Words can't describe how much I love Jacalito grill. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in all of rosedale!!! The service is insanely amazing and quick even on extremely busy days! One of my favorite parts about this restaurant is their bar and bartender they make some of the best margaritas! Every time I come in now they bring me a spicy margarita without me even having to order it because their customer service is so on point! The servers are ALWAYS awesome and friendly. It's one of my favorite restaurants to eat at in town. It feels like cheers where everyone knows your name, even though they don't necessarily know my name they know my order down to a T! Combo chicken and steak fajitas with a side of toretos ( probably spelled or pronounced wrong) but a side of 3 grilled jalapeños with an extra side if cilantro! I don't know what seasoning they use for their fajitas but hold smokes it's amazing! I truly love this place!!! read more

This was our first visit to this restaurant. The service was impeccable. Very friendly staff and fun environment. The food was tasty . Had the enchilada and taco combo. Yummy. This place is over priced and the food is below average. The beer is lukewarm and the plates come out short. The seasoning is off on the enchilada sauce and the fajitas come with a small spoon of guacamole and a small spoon of sour cream. Sad... I believe it's out of Convenience that people stop here. If I could give no stars I completely would. I took my mother here with my family for Mothers Day 2017. We were seated in the back, and had service fairly quickly. I ordered a coke and a water with lemon. The water came back with soap in it. Of course the taste was disgusting, but the after effect on my stomach was terrible. I brought it to the attention of a server who treated me like I was plague. It could have all been fixed if they would have apologized and brought me a new water.... The waiter that escalated the situation made a comment that led me to believe he was going to mess with my family's food. I spoke with the manager and he was of zero use, so I left. My sister and I went here for lunch one Sunday. The prices are seriously ridiculous. The food was good, but for my sister, myself, and my 2 year old niece, we paid like $40. We would have gone to Rueben's had it not been so busy. Jacalito's was empty, so there was no wait. I still would have rather ate somewhere where the prices were reasonable, but oh well. Great place for dinner and drinks. The bar is relatively noisy, the restaurant noise is about average. I like that is roomy inside and the atmosphere is inviting. The service is good the waiter's have always been friendly in my experience. I will always be a returning customer. Great place to come relax after a long work week. read more

If you are in the market for subpar Mexican food at exorbitant prices, this is the place for you! The three of us spent $75 for: - guacamole that was bland-with very old tasting Pico de gallo mixed in. - crappy iced tea & coffee (how do you screw that up?) - tap water that tasted like it was from a garden hose. - greasy and flavorless tacos. - unseasoned & dry chicken/shredded beef enchiladas. - rice & beans seriously lacking in flavor and quantity. One thing that was free....,was the nasty smell of greasy tacos imbedded in my husbands shirt that we immediately had to wash when we got home. The increase in prices here, absolutely do not warrant the poor quality food. To be fair, the service was good, though. We will not be back...see ya! read more

This is our last time going to jacalitos :/ we have been loyal customers for about 2 years and sad to say they have lost us. We went to this place weekly for a long time and have seen them get cheaper and cheaper! (Not price wise that has went up) But what has happened is they started to cut back on chips & salsa. Not a big deal but its the one thing that makes them better than the several other options around. If you are eating in then just keep getting more. But when you order out its a different story. If you ask for extra then you get the option of buying extra chips or salsa.. and even if you pay extra for the 32 oz cup of salsa they still short you on chips. So the next option is to buy more chips.. for a family of 4 it used to cost a little over 30$ (about 2 yrs ago) and you got plenty of chips and salsa.. now its over 40 and if you want enough chips and salsa for everyone its well over 50. Not a killer if you got the $$, but what was a deal breaker for me is when I called in to speak to the manager, the hostess that answered the phone told me no he was busy. Then when I started to explain my issue I was cut off and told of the options to buy more (pretty rudely). The way I see it if you're going to buy 40-50 dollars worth of mexican food on a weekly basis I am pretty used to chips and salsa being part of the package. So in short, I AM DONE! I think there was cinnamon with the chili relleno. Which was a very odd flavor in my opinion. The staff is very friendly. The prices aren't bad. Nice clean restaurant. Taco Tuesdays. Happy Hour. Beer. That about sums up my reasons to come here. Their happy hours specials run later into the evening, so kudos for that. Their tacos are pretty average and I thought they were lousy until I found the toppings bar hidden away in the corner. Their fried zucchini sticks are s'okay. Service is slow in the bar area and it takes awhile to get your food. The patio is nice in the spring and fall. Parking is horrible in that strip mall. It's OK, and that's about it. This spot is right by our house and since my family loves mexican, we frequent it. They are a great spot for little kids and love that we're rarely the only ones there with a toddler. In general, the service is quick and attentive and the food is yummy. Their chips and salsa are addicting, their enchiladas are wonderful, and their chile rellenos are made from real, fresh chilis. WARNING: if you notify them of someone's birthday, they take this as a request to sing. I know this is not unusual for a restaurant.However, what is, that when they do this, they bring out a plate of flan. Again, yes, bringing a dessert to the birthday person isn't strange either. BUT, adding the cost of the flan to your ticket because you "requested" they sing by merely mentioning someone's birthday is a bit irritating. The flan isn't expensive, but I'm not a fan of being charged for something I didn't' specifically order. If they are going to charge for such things, it should be stated explicitly. In our case, no one really liked flan, so we paid for something we didn't ask for or eat. With that said, in general, their food is good. Their fresh guacamole (made at the table - note you can order guacamole not made at the table, it is not as good) is amazing. Jacalito Grill is located in a strip mall off of Hageman Rd. The restaurant is nice with a traditional Mexican theme. There is a good size bar and a patio for those who like to dine alfresco. The restaurant staff provides good, friendly service. Complimentary chips and salsa are delivered to each table soon after you're seated. Here is where I was underwhelmed. I wasn't too crazy about the salsa. It was prepared with a darker, deeper red colored chile that I felt was lacking. Maybe it's because I prefer a cilantro based, or lemony tomatillo flavored salsas. It wasn't bad. It just didn't rate as highly as other salsas I've had. We ordered the taco and enchilada dinners. Both were good entrees. I do feel that the price is a bit on the higher end though. We have dined here several times. All in all, the food and service are good, and the patio is a cool place to hang out and enjoy a beer. read more

I have frequented this restaurant for years and recently noticed an insane price increase to the menu. For example Fajitas used to cost me $12.95 and now they are $17.95 that is a 39% increase. So let me say first our server was very nice and was quick with refills but what I didn't like was that he asked if we'd like to start with some chips and guacamole and we said sure and of course I knew they charged for it but not $13!! The server should have made that known. That is a ridiculous price! There were no prices on the drink menu . The food prices were way too much. I got shrimp fajitas for $22 and it was a tiny portion. This place is great for a week night or a weekend evening. Here, you find a relaxing atmosphere with great drinks and food. And let's be real here...constant bowls of chips and salsa is ideal, right? So, I've tried a few things at Jacalito Grill. I usually get their chicken salad. It sounds boring, but it's topped with a Mexican Caesar dressing and other delicious toppings. Most recently, I had the chicken empanadas at happy hour. They were filled with chicken and beans and served with a chipotle sauce. YUM. The prices here are pretty decent overall, but considering the quality of the food they are fantastic! I recommend Jacalito Grill for an easy night out. read more

Nice place. Chips and salsa came out immediately. Salsa was deep red with real chunks of onion and peppers, really good. It had just the right amount of heat to it. Tasty and hot I ordered the number 12, ( beef taco, chi ken enchilada, and shredded beef burrito) Started with the taco and it was so good I was hoping I didn't make a mistake ordering the others. The shredded beef burrito was very god as well; however it was almost all beef, very little anything else. The chicken enchilada was very tasty. Me and a couple girlfriends tried this place again for its Taco Tuesday. The service was great, our waitress was very attentive and patient (two of us sat around after dinner for about 15-20 minutes just drinking water). They're not the cheapest tacos in town, $1.50 for chicken and $2.50 for carne asada (versus $1 elsewhere), and they weren't as good as my first Taco Tuesday. I took away a star for that reason. By far the best place you can go to for Mexican food. ANYTIME of day, whether you're there in the morning for their signature Bloody Mary's or in the evening for shrimp tacos and cadillac margaritas, this place will not disappoint.
