price since they don't sell cups and he said he doesn't know why and apologized that "I" was confused. He was so condescending and said, "Well, did you like the matzah soup?" Can you say bait and switch? Try Kinneret Cafe if you want great matzah ball soup without the ignorant attitude! read more

Absolutely fantastic pastrami Reuben on a pretzel bun! Chicken noodle soup was fresh with Bowie pasta. The potato pancakes were crispy pillows of heavenly goodness. Oh, and the pickles were amazing and I don't usually like pickles! I sure wish we had one in Toronto!! read more

Went to Izzy's today for lunch and catch up with some old friends.. The atmosphere was very inviting. The service was terrific!! Ann, our server, made sure that we needed for nothing the whole time we sat there. We ordered the 'New' Chicken Chili, just to try it out. It was really good. But then again the soups at Izzy's have always been good. I, of course, can't have lunch at Izzy's and not eat the Corned Beef. I had a reuben, it comes with a 'signature' Potato Cake, an endless amount of pickles. Excellent!!! It was too much so I had to take half of it home. Great place eat!! read more

On Tuesday February 13th I had a craving for a good Old Fashion Rubin ... I sat down and I ordered a Traditional Rubin but with Pastrami, toasted ... I received a Pastrami Rubin the kind with brown mustard, not what I wanted, and I received a cold potato cake. I don't mean the potato cake was warm it was cool to the touch. So trying to be calm about it I said I wanted a T r a d i t i o n a l Rubin with Pastrami and I explained it in fine detail the difference of what I wanted and what I received. I can see the mix up, but please make me another sandwich like a Corned Beef Rubin but with Pastrami instead, toasted and a fresh potato cake, I will pay for the first sandwich because it was just a misunderstanding, maybe I didn't say it clearly enough of what I wanted, thank you! ... This time I received a sort-of Rubin I got Rye bread and pastrami with a pinch of sauerkraut, no thousand island sauce or cheese and untoasted, this time I just ate it and explained to the waitress the errors. She was very nice about it and explained they had two new people working back there. Now when I arrived at your restaurant, there weren't any other customers in the place or at the drive through and the sandwich was made wrong twice. I paid $25 plus $3 tip for a simple Traditional Rubin with Pastrami instead of Corned Beef and I never got it. So much for that craving that sounded so good, it was shot after that meal. I have worked in retail and restaurants most of my life (I'm 57) and I would have never let one of my customers go through such a bad experience, let alone twice in one sitting. I would have done something to correct the problem and satisfy the customer. Just a note on this customer service; what I observed during this whole time my order was being made is music in the kitchen with the volume high enough to hear it on the other side of the restaurant where I was sitting. A cashier on his phone texting most the time I was there until I came up to ring out and he moved over to the other end and the waitress came over and asked him for his number and she rang me out. The other kitchen staff members were talking about things other than the task of making the food properly. Maybe train your people to put a little more effort into making the customer's food right would be key to having happy people when they leave your restaurant. Honestly I may not come back to this place which is a shame because the food used to be great. But I can't afford to pay $25 for one person to have a meal and not even get what I wanted. For $25 I will have steak meal Longhorn Steakhouse for that price, not just a sandwich! World's Greatest Rubin ... I think not!!! read more

Reuben. Wow. I rest my case. Oh, you want me to go on? ok. Pickles? great. Potato pancakes? Usually, tremendous (if its not hot crisp n fresh send it back). On Friday get matzoh ball soup. Add pepper. Delicious. Not the cheapest sandwich you will find, but the most delicious. read more

Hadn't been to an Izzy's in a long time and was looking forward to it. 4 kids, 3 adults. Sigh. It was a Sunday afternoon...not incredibly busy...There were at least two servers and three people working the sandwich line in back. Yet, it took for ever to get our order taken...when drinks were brought, the server didn't bring straws....and was carrying them by couching several between his forearm and chest...I was just waiting for a spill, but luckily that was avoided (don't you guys have serving trays?) We waited what appeared to be more time than I would expect for our order....again...it wasn't very busy. When my wife's and my order was brought, they brought the wrong sandwich for my soup and 1/2 sandwich order...and where were our soups? I had to ask for them. Oh...and no gratis pickle bowls at our table...I had to ask for that. So unfortunately, the poor service really ruined our experience. The food was good, but when accompanied by the poor service...well, it was just 'meh' in the end. When I walk in to a restaurant, having been a waiter myself, I'm already prepared to pay a 20% tip. You really have to fail to get less from me....and you did. 10% was all I gave up this time. read more

This is a Reuben??? This is a corned beef on rye. Reuben's are grilled. It wasn't bad but not much beef. Potato pancakes not good.

This isnn't the old Izzy's. The $9.00 classic Reuben had a skimpy amount of too thinly sliced bland tasting corned beef. And it was a corned beef sandwich instead of a Reuben as it wasn't grilled. The bread didn't look or taste like rye bread -- probably the cheapest version of bread available. The potato pancake was over-fried, cold, and dripping with grease. Instead of a pickle spear there was a little plastic cup with a couple slices of pickle. All in all, don't expect value or quality. read more

We were out riding around and shopping at the antique shop and decided to visit Izzy's. Glad we did. The cod sandwich was excellent and those potato pancakes are awesome. We were welcomed fast and the service was good. Very nice server and staff. Great place to eat, very relaxing and quiet when we were there. read more

The reuben, veggie reuben and the potato pancakes are excellent. The food is a bit overpriced for the portions. if dining in, the service from the staff is good. However, the service at the carry out counter ranges from unfriendly to downright rude. read more

I went to Izzy's yesterday. They've raised the price and given you less meat. Very disappointing. I won't be back.

Been coming here since I was a kid, and let me tell you there is no better corned beef anywhere in Ohio-- if not the entire country. And the service is spectacular no matter the hour. Three generations of my family have been coming to Izzy's -my grandmother was a visitor when Izzy himself was still behind the counter and charging pretty girls less for sandwiches- and it will continue to be a family tradition for as long as they are here. read more

I frequent this Izzy's often and have always had a great experience. I think they are fast, and the food is always great!
