Filet and shrimp were great. Plate if 500 degrees. Steak (8/10) was well seasoned, cooked to proper temp. Shrimp (10/10) were large, tasty. Cajun seasoning. Would get this again. For my daughter's birthday we went to Ruth Chris. One daughter had the salmon, the other had the garlic crusted sea bass, it needed a little more seasoning, that's where the four stars come in. I had my usual stuffed chicken breast. Nice, dimly lit room with smooth sounds playing gave me that Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong type of vibe. Service was excellent. We asked for the upstairs area and when we got to our table we were placed in the back far north corner, our bad we should have said no, we looked at a wall and the exit sign. It has been a while since we last ate here. This past Sunday, we went here again and the food was good. There were four of us today and we did have a reservation and were seated right away. We got the lobster mac n cheese and seafood tower for appetizers to share. There were three of us with similar tastes so we got three entrees of shrimp and steaks, with sides such as cream spinach and mash potatoes etc. The other person to our party got salmon as the main entree. [June 2025] My family and I came here for Father's Day. Parking was a bit chaotic. I ended up having to park by the hotel next door to it. We had reservations so we were seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive. This was my first time ever at a Ruth's Chris Steak House location, so I didn't know what to really expect. I was handed a tablet to look the drink options. I started off with the Pearl of the Tropics and it looked just like the picture! I tried some of my brother's Wildberry Lemonade. I also ordered a Whiskey Basil Smash and a Cosmopolitan. All the drink were amazing! For my entree, I ordered the 16oz ribeye with fire roasted corn. We shared some sides as a table, so I tried the garlic mashed potatoes which were really good. we are repeat customers and have spoken highly of the restaurant for years. we brought friends from out of town to celebrate our anniversarys and our experience was very disappointing. Out server John was great! Two of our steaks were over cooked and had to be redone leaving two us with our meals and two without when the steaks were brought back one was the wrong steak completely and the other was extemely undercooked and we were still charged for the more expensive steak we didn't receive the gm did not come to the table until we requested him and he blamed the issues on our server. this won't be out first choice moving forward. read more

Ruth Chris Parking Scam. I just had dinner at Ruth Chris tonight. I saw the complimentary parking. The guy wanted me to pay him 40$ to park the car in the complimentary parking. While coming out he was telling the other kid that that was on parking duty "dude I charge 20$ and if I don't like someone I charge them 40$." I did not give my car to him and parked it myself. Ruth Chris is a consistent steak-house chain that typically doesn't fail to deliver on quality of food expected. The garlic mashed are my favorite staple side dish here but today we ventured out to try two different types of fries. The French fries were your typically good seasoned fry that won't disappoint but they are not unique in flavor. The shoe string fries were enough to feed at least 5 people if you're on a budget looking to split their sides. Side note: did you know that for a majority of the sides you can do a half order? After coming here for a few years I sometimes even surprise the wait staff with it as there's nowhere on the menu that it states this as an option and typically they won't just come out and tell you. If you're looking to celebrate a birthday or anniversary this is the place to come as they do give you a dessert on the house of your choice. The petite filet steak today was good and I did try it with the au poive which for $8 I would pass on as the butter on the steak is good enough and the aupoive was just okay. Overall, I give a 3 out of 5 because nothing really wows me to make me want to come back time and time again. It's your middle of the road steakhouse. Chesterfield has very strict rules on clothing which for a chain steakhouse is a bit much and surprising. While you can book on open table, you are not allowed to show cleavage, have any sort of cap on, and really if you are dressed casual you will either not be allowed in or must sit at the bar. If you find yourself sitting at the bar and they didn't tell you, just know that you were selected for to sit in that area for a reason. The front desk host did have a very revealing top though. We were dressed in sweaters and pants (it's a Sunday night and winter) and still got sat in the bar area. Make sure your children do not have shorts or any t-shirts or hoodies on. You don't want to be surprised by the requirements even if they are young. At other Ruth Chris's I've seen them be much more lax. Jaime was our server and she was great! Very attentive. read more

We had super long wait times from the minute we sat down until the minute we tried to pay our bill so we could leave. I recently hosted a small event this past Saturday at the RC-Chesterfield location and had an outstanding experience. I arrived early and was warmly greeted by the General Manager, Joey, who graciously allowed me early access to the room and assisted with setup, including connecting my computer to the AV system. He then introduced me to John, who took over for the remainder of the event. John provided exceptional service--he was highly professional, greeted each guest, and ensured everything ran smoothly without any delays or unmet needs. The level of service exceeded my expectations, and the facility was clean and well-maintained. Had a 4:45 reservation (party of 6), so they were not busy, but it still took our server (L.) over 10 minutes to greet our table. Then it took another 20 minutes for our party to get our drinks. The table decorations for such a pricey place were laughable: some silly fake candle and a couple of strands of Mardi Gras beads were just thrown on the table! Mind you, I can go to Chick-Fil-A on any random Tuesday at 2:30 and have fresh flowers on my table, but Ruth's Chris can't do that?! Other than this, it's a beautiful restaurant. My hubby was the only one who truly enjoyed his food, but he was still brought a wrong item. (They did eventually bring out the correct item, but they had to rush it--because once we realized the mistake, we couldn't get our waiter's attention--and it ended up being runny.) I ordered the stuffed chicken "Ruth's pairing" with French onion soup (not terrible) and garlic mashed potatoes, which had no garlic and barely any salt. Stuffed chicken was pretty good, but food is overall bland. My "pairing" was priced at $52, but the way they tabulated the meal (item by item), we were actually charged $53. It's only a dollar, but it's the principle of the matter, and our bill for 6 people was $811! Waiter was unwilling to split our check--ostensibly because since parties of 6 or more have a 20% gratuity grafted on to the bill, he wanted that $126+ guaranteed tip, and his was not great service. (Of course he did not say that, but that's how all of us felt when we were doing algebra to figure out how much each couple owed.) He was not attentive, but he was professional and fairly cordial. He was not efficient and was slow to respond to our table's needs/wants. Based on this visit, I would not return. Nor would any of the other 6 people, and 3 of us were there celebrating birthdays. Seated at a table near the bar, customers at the bar smelled so strongly of cannabis had to request a different table. Wait staff not attentive at all. Had to ask for water, silverware, bread and butter. Wait staff brought 3 salads to the table but forgot the soup for one of the customers. The food itself was delicious. I can't believe their technology is so archaic that they couldn't accommodate us as every other restaurant in St Louis has for us when llwe dine together regularly. That forced to us spend nearly 20 minutes to calculate what each of us owed. It required summing what each of us owed and calculate the tax and tip. I ordered my go too which is the raspberry cosmo and lemon drop. I then stepped outside the box and tried a spicy margarita. 10/10. I didn't even like margaritas but Jessica the bartender reassured me I wouldn't be disappointed and I wasn't. I pacifically came to this location for the sea bass, not all of the RC has it as an option on the menu. It was definitely a 10/10! I'm not a fan of the garlic crust it's comes with, so I modify it and have them blackened it. They were running a chef's special that night, which was a bone in ribeye with garlic shrimp on top. I can't even rate this dish with numbers it was SO good the chef deserved a kiss! lol I also ordered the seafood gumbo, seared ahi tuna, and lobster mac and cheese. Everything was a 10/10. There were only three of us for Thanksgiving this year and I decided I wasn't going to cook a big dinner for three people! My husband and I looked online for restaurants that would be open and chose Ruth's Chris. I made a reservation and that was the extent of my Thanksgiving prep! We arrived and had to wait just a few minutes for them to set up our table. We were seated and told a server would be with us shortly. Our server came over and asked us what type of water we wanted and asked if we wanted a cocktail menu. Yes, we did. So he brought an iPad over. I'm not a fan of that method, but I am a fan of cocktails. We made our choices and he eventually came and took our drink orders - and the iPad. He also informed us that he and one other server were the only two people serving the entire area where we were seated. I read that as, we'll get to you when we can. Our cocktails took a very long time to be served. Like a crazy long time. We got our food faster than our drinks! But they were good when we finally got them! We had thought, incorrectly, that the Thanksgiving meal they had was our only option, but the full menu was available. Two of us went with the turkey dinner and my husband ordered off the menu. He made a good choice. We did not. The mashed potatoes were the best part of the dinner. The carrots were tasty but barely lukewarm. The turkey, gravy, and stuffing were below average. There was also not nearly enough gravy. And whatever cranberry stuff they served was truly awful. I left way more on my plate than I consumed. The dessert was good though! The restaurant was full and it was also beautifully decorated for the holidays. It was cold out and we really appreciated the valet parking. We had not made a reservation and it was last minute. We were able to sit at the bar and have dinner. The bar seats were very comfortable. My daughter was visiting from out of town and my husband and I wanted to treat her to a nice dinner. There is a big WOW! factor when you walk into the dining room. The ambiance is amazing! The bar was a nice size for food portions and the service was impeccable. Water was immediately placed in front of us and orders were placed afterwards. We all ordered from Ruth's Classics: The caesar salad was delicious, the dressing just popped, when you ate it. I had the Filet Oscar, prepared medium rare. Very delicious, I really wanted to salt it a little, but did not. I had very little lump crab and the sauce was delicious. The steak was mouthwatering. OMG-the creamed spinach was very good, rich and savory. The corn was a tex mex mixture and was very delicious. We ordered a bottle of wine: Justin Cabernet Sauvignon-very delicious, mild and fruity and not really dry. This was a great choice for us. I felt like we did better ordering from the Classics because it ranged from $60-$70 for the meat, salad and entree. This is my third time eating at Ruth's Chris. Each time I am just flabbergasted at the bill! Is it worth it? Definitely. I will always come back for a great meal, beautiful and nice ambiance, and great service. read more

Steaks were average in flavor and looked small on the plate because everything is served a la carte, small portions and average offerings for sides that are intended for sharing, shrimp entre was over cooked and tough, lobster bisque was lukewarm, and the service for our large party was again, very average. Desserts were the redeaming part of the meal...carrot cake and chocolate...most people enjoy these. This was a VERY expensive /overly priced meal for 12 people. How to improve...plate differently, offer a side with the entre for value, more creative side choices, and quality control on shrimp dishes, soup, and in general what leaves the kitchen. We sat in the bar and ordered the burgers and we each had 2 beers. Burgers are absolutely fabulous and did not disappoint. Can highly recommend them, especially on a Thursday. But the beers are so over priced. The draft IPA was $15/glass and a bottle of Mich Ultra was $8/bottle. That was Happy Hour pricing. Wow, quite the shock when the bill came. What can I say about one of my favorite restaurants on earth. This restaurant is legendary among steakhouses. Their prime cuts of meat are simply unmatched in the industry. They raise their own cattle and processor their own meat. Their steaks are broiled at 1800° to absolute perfection and then served on a 500° plate With sizzling butter, it does not get any better than this. Their Caesar salad is incredible.
