Thursday night catch up with an old friend. We tend to choose steak houses, it's a guy thing. Located in West County Mall, I was hesitant specifically because of that. I've not been to this mall in years. Upon arrival, yep, retail carnage, with the old Smith and Wolleskey location next door vacant. Telling times. Greeted promptly. Had 630 dinner reservations although I doubt that they were necessary. My first time at this establishment, billed as a KC style steak house. Now in all fairness this is a edited review. The first paragraph is original. I reviewed and I have to tell you. I was contacted by Chris Hardy from the company. He read my review. He reached out to me and extended an olive branch to contact him regarding my review. I think that was great. I also think it was the professional thing to do and for that I re-reviewed this establishment. I recently have been writing my new company website. As a part of it I wrote how our customers expects it right. Every time. I know, but it's how we are as consumers. That's the bar. I also wrote that a customer will judge us not for our failures, but how we handle those failures. Chris did everything right and for that I think that it speaks loudly for the quality of this restaurant management team. For that, I have changed my review to a 4 star. Like myself, we owe them another chance. Like others who might read this, this is a lesson how it should be done. Kudos Chris Hardy for your professionalism and concern. I will be back. read more

We took our 16 month old with us for dinner, and I simply can't say enough about our server, Joseph. He was very sure as to not startle her approaching the tracks and careful to not let little hands grab at anything. He was very attentive to her needs as well as ours. I highly recommend requesting Joseph for a very pleasurable experience. He is extremely knowledgeable regarding everything on the menu, and anticipated our every need. As for the meal, the crab cakes to start with were wood grilled and without any fillers or breading, I could taste the crab in every bite. We shared a Cesar salad that they put on two separate plates, a very nice touch that wasn't even requested. We both had steak, his was the ribeye, mine the filet, and both cooked as ordered to perfection.. they were so tender, they could be cut with a spoon, and melted in your mouth. For dessert, the chocolate velvet cake with raspberry sorbet, what can I say but mmmmmm. Highly recommend! read more

Went to visit J.Gilbert's on a Monday afternoon to do a photo shoot of the restaurant. This is a BEAUTIFUL place, full of leather, warm lighting and big comfy booths. There is a bar area to one side and a full seating area on another. There are also rooms that are closed off with glass doors for private parties. I also loved the metal antelope heads on the walls....very cool. The manager Tripp and all of the staff were so helpful and nice. You really got a sense that they loved their jobs and loved the restaurant. I think that's very important and shows in the food and service. I got to see first hand how many dishes were prepared and I can tell you that all the ingredients are fresh and first rate. There is a huge wood oven in the kitchen for steaks and fish and I feel that is the very best way to prepare them. After the shoot I just HAD to take home some of their award winning Poblano au gratin potatoes and their house made Maytag potato chips w/ a blue cheese sauce....omg. Next time I'll have to get dinner here whenever we are out this way! read more

My wife and I ate here recently, and while the food here is certainly good, I feel that it is overpriced. Both of us got the prix fixed menu, which included a salad, entree, and a dessert. One thing that definitely rubbed me the wrong way was the fact that they charge $4 for iced tea, which is brought to you in this little glass teapot-like contraption. And, they do not offer free refills for this! I was a little stunned when the waitress told us this. I was trying to think if there were any other places I had been in St.Louis that didn't offer free refills, and I couldn't think of any. Very strange. The caesar salad that my wife and I got was fine, and the filet I ordered was good as well, although small. The dessert was a small portion as well, which I guess is to be expected on the prix fixed menu. With all that said, if I'm going to spend this much at a steak and seafood restaurant, I'm going to Morton's, Fleming's, or Ruth's Chris over this place every time. read more

I'm convinced that if you put a high-enough price tag on a piece of s#@t, some will say it tastes JUST like belgian chocolates. Now, that's not to say that my fellow reviewers of this establishment have been swayed by the dollar signs alone. It is highly possible (I suppose) that I just happened to visit this restaurant on their worst night ever. Ever. How does a "steakhouse" not know how to properly prepare a "steak?" I'll wait. . . It was so bad that AYE didn't even need to ask to have the steak removed from my presence. As soon as it was put in front of me, the server came by, took a gander, and said, "oh, that's not good. That has to go back." To that, we agreed. Second time around, no better. Third time around, edible, but just that. C'mon son. For that much money, edible is just NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!! I could go on and on and on, but I'll leave on a positive note: my meal was such a disaster that they gave it to me for free. Two stars were earned for two reasons: my server was excellent, and the Smoked Salmon Rillette appetizer was decent. Take my advice, though, if you want an excellent steak, at a more reasonable price, go to Hendel's Market Cafe. You're welcome. read more

I could NOT find one thing wrong...OH, I tried! Warm greeting upon entering. We were seated in a circular booth right below the fireplace wall. Our server Bryon was spot on. Professional, yet warmly engaging. He pointed out some highlights on the menu from various sections. Byron brought some warm and crusty sourdough bread with 2 kinds of butter. Pastrami (and yes, it did taste like pastrami) and a sweet cream. I opted for the bone-in pork chop. It came with 2 sides. I chose the Poblano au gratin potatoes and grilled asparagus (all recommended by Byron). The chop was thick, juicy, and with just enough char to give it extra flavor. The potatoes were served encasserole. They were creamy and piping hot! Perfectly grilled asparagus rounded out my meal. My husband had the Wagyu Burger with Gruyere cheese, shallot jam, au poivre mayo, and watercress. It was served on a pretzel bun with shoestring sweet potato fries. It came out per request. My husband commented that this was the most expensive burger he has had to date. $16 seems high for a burger but when you factor in all the ambiance...seems fair to me. Our drinks were kept refilled. It was a very relaxing meal with the warmth of the fireplace overhead and Norah Jones singing in the background. The dark woody yet contemporary atmosphere added to the overall club vibe. Good steak, good sides, and good drinks - what's not to like? The food here is rich and delicious and OMG you have to get the chocolate velvet cake because it was delicious and I could barely eat any of it because I was so stuffed from my steak and scallops. There were a lot of extended families here during my visit and people aren't too stuffy. You'll feel fine wearing nice jeans and a collared shirt so don't overthink it. Depending on your seat you can watch a fire or the game so that's a plus. I really can't wait to go back and eat here again, preferably when I have fasted for a week in anticipation of fitting this meal in me. read more

My guy and I just happened upon this place and were not disappointed. I was thrilled when I saw the sign since I was able to enjoy a night at J. Gilbert's in Overland Park, KS a few years ago. While dining with my guy, I decided to have the Mesquite Pink Salmon and it was amazing! Baked on a plank and perfectly prepared. This is my favorite way for salmon to be prepared and it was excellent. It was served with mashed potatoes and green beans. They were both quite tasty. I started my meal with a wedge salad and again, excellent! Needless to say, I was stuffed. My guy started his meal with the Tomato & Mozzarella Salad and said it was decent, but didn't rave about it. When his meal arrived, he sang a different tune. He had the Mishima Ranch Wagyu Burger. He was impressed! It is served on a pretzel bun. Need I say more? We didn't have any wine, but the wine list is extensive. The bar area is large and will be a place I suggest for an upcoming happy hour. Go visit! Check it out! Terrible dining experience. My steak came out well done when I ordered it medium. The asparagus was not fully cooked. The restaurant did give me a new steak cooked medium. However when we wanted to speak with the manager about our experience he was rude and dismissed our concerns. We left saying we've never want to go back. The food, service and ambience are all top notch here. The moment you step in the smell is almost as inviting as the pleasant hostess ready to help you. Walking to your table the décor and atmosphere is great, highlighted by a giant fireplace on the wall. The menu is elegant yet unpretentious and the food is delicious. The crab bisque soup was poured at the table, with a hot bowl to keep the correct temperature. The bread was warm and fresh out of the over served with a couple different butters. The steak was cooked perfectly and was delicious. Even the chocolate velvet cake dessert was top notch. Our server, Jason, provided exemplary service. Having been in the fine dining service industry myself, I unfortunately notice the little things that could have been done better, but Jason was spot on in every regard. He even pulled the salt and pepper shakers during dessert which is a practice that often gets overlooked. I'm not usually a fan of chain restaurants but J Gilberts gets it right in every way. read more

I googled best steak houses in St. Louis and it popped up with 10. This place was the first one recommended and after I read the latest review from Nov 3 2018 I didn't look any further. My best friend and I came here from Peoria Illinois. In Peoria Alexander's is the top steak house. This place made Alexander's look like the McDonald's of steak houses. Very classy, elegant, upscale, place. I felt a little under dressed but our waitress Nicole D (Nikki) said, "no way you're fine!" The food was amazing, service was outstanding, and the coconut 7 layer cake was to die for. I had the sirloin and crab cake which included a salad, I chose Cesar and let me tell you it was delicious. I loved the fried cheese crisp on top. It also came with dessert and 2 sides which I choose the au gratin potatoes and lobster Mac n cheese and NY cheesecake. All superb! Let's just say I blew my diet today and I'm not sorry!! I can't say enough good things about this place. I was super impressed! Highly recommended! read more

I very much like this place ... although I was a bit disappointed so they barely get 4 stars. I had one of the best dinners ever at the Overland Park location last year so I had high expectations when I heard they were coming to town. The downgrade is mostly due to service, although it wasn't bad, it was all about timing and at a place like this, particularly with the prices you are paying, you don't want to feel rushed and that's exactly what it was. I even commented each time they brought something out that they were too fast ... not sure they were getting the hint. Ordered was the salmon with potatoes and green beans. Salmon was FAR from being cooked medium rare and while it tasted good, we did send it back. I am still not sure how it got cooked up to level in 5 minutes being it was about 2" thick but they did. Sides were very good. Also ordered were the scallops with lobster risotto, excellent. Nice touches were the large portion of hot bread and two different butters before the meal. Also ordered was the calamari which was pretty decent. They get 5 stars for atmosphere ... a pretty cool setting I think, very warm and comfortable and a variety of seating. Food was 4 star at least, even with the salmon mishap. Desserts were just okay in my mind but maybe someone else would like them better. This place still has potential to live up to their reputation but if they don't watch the service it won't really matter, that will keep some people away alhough not enough to be a problem. When you have dinner at a place like J Gilberts you expect the highest level of service and that comes from the top. Someone needs to focus. read more

This place was awesome! Even better than I expected! We ordered the Wagyu burger with a side a sweet potato fries and the the filet mignon with a side of asparagus and brussel sprouts. The burger was decently seasoned and had perfect melted cheese on top. The onion jam on top provided the perfect sweet to the burger's salt. The sweet potato fries are skinny fries and are the prettiest, brightest shade of orange I've ever seen! They had a nice texture and good seasoning. Now, the filet mignon was incredible! It had one of the most amazing textures I've ever experienced in a steak. It also had a very strong pepper flavor that was perfect! The asparagus great and the brussel sprouts with pancetta were everything I want out of life! I will definitely visit this place again! read more

The gem of restaurant circle at WestCo Mall! I've been looking for a Keg, or Houston's since moving back east, and J. Gilberts more than suffices. My wife and I with plans to go to Bravo for a NYE dinner quickly changed our minds when we walked by the new J. Gilberts and smelled meat being grilled. Nothing more spectacular smell than a burning cow when you are starving. We decided to go into J. Gilberts to check it out and see what the scene was like inside. Nicely lit, kind of rustic, big bar, and the wall of fire in the dining area was pretty cool. All in all, a much better atmosphere for mom, and dad having a nice NYE dinner than bright Bravo!. Bravo is awesome, however the decor reminds me of eating at a casino, or Cheese Cake Factory at night. Weird huh? During the day Bravo looks better inside. Anyway, this is not about Bravo!. When we went in and asked to be put down for a table, the hostess said it was going to be quite a wait because of reservations/NYE hoopla. We decided to sit at the bar and wait for a table. HUGE MISTAKE (but in a good way)! This ended up setting us back a few dollars because we had over an hour and 30 to kill, and their drink menu is pretty appealing. We had the ahi tuna app which was great. Reminded me of ceviche, but an ahi tuna version. I tried the J. Gilberts Manhattan which was excellent as well. PS. The Bartender, a short blonde girl was super friendly, and made us a couple of great martinis as well. As my wife and I got lost in our drinks, and conversation the bartender told us she was going to check and see when we would be seated. She came back and brought a hostess to seat us right away. Apparently the hostess (one was nice, and the other was kind of snobby) the snobby one... forgot to put us down. I literally stood infront of her and told her to put us down. Whatever... she probably came from Drunken Fish. Once we were seated it was all good. Our server was bad ass. She could sell, and knew her menu very well. She was drilling down into the dish when explaining her favorites. She took care of us, was pleasant, and she rocked it. I think it was only her and another guy who had our part of the dinning room, and there wasn't a lack of service whatsoever. The food.... For the money, this food is outstanding. The fillet combo thing is a great deal, my wife got that, and the crab cakes which were both awesome. She loved the crab cakes, and is a crab cake nut. 9 out of 10 she would take crab over steak any day of the week, but she said her fillet was so good, she had to stop eating the crab cakes in order to not miss out on the fillet. BTW, the mushroom risotto was pretty damn good. Oh, wait... the crab bisque, was excellent, and the way they present it is a nice touch. I got the 18 oz rib-eye which was perfect. So good, I was stuffed, nearly catatonic from trying to digest that delicious chunk of cow. I could have hibernated after that dinner. Next trip back I am going for the big KC strip. Not sure what the wife will go with though. Great night at J. Gilberts. You can definitely get out of there for under 100 before tip. Drinks, and apps will push that number a little higher. I was not familiar with J. Gilberts... that is, until a blitz of ads trumpeting this new spot in West County Mall hit the airwaves around the holidays last year. Knowing that it would be unwise to brave the mall during the thick of Christmas/NYE, we opted to wait until the initial hype had faded. Having come here for dinner last week, I'm happy to report that J. Gilbert's is a civilized, low key addition to 'restaurant circle' at West County Mall. Dinner reservations were for 6:30. Since everyone in our party was at the restaurant early, we decided to sit at the bar to partake of the drinks and appetizer specials on offer. Having dinner reservations, we held off on the appetizers and turned our attention to the libations. I went with the lemondrop martini, a generous pour considering that the shaker served alongside it still contained at least another glass in addition to what the server had already poured. In fact, the happy hour drinks sufficed to such an extent that none of us even ordered wine when it came time to be seated for dinner. My only nit to pick with the lemondrop martini was that the bar staff could have eased up on the sugar rimming. When the glass was presented, I could make out only the faintest suggestion of the lip and the surplus sugar overshadowed some of the tartness that I would have preferred in this drink. As to the dinner itself, I would definitely make a return visit. I had scoped out the online menu ahead of time, so I knew that I would be going with the 4 oz. fillet combo with the St. George's seared scallops. The sides that I chose--roasted yukon gold potatoes and sauteed spinach--were well-executed. Not knowing what to expect in terms of portion size, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the plates were well presented and the serving sizes were not obscene. On a return visit, I would be tempted to try the lobster mac and cheese ($3 upcharge), either as a standalone item or a side dish. The service throughout the dinner was unobtrusive and professional. At no point did we feel rushed. It so happened that the same server who assisted us with our selections at the bar also guided us through the dining experience (high marks for continuity). For those who are looking to enjoy well prepared steaks and seafood in a leisurely, club-like atmosphere, J. Gilbert's is a must-try. read more

Excellent experience from start to finish. The service was just right - attentive but not TOO attentive. We decided to order app, salad entree + dessert and just take our time and share everything. The front and back of house team split everything for us and we didn't even have to ask. For starters we had the pretzel crusted onion rings. They're served with three house made sauces that are such contrasting flavor profiles it's hard to choose a favorite. The 8oz fillet was as savory and smooth as butter and cooked just right. We chose the poblano au gratin potatoes (baked with crispy edges) and grilled asparagus for sides and they were the perfect compliment to the filet. We saved room for the 7 layer coconut cake for good reason. This is our favorite dessert ever (sorry Cooper's Hawk chocolate cake!) With not-too-sweet sweetness, and the crunch of toasted coconut and crushed macadamia nuts, the perfect subtle touch of tart passion fruit coulis makes every bite perfect. read more

Gilbert's is one of the first places in St. Louis I've found to cook a perfect blue steak. Yes, J. Gilbert's is pricey so consider it the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. Yes, J. Gilbert's is in a mall. Technically it's on the outside of the West County "Dove" mall. It's in the same outdoor plaza that houses Bravo and McCormick & Schmick's. The interior design has a nice warm feeling. Pete and I arrived early and had a pre dinner cocktail. Bar Staff was attentive and made a good drink. I was surprised how crowded the bar was but to me that's a good thing. Drinks were pricey but you pay for where you are. Pete had a martini and I had of course a Blue Moon ;) Cost was 17.54 w/ tip was $21. (Yes, I don't believe in tipping a dollar for a drinks, RUDE!) I love a simple set table. Elegant yet simple. No strange centerpieces to look around or candles to distract. Our server Joseph was beyond competent. He was helpful and extremely knowledgeable of the both the food and wine menu. I find this helpful when trying to pair a wine with my meal. I had the 4oz filet with sea scallops. As I've previously stated my filet was cooked to "my" perfection. I asked for as rare as it can be cooked, Joseph asked do you like blue? I almost fell out of my seat! Finally someone in St. Louis who knows what blue is and will actually ask you if you want it cooked blue! HEAVEN! I've stopped asking for blue steak long ago as most servers look at me like I have snakes coming out of my head. The scallops were divine! My sides were poblano au gratin potatoes and grilled asparagus. The asparagus while cooked well were just a tad larger than I like. However I ate them all so what does that said :) I like wine but I always have such a hard time finding one that I like that pairs well with what I'm eating. I love Les Bourgeois Riverboat Red (ok laugh now) but that really doesn't pair with anything. Last night I had a red blend from Ghost Pines out of California. It was a perfect dark wine with a smooth taste without an alcohol bite. Everyone in our party reported their meals were good. I do want to mention Pete who rarely even has one drink had a second martini last night His second choice was a sparkling blackberry martini. It smells phenomenal so I had to take a sip! It was yummy. Like my food, I'm not crazy about sweet things however I would actually order this martini if the mood was right. (Recipe for Pete: SPARKLING BLACKBERRY MARTINI Stoli Vodka, Chambord, fresh squeezed lemon juice, pure cane syrup, Ruffino Prosecco float garnished with blackberries and lemon) Since it was a birthday celebration there was dessert. My favorite dessert when out is cheesecake. I always just want a bite or two so Pete and I split. Very good, a tad overly sweet but good. The best part was their coffee. Oh my it smelled phenomenal and tasted equally good. I have nothing negative to report. If you ever need a place to celebrate a special occasion or just want an exceptional meal for the heck of it, I highly recommend J. Gilbert's. Steaks here are an excellent value. Mary had the filet, and I had the strip, and both of us were very happy with the tenderness, flavor, and seasoning. Sides were also very good and were included in the price, which adds to the value of the steak dinner. If I go back, I'll get one of the steak entrees again but skip the salad, appetizer, and wine. We had no issues with the food quality or service, but the value of the other parts of the meal were just not as high. At $7 or 8 each for a salad, plus $10 or so each for a glass of wine, and $17 for a (very good) crab cake appetizer, the bill was $100 before tip but after subtracting the $30 coupon we had. We enjoyed the meal, but we've had better for less money. Interestingly, while leaving, we each received a $25 coupon for our next visit. That definitely helps, and it was appreciated. Service was attentive but not deserving of 4 or 5 stars. I had to ask for a fork for my steak after I used the first two on my crab cake and salad. Waiters didn't seem to know how to get the bread and appetizer plates situated on the table, and there were only two of us at a booth that would seat four. These are just small things, but we both thought the place was unjustifiably pretentious for the service they provided. Food quality was excellent, and I highly recommend that people try them for their steaks and sides. We might go back, but we didn't leave feeling like we had to return. My four- and five-star ratings are reserved for those places that we must visit again. read more

Always a wonderful evening out when we dine at J Gilbert's. We were celebrating my wife's birthday, so she knew what she wanted before we even sat down - the filet mignon & scallops combo, with sides of potatoes au gratin & green beans with pecans. It didn't disappoint! Since I enjoy the sliders when we do the wine tastings at the bar on Mondays, I decided to get the full 10 oz burger on pretzel bun with a side of brussels sprouts. It was perfectly prepared and big enough that I brought half home, along with half of my wife's potatoes! Very generous portions here! My wife also got to pick out a birthday dessert, so she chose the coconut-pineapple layer cake, which was big enough for us to share and still bring half the cake home!!! Our server did an excellent job with plenty of attention and good sense of humor. All in all, a wonderful meal and dining experience! read more

Oh boy. Where to begin. We walked in, there was a hostess at the station, looked at us, said nothing. Maybe she was busy, so we just waited. Finally, another hostess walked up, greeted us, checked us in, and after a brief wait, sat us. Neither one of the hostesses smiled and gave off a vibe that they didn't really want to be at work. They get 2 stars. Our waitress started off very strong, a great understanding and knowledge of the specials as well as the menu. She would have gotten 5 stars, but once she cleared the table of the appetizer plates, she cleared out as well. She waited until the very end of the meal to inform us that she had been rotated into the bar, for a restaurant of this reputation that was a rookie move. After appetizers, the quickest she was, was when we asked for the check. Didnt really have to wait long for that. Dinner plates sat on the table for over 15 minutes. I waited 8-10 for another drink. Would have stayed longer, a few more drinks and dessert, but we were unhappy with waiting. I didnt see a single waiter, or waitress, smile the entire night. Even the general Manager, no smile. So here is how everything breaks down: Hostess station: 2 stars Waitress: 1 star Waitress attentiveness: 2 stars Food: 5 stars (many compliments to the kitchen crew and chef) Average it all out, two and half stars, but there is no way, based solely on the table service, I will round up to three stars. read more

This place is not anything special compared to other steak restaurants. I prefer more substance than the superficial. Went to this place for my birthday in New Year's Day. I would of expect this place to be packed and a live, but it was on the contrary. It tells a lot about the restaurant when you have a full room of empty chairs. I'm a pure carnivore, so I ordered steak. Steak was ok, not much flavor or tenderness. I was disappointed but I shouldn't expect much from a restaurant that's by a mall. I'm just going to get right to it. I dream about the pretzel crusted onion rings. They're thick cut--about an inch or more and are served with three sauces. The rings themselves are so perfectly done that they really don't need any type of sauce. However, the sauces are pretty amazing too. My husband likes their aged whiskey and says the manhattans are good. I order wine and usually opt for the 6 oz pour, but a 9 oz is also available if you like to fill that glass. Subpar service, dried out medium well steak and just overall mediocre. I decided on a weekday date night with my wife, I ordered the 10 oz steak with lobster Mac and cheese and creamed corn. The waiter brings out after a long wait, a dried out inedible steak, potatoes au gratin and creamed corn. I could only manage to eat 1/3 of the steak and none of the sides, the waiter takes my food, boxes it up and brings it back to sit it on the floor. I had the pleasure to meet a amazing waitress named Sarah. She made my experience here so delightful. She was very knowledgeable about menu. Any question I had she took her time to explain them and her suggestion was dead on when I've tried the items. I hate I didn't get any pictures of my plate. J. Gilberts was a pleasant surprise for a small chain located at a mall. I enjoyed the ambiance it made me think of something similar to a NY establishment I visit on business. The main entrees were spot on and I was impressed that I was dining in STL. We started off sharing the tomato mozzarella salad which was a little disappointing. Nothing spectacular something that I could make better. The tomato used were disappointing and I don't think they were even heirlooms. For my main meal I chose the signature pork chop. The chop and the two sides I felt where fairly priced. My sides were the brocollini and spinach. I thought the spinach could have been more flavorful with some salt and maybe broth. But even though I wasn't impressed with the sides the chop won me. I also tried my friends filet and it was delicious. I am excited to go back and try more of the menu. read more

I've been back to J Gilbert's several times and it never disappoints. A solid dining experience every time. I absolutely adore their Five Citrus Martini and it's a much better deal on happy hour. My friend is addicted to their manhattans, so we end up going quite a bit. Somehow I always get suckered into staying for dinner when I just stopped in for one drink! I can't resist the smell of steak! My most recent stop was on NYE. I made a reservation on Open Table and it was slightly annoying to get an email and two phone calls reminding me of my reservation. Both calls asked me to call them back, which just bugs me. If I hadn't gotten their message would they have cancelled? Minor irritations, in that I wasn't allowed to keep the shaker from my martini, so I missed out on that extra bit of deliciousness that's always left over after the first pour. I also wanted my dessert to go but unlike their sister restaurant Bristol, they didn't have any containers to pack up raspberry ice cream to go with my chocolate cake. So sad! Not a bad place, but be prepared to pay. Nice decor and attentive service (we ate at the bar bc it was so crowded). Food: 1) Mixed green salad - pretty good (loved the addition of pine nuts!) 2) Steak Frites - steak was cooked to the right temp and the sweet potato fries were good 3) Pork chop + mushroom risotto + green beans - perfectly cooked pork chop. Not really a fan of the fruit topping (I think it was grapes?), but the hubby thought it was great. I personally hate fruit with meat. The mushroom risotto was delicious. While the food was great, I thought it was overpriced for what it was. There's another local "steakhouse" where the prices are about half of what it is here (and tastes just as good). read more
