We had a very nice dinner at "Izzy's on the Peninsula." I made reservations thru Opentable for 5pm on a Sunday. My Yelp Elite friend and I arrived early, and I got a parking spot right near the entrance. This nice restaurant sits right next to the airport runway, and we could watch planes coming in for a landing! We walked in just before 5pm. My initial impression of the dining room was it kind of looked a little like the Flemings @ Palo Alto. We were seated in a booth in the bar lounge. We were away from the main dining room, but we still received very attentive service. The menu seemed a bit limited, but I knew what I wanted to order. I ordered: - Classic Caesar Salad - "The Gomez" -10 oz Prime Rib w/ Cream Spinach and Izzy's Potatoes - Aperitivo Tropicale cocktail - Sourdough Bread, to share - Pelegrino water, bottle My friend ordered: - Wild Arugula Salad - 14 oz NY Strip Steak The Classic Caesar Salad was great. I haven't had a traditional Caesar with whole romaine lettuce in a long time. Crunchy and fresh, the lettuce was like a stage for the yummy dressing, cheese, and anchovies. The Prime Rib was 5-stars! OMG! Melt in your mouth tender! Cuts like warm butter! Au Jus and horseradish on the side. Supporting cast....creamed spinach and Izzy's potatoes. Perfect! Along with warm sourdough bread. Service was great! Very attentive. Even the Manager came by several times. I'm glad we were able to come try this restaurant before it closes permanently on Oct 4th. Finally came to try Izzy's after living in San Carlos for 4 years. We sat in a tiny booth in the bar area which was cute/cozy. It was still the end of happy hour so we tried to order the wedge salad and drinks under happy hour prices. Only one of the two drinks ended up with the discount, and not the wedge, though all 3 were ordered at the same time. Aside from that, service was good. Though my N.A. cocktail was tasty, I think $14 for a zero proof drink is crazy. My favorite steakhouse in the area does them for $9 and anything above $12 feels like robbery. Seemed weird that my husbands alcoholic cocktail was the same price (due to happy hour price being applied). We each ordered the Gomez prime rib. I didn't mind that the bread cost extra when I saw the size of it. Food was all great. Baked potato was a little less loaded than other places, but still tasty. read more

I am tired and didn't want to wander too far from the hotel so I walked to Izzy's. I've been here a few times but this is my first visit since the remodel. It's very nice inside! It seems more open than before and the bar is quite different, but in a good way. The waiter was very nice and quick with the water. He recommended a few wines but felt like a beer and ordered an amber that I hadn't heard of before. The beer was pretty good. I'd order it again but there are better ambers out there. For dinner I decided to try "The Gomez", a 10oz prime rib with creamed spinach and scalloped potato. The prime rib was amazing! It's been a while since I've had it and this did not disappoint. It was a perfect medium rare, tender and delicious. The creamed spinach and potatoes were also very good. Lots of garlic in the spinach, which I love. A great meal. read more

tl;dr Come for the Sunday Slab and Cab meal! Probably the best prime rib special in the Bay Area ($50). Free WiFi and large parking lot. Food (5/5): Everything was solid from the salads, entrees and dessert! Caesar salad: You can tell that the ingredients are made in-house, from the dressing to the lettuce/anchovies preparation. Smash burger: the caramelized onions and patties were cooked well. The fries were again MVP and came out super crispy. Slab and cab Sunday special: do yourself a favor and make sure to come on a Sunday and grab this for yourself. For $50, you get a salad, prime rib, and crullers. The prime rib is only slightly smaller than the standard version (8 verses 10 oz), but it's cheaper and comes with the other items. Cooked at medium rare, it was delicious as well as the cream, spinach and scalloped potatoes. I wasn't expecting to like the crullers, as I was thinking they were just fancier donuts, but I was so wrong. These came out nice and hot, and the texture was eggy and fluffy with a hint of vanilla. It was a great way to end the meal! [Note: although it's on the menu online, they don't publicly advertise this at the actual restaurant itself] Areas of improvement: - We sat in the small dining area to the right of entrance. Quieter, but felt quite neglected. - There were three tables and on 3 separate occasions, the servers didn't know which tables the food was for. - Pacing of the meal. Halfway through our entree, they brought out our dessert, which was a bit unexpected. Overall, after a bit of a letdown at our last experience, Izzy's redeemed itself again! First time going to Izzy's. I was worried because we didn't have reservations but we showed up when they open and were able to accommodate us. We started with the bread which was ho and delish. My husband ordered old fashioned which he says was great. He also got prawn cocktail which he enjoyed. I ordered the chicken dish and he ordered rib eye. The food was fantastic. Time to bid farewell to this Izzy's, because they're saying goodbye to San Carlos. Even after remodeling within last couple years. Izzy's on the Peninsula has a tasteful interior with a sort of retro-ish lounge area next to the bar. Its vibe seems to be traditional classic steak-house dining room crossed with the modern sleek steak and seafood restaurant. Location is literally next door to the small airport. On to the food, which is quite good. I got the Wild Arugula with roasted and pickled beets, goat cheese mousse, toasted almonds dressed in orange balsamic vinaigrette. An absolutely beautiful salad, it is dressed delicately to perfection. The dollops of ultra rich creamy goat cheese and beet chunks were the base, on top of which was a tall tall -- like maybe five inches high -- voluminous mound of fresh piquant arugula greens. Splendidly delectable. Meantime the Caesar salad my Elite pal dove into looked fantastic. It was a proper authentic Caesar of whole romaine leaves topped with lovely fresh anchovies and other garnish. If I ever get the chance to visit the original Izzy's in San Francisco, I would love to try The Caesar there and hope it will be made with just as much attention to detail and quality. Steak-wise, the 14-ounce New York strip was properly cooked medium rare. I did find it a tad bit gristly. Otherwise the taste was very good with nice chew where it wasn't tough. My steak came with some herbed butter and a nice sauce. A side of sourdough -- a warm, crunchy crust small loaf -- arrived with three little bowls: fancy salt, olive oil, whipped butter. Everything was great, but what truly stood out was the salads. Service was friendly, nice and accommodating. Other amenities were too. Soap in the Wash Room is pleasantly soothing and reminds me of the type in upper-tier department stores. In this case, candle and liquid soap are Flamingo Estate brand, en fragrance of Ancient vetiver and Douglas fir. Nice touch was the customised Izzy's label on the candle. Perhaps things in the economy and industry have changed enough that this Izzy's permanently closes as of this evening. Nothing seems guaranteed this year for most of us except upheaval and major change. Despite that, I do hope S. F. Izzy's remains open and busy and serving the Bay Area for many years more. This was a little different Thanksgiving for our family. My newlywed daughter drove to SoCal with my new son-in-law to spend the holiday with his folks. That's OK... they'll be with us on Christmas. So, my wife made reservations for three at Izzy's on the Peninsula. My wife, my son and I were at the front door when Izzy's opened at 2 pm on Thanksgiving Day. My wife and I had patronized Izzy's many moons ago, and it was always IMO a restaurant that served excellent steak dinners. The restaurant has been recently renovated, and it re-opened earlier this year. The transformation is truly remarkable. The original restaurant interior was dark and divided into sections that made the dining area seem small. The remodel has opened up the dining room and the bar has been made more accessible... tremendous improvements. On this Thanksgiving, the restaurant featured its regular menu with one special... a turkey dinner. My wife requested a couple of appetizers, but my son ordered the special. The meal looked and tasted delicious according to my son. The turkey breast portion was very generous, and he took some home for a sandwich later. What would Thanksgiving be without leftovers? I ordered the steak au poivre. It is Izzy's 14-oz. New York strip prepared with a creamy pan sauce seasoned with peppercorns. The steak was tender and flavorful... and the sauce made this entree a little festive. The steak comes à la carte. I ordered two side dishes: Izzy's Own Potatoes and the demi-glace mushrooms. Exquisite. The potatoes were layered like scalloped potatoes and topped with a cheesy crust. The mushrooms, bathed in a delicate French cuisine sauce, were a perfect companion for the steak au poivre. There were no leftovers. A word about the service. Diego served our meals. He was very personable and attentive. Outstanding. Diego made our dining experience a memorable one. If you get a chance to dine at Izzy's on the Peninsula, definitely ask to be seated in Diego's section. read more

After being disappointed here twice, I can confidently say I won't be returning. I came once for happy hour and once for a proper meal. For happy hour, there was no service in the bar. Literally no one seemed to be working the bar. After 10-15 minutes we were able to order drinks. We both got martinis, neither was good. They were cold, the flavor was off, the olives were soggy. A martini good is a steakhouse basic. We ordered the French dip sliders, which were chewy and overpowered by a mound of limp "grilled" onions on top. The jus was served in a tiny maple syrup type container that was far too small to actually dip said French dip sliders into. We came back for dinner in case happy hour was a fluke. After putting in our order and waiting about 15-20 minutes for food, we were informed they were "out of the ribeye". They literally only have a petite filet, a NY strip, and a ribeye. Oh, and a skirt with fries. How is a steakhouse out of one of three steaks? Also, shouldn't we be informed of that before we order, or at worst, immediately after? We got the skirt and the NY and they were both fine, at best. Served medium rare but lacking in flavor and both a bit chewy. Our side of "charred broccoli" was blanched or boiled, not charred, and came out cold. The carrots were nothing to write home about. The fries with the skirt were very crispy but had no soft potato inside. And the sauces at $4 each or 3 for $10 is actual highway robbery. Tiny little saucers of each sauce, hardly enough for a couple of bites. Priced like a 4-5 star steakhouse but with 2 star food and service. It's not for me. read more

Never got the dinner voucher making up for the bad experience from October 2024. I followed up on their Facebook page and sent them private messages via Facebook and all were ignored. The message on OpenTable that Izzy's sent to me offering the dinner voucher has since disappeared. How concerned were they with my bad customer experience? Well, they just made it worse. read more

I came her today to go one last time before they closed. I was disappointed by the food and the service. The drinks were still good. Food wise I got the prime rib and creamed spinach. Both needed salt and flavor. I knew the food wouldn't be that great but I had to order it since its their signature dish. The old fashioned was decent. The service at the bar was horrendous. The bar man stayed on the right side of the bar the whole time. I finally had to flag down a server to get my order taken, order a water, get my receipt, and get salt and pepper. Not once did anyone check on my. I think its clear the crew here has checked out. It's too bad, it has quite a bit of history but they were always in a weird spot near the san carlos airport outside of normal traffic lanes. This was our first time back since Izzy's re-opened.. My husband and I were really looking forward to it since we had such an amazing experience before they had closed, so we booked reservations for his bday. We walked in and got sat down right away. The remodel is very nice, the inside looks beautiful. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We ordered some drinks and some salads. (Just a side note, if you want "bread service" it's $5 now.) They also serve the bread with sea salt on the side and I definitely could have done without that. The wedge salad was definitely a must try. The dressing they use is different from your traditional wedge but it was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately my steak was way overcooked. I had to send it back and then my steak was way under cooked. The waitress was very apologetic and tried to make it right but I just ate what I could at that point. The broccoli & cream spinach were both really good. Unfortunately the potatoes & Mac and cheese lacked flavor. The staff tried to make the experience better but it definitely wasn't what we were expecting. It was overall still a disappointing experience. read more

Tried Izzy's for the first time tonight and it was overall a great meal. The location is in an obscure spot off of the 101 but once inside, the ambience gives modern steakhouse vibes. We were sat on the back patio which wasn't busy at all and we had a great corner booth location next to a heater. Was a perfect spot for an early dinner slot We ordered the sliders, salmon, 2 of the potato dishes and a steak au poivre. All the dishes were well done, tasty and generous portions. I think the prime rib sliders were the least memorable dish whereas Izzy's potatoes and salmon were a highlight for me The entire staff was so attentive and friendly. We celebrated my brother's birthday at this steakhouse. The restaurant is next to a private airfield at San Carlos. Tiny imposing building that is like a fine di ing quaint steakhouse. The ambiance is quiet but sophisticated restaurant that serves aged steaks that are tender, sides are phenomenal and the 4 sauces are excellent with any cut of beef you order. 3 of us ordered The Gomez which is a 10 oz prime rib, with Izzy's own potatoes ( scalloped thin potatoes with creamy mild bechamel sauce, parmesan, white cheddar that is baked to perfection) and creamed spinach. The sides were like 1.5 oz each but the prime rib is 10 oz and the cut is 0.75 inch thick. It was huge on the plate. It comes with au jus and their mild horseradish cream(creme fraiche with a hint of horseradish - its smooth creamy goodness with freshly grated horseradish. Not too overpowered with heat but slight taste). I am assuming all flavors go very well on what you eat there. It was excellent and the meat was very tender, steaks were cooked to perfection. 5/5. We also order a flight of sauces: housemade steak sauce( similar to their au jus but thick but little more savory), chimichurri was excellent very mellow, slightly acidity from lemon juice and herbaceous from parsley. It had a very well balanced taste when complimented with grilled steaks.) Au poivre was excellent too. 4/5. If it's your first time and you wanted to try their sauces, this is the way! 3 for $10. My other ordered the New York steak with a side of mashed potatoes. My mom had the filet mignon and a side of sautéed broccoli. Fantastic! She ate it all. 5/5. Then we shared desserts: My brother's birthday cake - available cake topped with whipped white chocolate ganache and a side of caramel sauce. 4.2/5. Chocolate Decadence pays homage to the black forest cake with new flavors - dark chocolate ganache, chocolate torte, blackberry compote topped with a chocolate biscuit and praline bonbon. It was a beautiful dessert or entremet I have ever seen. But it tasted a revision of a black forest cake. It was rich but had subtleties of textures and nuances of flavors. A great dessert! I haven't eaten at Izzy's since the early 2000s when they had a location in San Ramon. When I found out this one was still open I was really excited to try it again. My past experiences were absolutely stellar. This was one of the best experiences I've had in a long while. The restaurant is laid out and has a great feel to it. The wait staff was very welcoming and professional. Given the history of who Izzy was (the person the restaurants modeled after) the restaurant definitely had an old school prohibition era feel to it. For starters, we had the Caesar salad and the deviled eggs. By far the best Caesar salad I've had to date. The dress was perfect. I got a hint of lemon zest from it, and the anchovy pieces on top paired well with it. The deviled eggs were perfect. Battered and fried and extremely flavorful. For the main, we had the 21 ounce bone and ribeye and then I had the Gomes, which is their signature prime rib. It came with cream of spinach and Izzy's potatoes. We also got a side of Mac n cheese The T bone was cooked perfectly and tasted great without any sauce. The Gomez.... A perfect cut, with cream horseradish perfect every bite. The potatoes are exactly how I remember, cheesy and creamy. I'll make a comparison, as I think the house of prime rib is my favorite place to get prime rib - size was obviously smaller, but it was a close second (just speaking of the prime rib)-... but this is not a bad thing because I think it was excellent. I was driving on 101 the other day and saw the Izzy's sign and decided to come here for a prime rib dinner. Definitely a good call. The 10oz prime rib was bigger than the 12oz I had another restaurant just last week. It was cooked perfectly as requested (medium well.) I also got the half lobster tail which was quite meaty. I recently visited Izzy's on the Peninsula with a group of friends and family, and while the food was excellent, the service was a huge disappointment. First, let me start with the positives: the remodel they did really transformed the place. It now has a much more upscale vibe, which made the ambiance great for a night out. The hostess who greeted us was warm and friendly, setting the stage for what I thought would be a wonderful evening. My friend Melanie and I decided to split the filet mignon, and we each ordered our own fully loaded baked potatoes. Melanie's kids ordered burgers without cheese since they have a gluten intolerance, and my husband went for the NY strip with mac and cheese as his side. The food itself was delicious--the filet mignon was cooked to perfection, and my husband loved his NY strip. Even Melanie's kids enjoyed their burgers (once they were corrected for the gluten allergy). The mac and cheese was a hit with everyone who tried it. The only small critique I have with the food was the fully loaded baked potato. It was tasty, but I was expecting it to be more generously 'loaded.' It seemed a bit light on the toppings, which was a little underwhelming. Unfortunately, the food was the only real highlight of the evening, because the service was absolutely terrible. Our server, Ihsan, was anything but pleasant. From the moment he came to the table, he acted as if serving us was an inconvenience. He interrupted our conversation multiple times to ask for specific items from the table--glasses, silverware--and it got to the point where it felt like he was intentionally being disruptive for no reason. It came off as rude and unprofessional. To make matters worse, he didn't listen when Melanie specifically mentioned her kids' gluten allergy. He brought their burgers with cheese on them, and we had to send them back. After dropping off our food, he completely disappeared. My husband ordered an Old Fashioned and was never asked if he wanted a refill. The water glasses went empty, and no one came by to refill them. We literally couldn't find Ihsan anywhere. When it was finally time to ask for the check, we had to track down another staff member, and even then, it took nearly 20 minutes for Ihsan to bring it to us. I haven't had service this poor in a long time, and it really left a bad taste in our mouths--especially considering how good the food was. It's a shame because this could've been a great dining experience, but the service was so frustrating and unprofessional that I honestly don't see myself returning. Let's look at this as a new restaurant. This is not the old Izzy's. No it's something different. Somewhat similar but not the same. The basics are the same. Bar service is nice. The atmosphere is clean and refreshing. Service was great. No complaints. Seated at a bar booth, I had called earlier and left a message asking for a table at 7:00 for 2 people. Left my phone number. No one called back . But when we came in we were seated quickly in the bar area. Which was quite nice. Booth was perfectly sized. Clean and bright. We had the smash burger and fries. Came out rather quickly and was decent tasting. I think bang for the buck, you could do better. Everything on the menu is à la cart. So prices add up quickly. I guess all good things come to an end. It's been several years since we ate at Izzy's. Since then, they've totally re-modeled the place. It is a gorgeous restaurant, with all that classy, handsome steakhouse vibe. And the service on our visit was impeccable. So professional and courteous, and not the least bit overbearing. I ordered the filet mignon with sauce au poivre. Very good. The only drawback was that I ordered it medium rare, and it was served rare. But with steak, undercooked is better than overcooked. My husband ordered the New York strip, blackened. His steak was a perfect medium rare, and the blackening spices were nice and peppery. For sides we shared the loaded baked potato, creamed spinach, and demi-glace mushrooms. The spinach needed a touch more salt for my palate, but other than that, everything was very good. We sat in one of the small booths in the bar area, with the tiny lamps on the tables. So cozy and intimate! I do miss when the sides were included with the dinners at Izzy's, but I suppose they have to finance that beautiful re-model somehow. I was a little hesitant to try Izzy's in the peninsula, but we went in there anyways I had the wedge salad and New York steak, medium rare with the side of the creamy spinach. Everything there was perfect. They sat me by the bar in a little private booth very romantic you must for sure order bread service. The bread came out hot sourdough a little bit of olive oil on the side, whipped butter and sea salt all on the side the steak was cooked perfectly. It couldn't have been better . I don't mean to exaggerate, but this steak was probably one of the top five steaks I've had in the Bay Area give this place a shot. Our server went above and beyond along with entire wait staff to make sure we had everything we needed. I personally had an espresso martini was amazing and was the perfect culmination of flavors. My husband had the house Manhattan and enjoyed it so much he had another! My aunt had a Baileys and coffee which unfortunately did not come out as hot as she would like. The server immediately addressed this and brought out a fresh hot drink no questions asked and it was perfect after that. The food was absolutely amazing as well! My mother did the Gomez which is their prime rib dinner and it came out cooked to order with some of the most amazing potatoes ever! My father had the prime rib sandwich and said it was by the far best prime rib sandwich he has ever had. My husband and myself had the smash burger which was absolutely amazing and again cooked perfectly to order. For dessert we did the key lime cheesecake and it was fabulous! They also were kind enough to do sides of ice cream for the rest of our party as they wanted something a bit lighter to end their meal and they were happy to accommodate them. We also did the bread service which was $5.00 however it was well worth it on our opinion as it came out hot and fresh and there is nothing like fresh hot sourdough bread from San Francisco. When we are back in town we will definitely be coming back to Izzy's for another amazing dinner and cocktail. read more

3.5 stars I've been to the one in SF and here lots of times. This is my first time here since the remodel. The outside patio is very nice. Came here for dinner and had the calamari, Prime rib and mushroom bolognese. The calamari was decent but a little on the oily side. I had the Prime rib and it was cooked to perfection. My only complaint was the size. You use to be able to choose your size and also your side dishes. Now it only comes in 10oz and with potatoes and spinach. I'm was more than happy to pay a little more to order a larger cut. My wife had the pasta and it was just ok. Not too much flavor to the dish. All the prices went up and the selection of food seemed to been cut back. Overall I like the Prime rib but not sure it was worth the price. You could got the Black Angus and get more for you money. read more

So this is a hidden gem. They have really turned the place around. The last time I was at Izzys's, they had that old tires look of an era gone by. But now they are back swinging. The steaks are reasonably priced and I got a pretty huge serving for the 14oz Steak Au Poivre we each ordered. The plates were wiped clean by the time we were done. The interiors have been significantly updated, and this would be a great place for a business meal. The bar area is set up well and there weren't too many people there for dinner - so biz may be slow during week day dinners The star is definitely the whiskey and wine list - and I got my fair share of interesting bourbons to choose from during this dinner. read more

How dare you come back...no not your ex but Izzy after being gone for what seemed so long. Back at Izzy's since the reno...place looks updated, definitely a bit more contemporary. BUT the bartenders (Triple Threat Team) are awesome (hey Anthony), server Rafael (woo hoo) , and Edwin, the manager, are magnets to return. Drinks are spot on (Izzys Old Fashlion exclusive Buffalo Trace just made for Izzys). Deviled.eggs is so good that eating all 4 makes you feel bad in a good way. Cowboy ribeye lasso it in...so yummy! Accompaniments sound typical like cream spinach and potatoes but are not, and rather accompaniments that cowboy, can't live without. We came here for my mom's birthday and long story short, I wouldn't recommend coming here for a special occasion. I had mentioned online ahead of time that it was going to be her birthday and when we walked in, the host greeted us and said happy birthday, but it was never brought up again or mentioned to our waiter. We ordered the arugula salad and calamari for appetizer and they were both fine, not memorable. The calamari was half actual calamari and half random fried vegetables that didn't make much sense but I digress. Now the real disappointment was the food. We ordered two orders of the prime rib and one order of the New York strip. The steak was good but the $64/person prime rib was really awful and that's an understatement. The creamed spinach on the side was good but the other side of potatoes was undercooked and hard. The prime rib was both overcooked and undercooked at the same time, despite asking for medium. It was spongy and dry and had basically no flavor. The biggest disappointment was when we ordered the dessert. The dessert itself was good, but it was just plopped on our table and the waiter walked away. I was baffled as there was no candle or anything special and I thought since they had greeted us and I had mentioned the birthday, that there would be a little more to it. When we finally flagged down our waiter, he looked shocked as he did not know it was my mom's birthday. I don't understand how there was no communication between the host and the wait staff? And what was the point of mentioning the occasion? The service was great though and our waiter was super apologetic (though it totally wasn't his fault). We went for a final dinner before the San Carlos location closes permanently. It was a really bad experience. The only positive was we were seated slightly before our reservation time, so we didn't have wait around before getting to our table. We waited over ten minutes before anyone made contact with us. We were smart enough to order our drinks, appetizers and mains at the same time because we couldn't be sure we'd see our server again. Speaking of servers, she had no personality and was completely checked out. I understand your location is closing, but she should still have some pride about how to do your job. The Caesar salad was an absolute mess. The plate had large Romaine hearts sloppily dressed with dressing and breadcrumbs. By refusing to chop up the lettuce, the dressing failed to adhere to much of the greens. It simply stayed on one layer, so you had to dress it yourself. Our mains arrived and things got worse. My husband's baked potato was so cold, that butter didn't melt on it. His steak was supposed to be medium, but looked more like a step above raw. My steak was almost the medium I requested, but my sides of potatoes and creamed spinach were basically ice cold. Before we realized dinner was a disaster, we preordered the donuts for desert since they take twenty minutes to be prepared. By the time we struggled through dinner, we asked the donuts to be boxed for us to take home. We simply wanted to go home. The food and service were both so bad, I will not go to the SF location. I will tell my friends and associates not to go there either. Do better. It is sad you went out on a such a low note. read more

The food was absolutely delicious. Came here for my birthday and got seated right away. The only thing is they sat us in the back left booth and I felt like we were always waiting for our waiter to come by. Kind of felt forgotten. And also they were pricey charging for every little thing. Don't think we would come back as we could get just as good food somewhere else without all the extra charges. The ambiance and decor is very nice. But the food did not deliver, nor did the service. I hate to write a negative review but I have to be objective. Hopefully they can improve from feed back. The waiter took away our plates and utensils before the table bread came. It felt odd not being able to eat the bread over a plate. The portion of the skirt steak was really small. They forgot to bring our 2nd round of drinks and we had to remind them. They were nice to give us a complimentary cocktail drink though. The waiter seemed like a nice person and he did stop by a few times to check on us. The burger was good. read more

Large dining area, modern decor ...lighting where you can actually see throughout the restaurant(because too many steakhouses have dark ambiance, this place has more windows) This IZZYS is a more casual place to dine at ...mid to upscale, not boogie We came on Mothers Day so it was busy, plenty of parents having to snap at their kids, diners young and old, casual dress code but not ghetto so please, wear comething nice Wait staff was attentive but on the slower side at the time. Menu is simple, lots of a la carte, no 'kids' options but there are items you can hope kids will eat or pick at. They started with drink orders ...then we ordered appetizers. We were offered the bread starter, said yes ...but it did not come with the appetizers, obviously they forgot it ...so it came after we mentioned it, before our entrees came out. Entrees looked great and tasted just as good. My kids ate so for us, thats a win. The prime rib was cooked a nice medium rare The rest of the sides were fine also...i mean seriously this restaurant is not bad for a date night or even with kids. Its a casual atmosphere and fam friendly environment. Probably not your first choice for a steakhouse retreat but it is definitely an option if your first choice is fully booked. read more

First time here. Not a great impression. It was very welcoming but the service was really bad. Arrived asked for a table and they said 10mins, yeah right. More like 32mins. Went to wait at the bar. Drinks are pretty good but pricey. When we finally got sat they gave us menus and it was simple easy menu, not many options. Wasn't too overwhelming like others. It took 20mins for someone to take our orders. We asked for bread and they said they didn't have any, that it was all done. The menu doesn't really have appetizers to share it's more like little side dishes that to me wasn't appetizing. We waited for 35 more mins to get our food. Food was ok. The only thing I liked was the steak. Pretty good steak. They just need a little bit more knowledge on the difference between medium well and medium rare! Would I go back? Definitely not. read more

We used to eat at Izzy's prior to the pandemic; post pandemic, the quality had gone down, so we gave it a rest. Last week was my birthday, and I wanted to try Izzy's. First off, the decor is totally updated-no more dark 1960s era steakhouse-the whole area is open with an outdoor patio. No more Hemingway decor, now just classic steak house decorations. No more white table cloths-the tables are bare-so kudos for making less washing needed. The menu has changed a bit since the previous owners: no more roasted mussels :( but the new mussels are excellent-beer broth, Belgian style, with a bit of a bite. The appetizer selection is smaller, but still decent. My Mom and I had fish, and my Dad and husband had the rib eye. Side orders are now a la carte (unless you get the steak set that includes them), but still delicious. Docked one star for the limited selection on the appetizers and cocktail menu, but overall, a nice experience. We will be back here soon. read more
