Even after years of taking our company work vehicles there. I was done! Then one day a gentleman walked into my office selling discount cards to United Auto and I thought I'd give them a try. Still walking distance from my office. I am so happy I tried them! I have been now 4 times over the past year or so for oil changes, breaks, tire sensors. Each time, I have been greeted by friendly staff, prompt text message responses with fair quotes and constant communication on anything that was beyond the expected service. I drop off in the morning and he always has my car done by end of business (at my request). Mohammad is very fair with his pricing which is so very hard to come by. He doesn't try to upsell, quite the opposite. He'll guide me in what may need to be done soon, what can wait and what is a must do. I can't help but smile each time I go there as they're just so friendly and happy! The discount card may have run out, but I continue to go back and finally feel I've found a quality and honest mechanic, especially as my Chevy has topped 100k miles. A&A also looked up my specific VIN to see the exact maintenance my car needed due to variations in the makes. They told me that some of my planned maintenance was actually unnecessary and would waste money. They know my car better than me! These guys go above and beyond. They don't just maintain or fix your car; they let you know everything you need to know about potential issues, future maintenance, better options, etc. I'll definitely be going back.

I brought in a new…read moreto me 1993 LS400 that was leaking oil from the valve covers, barely failed the 25mph portion of the smog test for hydrocarbons, and I asked about a timing belt job as well as possible spark plugs and wires. I left the car and agreed to the diagnostic fee. No issues there. Darlene called me back and confirmed that the valve covers were indeed leaking, and provided a quote of around $1,000. I asked if it needed a timing belt job or if the tech thought it could also be camshaft/crankshaft seals. She put me on hold and then said "Oh yeah, it needs a timing belt job too." Not sure why she wasn't prepared with that information, but it seemed odd. The quote for that was above $2,500. I then asked about the smog and Darlene told me I had lazy catalytic converters and that they needed to be replaced at almost $3k. All in all, the quote was going to be $6,500+. I don't know if this diagnostic was malicious or simply negligent, but either way it was unacceptable. I picked up the car the next day and took it to another shop. The other shop told me I didn't need new cats, then did the valve cover gaskets, timing belt job, spark plugs & wires for about $1,000 cheaper. They also replaced the PCV valve I provided ($20 part) for free and the car passed smog with flying colors. Sure the cats may have fixed it, but you shouldn't go with the nuclear option first, at the expense of the customer.

Our son's Ram 2500 diesel was having transmission problems and we took it to Empire Automotive on a Thursday for diagnostics. Chris called me the next morning to let me know the transmission was in fact toast and would need replacement. However, he had good news for us. He saw a warranty sticker on the transmission and called the company and found out the transmission was still under warranty. The transmission company sent out a replacement transmission free of charge and helped cover the cost of the installation. Chris installed the new transmission and made sure it was all dialed in by the following Wednesday. I was only charged for the diagnostic and installation of the transmission, which was very reasonably priced and I will get reimbursed for a big chunk of it from the transmission company to boot. I appreciate their honesty and integrity with their customers, and I never felt like they were trying to pad their profits. Just good folks looking out for their customers. They could have just as easily ignored the sticker, like I'm sure occurs more than we know at other garages, and charged us for a transmission as well, since we had no idea the transmission had a warranty when we bought it. They have certainly won my trust and I will not hesitate to take my vehicles there going forward. The entire staff is friendly, honest, and knowledgeable and their turn around time was much quicker than expected. Based on my experience, I absolutely recommend them to anybody!

I am super particular when it comes to my vehicles (make that "obsessive") and always want the best for them when it comes to service and how they are cared for. Empire was very accommodating with my desire to use my preferred fluids of choice (Amsoil) and provide them myself. Chris was also very helpful in getting my vehicle in and out in a timely manner and it was ready right when he said it would be. Everyone in their office was so nice and pleasant to deal with (particularly Gabby) and I had such a good feeling with the entire experience even as a first time customer. I felt like my car was in very good hands and I will absolutely be coming back as a repeat customer in the future. The pricing was also incredibly reasonable for what I had done! I'm very fortunate that their shop is within about a 2 minute walk of my house, so it makes a great thing even better when you feel you have an honest and dependable "neighborhood" mechanic. He said no problem since I was the first appointment that day. Dropped my car off at 8am. 4 hours later I get a call saying they won't have enough time to do the coolant service and wont be able to do that transmission service either. I was then informed making an appointment has no priority and they had other things to do first. Even though I was the first one at the shop. 7 hours was not enough time apparently.
