This place is amazing! They are FAST and get it done right! I work from home so my computer is VERY VERY important. It had broken down and I took it to another place in Escondido to get it fixed. They charged me $100 to take a look at it and didn't even solve the problem! Meanwhile, J & B Computers gave me the computer back the very next day and figured out what the issue was. J&B is great! My PC somehow could not power up starting from several weeks ago. I searched online but could not fix it by myself. Therefore I brought my PC to J&B last week. Then they fix it within 2 days. It turns out the video card is broken. They found the problem, got a video card, and installed it for me. The charge is only $49! Excellent!!! My daughter's laptop broke at the hinge and when she took it back to best buy they told her it was 6 months out of warranty so she's out of luck. She lives at the university and needed it working asap for school. I sent her brother there a few years ago after finding it on yelp and once again, it was the right call. The guy even called after 9pm while still working on it and gave us all our options and quoted his reasonable prices for those options. If you just want to get it back to normal or if you want to upgrade it, there was no hard sell. In the end, she will have it back in working order for under $100 and within 24 hours. These guys are great! I had a NAS that had fallen off my desk and I was not able to access the photos or other files. Took it to another computer shop who charged me $149 to look at it and tell me it was going to be anywhere from $1,200-$2,200 to "try" and get the data back. Dream Team- Triple Threat.... Nope- not taking about Jennifer Lopez or One Direction... I am referring to -Jim, Andrew and Kevin. I brought my laptop in because it sounded like it was going to take off into space and was also making a strange frying noise. Andrew found a piece of plastic in the computer and fixed it .....as well as cleaned up the entire PC. These guys are honest, super tech savvy and most importantly professional. If you are brining your computer in .....chances are you are probably freaking out because you didn't back up anything......and your life is on a hard drive. They are calm- reassuring and set expectations from the beginning. I will only go to them moving forward. Don't waste your time going anywhere else- these guys have your best interest at heart. Our desktop had slowed significantly so we took it in and they had to do a complete overhaul due to viruses. They preserved all the data and installed anti-virus and anti-malware programs that are free and work great. Walked in with a cracked laptop screen at about 10 AM today. I walked out within 8 minutes with a price quote. I got a call at around 1:30 PM saying that my computer was ready for pick up. I got a 10% discount and I was given free priority service (which they usually charge extra for) because I am a student. I spent less than $120 to replace a Samsung 15 inch screen. I feel like that's a steal because I was quoted a lot more at other places! The service was great, quick and easy! The staff is pleasant. Andrew was awesome!!! First I took my computer in somewhere else and was told my motherboard needed to be replace and it would cost me between $300 - $400 dollars. I was devastated so i got a second opinion. Both my nephew and cousin recommended J & B Computer Repair. Andrew called me the same day and told me that it was in fact NOT my motherboard but instead my power plug!!!! I told them before hand that another place told me it was the motherboard and they could have just when with it and I would have been non the wiser. I had decided it was time to replace my 10 year old HP desktop and was looking for a good deal. I had done a few repairs with J&B years back and remembered that they sold used / upgraded Dell desktops. I found that J&B had a great deal at more than half the cost on a new Dell and after some research, I said yes. I had them install my SSD on top of their SSD along with a few software programs and had them transfer all my data. The cost was very reasonable with great results. My new PC is lighting fast with all my files and pics. Keven, the tech, worked with me to get everything I had asked for. I can't say enough good things about this local shop. When my graphics card needed replacement (noisy fan), they invited me to bring the computer in immediately. On the spot they tested and replaced the card. I was out the door in 20 minutes. Best of all, I was able to watch them do the work, so I'm a little wiser about how my computer works now. I found J & B through Yelp! which had excellent reviews and they offered Free Diagnostic Check. They were very friendly, gave me excellent service. I ended up having to replace my old PC and they hooked me up with a newer PC and installed the recover data from my old PC. Best of all, they offered all that for a great price. Wow....J & B diagnosed my laptop with no minimum charge. Jim called me back in a timely fashion and said that the cost to repair the machine didn't make economic sense (display going wonky and unbeknownst to me, a questionable hard drive) based on its age and estimated repair cost. I picked up the machine and they even gave me a list of recommended brands for replacement based on their experience for reliability! Did I mention no charge for the diagnoses and advice? Went to have my 2011 MacBook repaired. I specifically mentioned that the trackpad wasn't working and neither were the USB ports. After 3 days, I finally got a call telling me the repairs would cost too much, on top of addition concerns they found, so I opted into only fixing the trackpad. I went to pick it up today and when I checked that the trackpad was working, the computer applications are now ridiculously slow. The employee up front even noted that this wasn't happening before and I knew it wasn't happening before. After 5 minutes of trying to get my applications to open up I told him that this was not okay. He said the hardware was bad so it's unpredictable, even after he said the applications were fine before. He offered absolutely no solution just stood there and asked for payment and signature for the trackpad. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless they're okay with bringing back more problems then they went in with. The work is average and the customer service is terrible. The only plus I guess is the trackpad does now work, but the computer doesn't. read more

I am so glad I found J&B Computers! They are professional, friendly and extremely fair. I was surprised with all they were able to fix on my computer especially given my final bill was MUCH less than I would have thought. My computer was a mess - mostly my fault as I am an impatient person and not exactly computer savvy! Now my computer runs like new again! I would recommend them to anyone (already have). I also plan to go back to have them help install a new program that I can't seem to figure out. Jim and Kevin at J & B Computers really went the Extra Mile to make sure my computer was operating like it did when it was new. After installing a new Windows 7 operating system they helped me set up my wireless and modem. My Company training is done by You Tube Videos. So being able to view these videos is very important to me. When I still could not play You Tube Videos Kevin patiently figured out that a piece of equipment I had operating was fighting with another piece of equipment. When he had me disconnect the one that didn't have anything to do with my computer all of a sudden I could view You Tube Videos. I struggled with this computer for months and spent enough money with another Tech Computer Company that I could have bought another computer .At J & B Computers, I spent a fraction of what I had already spent with the other company that had worked on it twice and did not fix it. My external hard drive suddenly broke when I was trying to apply for jobs. I found J&B Computers online and they had great reviews so I decided to give them a try. These guys are genuinely friendly and provide rapid and low-cost service. Kevin helped me out, and quickly discovered that my hard-drive was fine but the casing and connection port had the issues, so he transferred the guts into a new shell, and now it is as good as new. I had a bit of a crisis in that my wife's Thinkpad had died and I could not resurrect her expensive older software on a windows 10 machine. I brought the broken Thinkpad over to J&B and even though they were very busy with phone calls and other customers lining up they went out of their way to test the hardware, verify it was toast.
