This business owner does not stand behind what he sells. I purchased a fish that died within a couple of hours, and instead of taking responsibility, he blamed everything and everyone else. With no credit and no replacement of a fish. I also tried to trade in another fish I bought from him just two days earlier because it was attacking my other fish. His response was that the fish was "supposed" to act that way. What kill my other fish? He refused to offer store credit on the $20 fish and said he needed to "see if it survived." He then told me to come back in four days for possibly a $7 credit. This is unacceptable service. The lack of accountability, poor customer care, and unprofessional behavior are reasons why I cannot recommend buying from this store. We will no longer support this business. read more

Are you looking for a hedgehog? This is how you get a hedgehog... Okay, I wasn't going in for a hedgehog. I was trying to get a new betta fish because I have a tank and it was going to waste. I walked in, and was immediately greeted and asked if I needed any help. Even though I knew I didn't, I told them why I was there and directed towards all of the beautiful options of bettas that they had in. However, I was so taken back by all of the tanks that I really just wanted to explore the store. Rows and rows of all kinds of aquatic life! Fish, crustaceans, plants, eels, and I don't know what all was there, but it was a lot. While the place isn't huge, I could've easily spent an hour just looking at every tank and enjoying all of the wildlife. Then they had some tortoises, hedgehogs, mice, spiders, probably snake? Seriously, I was just impressed by all of the selection. But, that's not why I was there. I needed the betta and a new heater and was very easily accommodated. Great store, a little pricey, but you'll probably find what you need without much of an issue. read more

I learned about this important thing from my ChatGPT who said that it's crucial to have one of these but Petco and PetSmart happen to be sold out so I've been searching other places to get one and I came across this aquatic and reptile store so I called and the girl had no idea what I was talking about so I asked for the manager thinking maybe she just was uninformed and he basically told me that he's never carried thermostat for a heat pad and that they usually don't get too hot and that he does not know where to tell me to get one.. this man literally sells reptiles and has no knowledge on how to properly take care of your baby clearly after I hung up, I found a PetSmart in Metairie and was able to purchase one from there . Love watching the fish and talking with the employees, the owner is always really helpful even when I don't buy something he always answers me questions because I'm very curious lol! I would never ever buy an animal from here again. My boyfriend bought a bearded dragon three days ago from this shop. Firstly, when we went in they just opened for the day so we expected the animals to be little lazy. I peeked into a fish habitat and there were three dead fish at the top... the man that worked there saw me looking and came over and scooped them out with his hand and walked away.... We got a clerk to get a bearded dragon out of its habitat and when the man put it in the box it just laid flat on its tummy and wasn't moving so we put it back and got another one even though the worker assured us they were "just really chill and that's all they normally did was chill". We also asked how old they were and they said three months about but if you looked at them and were knowledgeable about them you would know it was definitely no where near three months old. Anyways we bought one (which wasn't cheap btw) and the whole ride home it was lethargic. Thinking he was just sad or scared I fed him and bathed him and left him alone in his habitat. Then the second day comes around and he's pretty much still lethargic, not really opening his eyes, won't eat, not responding to me holding him. My boyfriend calls the store and the man who answered the phone says that its probably because we weren't feeding him crickets and the ones at his store showed different energy levels after being switched to crickets... so my boyfriend drives to the store to get the crickets... brings them home and he doesn't want to eat the crickets. My boyfriend calls the store again and tells the man in which he responds that it is our fault he's the way he is and he won't refund us or trade for another one he will only issue store credit (who wants store credit if the animals are sick or malnourished and why wouldn't I just buy another one with the store credit) . Fast forward two hours and our baby beardy is deceased . My boyfriend calls the man againnnnn in which he says "bring me the lizard" . He goes to the store argues with the man for an hour and eventually the man gives us another one because my boyfriend was going back and forth with him and there were other customers in the store. Never ever go to this store, their animals are sickly and not well taken care of. I truly wouldn't even buy animal food from them. It was overall a terrible experience as a whole. read more
