Hubbers didn't feel like homecooked breakfast (if I didn't know any better, he just didn't want me to work, although I enjoy it) and opted for a supreme croissant breakfast sandwich at JIB instead. So, I went for a short drive. The one closer to home was closed due to a power outage (which sucked for the workers because they were there just hanging around outside waiting for what to do next.) This place was kinda around the corner (like within a couple of miles kind of corner) so the drive was no biggie. It also helped I was the only one going through the drive through. Got Hubber's preference and I went for the loaded breakfast sandwich sans cheese. VERDICT: the food was really good! Made to order is always a plus but the quality was beyond reasonable! It really hit that hunger spot head-on! So, my last experience with another JIB was that it was a little pricey. (Good, but a bit pricey.) This time felt a lot more reasonable. FOOD: 5. No snags here, even Hubbers liked his food. SERVICE: 3. Little interaction with the staff since it was a drive-thru experience. VALUE: 4. More than fair. PARKING: N/A. OVERALL: 4. I looked at the receipt and was given the option of doing a survey for a BOGO free sandwich (Supreme Croissant or Jumbo Jack.) I took advantage of this which made my next trip to another JIB even better. Keeping them in mind should the need for a quick grub come up!

This morning I was hurrying home and passed this way to pick up a bite to munch on. The drive Thur line was long but went by really fast! I even tried a new item that was advertised on the menu. $5.99 for The Cluck sandwich with a special sauce, fries and drink. The meal was good! I asked for an iced coffee mocha instead of the choice of soda. The coffee cup design it had was Christmas festive! Joy to the world and try this deal out so you don't miss out!

Okay, so this just happened. We decided to order some food from Jack in the box because my kids were hungry. While enjoying the mini tacos, the last piece of tacos almost went in my stomachs as well. For some odd reason, this piece of mini taco stared at me and stopped me from eating it. This is when I spotted a paper clip in the taco shell, it was actually embedded in the taco shell. Oh I definitely freaked out because I'm wondering WHAT IF my kids ate this. Well, I of course took a picture and sent it to corporate, I missed their call but I emailed back. No response what so ever. This is health hazards! This needs to be address asap! So people, please becareful!

Jack's customer service skills need to be resuscitated at this location.

Jack's Customer Service Skills Need to Be Resuscitated , STAT! SITREP GAH! "24 HR" it is NOT! I really don't want to go "HATIN" on JACK. Me and the Jack at this locale have had a strong mutually beneficial relationship going back almost 15 years. He's been there for me to help with the post-SF Clubbing munchies as my carpool - or myself solo - go trekking back on that (seemingly) long drive to Sacramento. From Breakfast Jacks, 2 for $1 Tacos, and the occasional Sourdough combo, Jack has satisfied the internal combustion needs of my system just as much as the Chevron next door satisfies the gas tank of my vehicle. But..... "IF IT SAYS 24 HRS YOU SHOULD BE FREAKIN OPEN!" ...this is the 3rd time in a row that I've hit the Pinole Valley Jack-in-the-Box between the hours of 3am and 4:00am and YOU (Jack) have been closed! Some shit-poor excuse of conducting "system maintenance". Well guess what - if you SAY you are open "24 HRS" but you are CLOSED consistently between the hours of 3am-4am, then you are NOT "24 HRS", are you? This is not difficult arithmetic to surmise and it's FALSE advertising to take offline ONE of the most important hours ("3am-4am") that would give you the bragging rights in the first place to SAY you are actually open "24 HRS." Change your freakin sign to "OPEN 23 HRS" and employ a bit more truth in advertising. THE LOWDOWN Your customer service SUCKS when you advertise one thing, but then you don't step up to the plate to meet YOUR OWN advertising.,,

But when they are charging extra for stuff which is already in the ingredients... we'll u gotta stop and pause. I've frequent this taqueria a hand full of times and it's the closest mission style taqueria up here in pinole. It's always good service, tasty dishes with decent prices. That's why us humans go back. BUT when u charge extra for a certain type of proteins, there's room for questioning. So I ordered super nachos with carne asada as my meat and a small bottle coke. The total amount came to $24.40, I was surprised. I looked closer to the receipt and it was an extra $2.00 for the asada. Please just add it on the price or put it on the menu "extra for Carne Asada" so we don't get a little receipt shock. $25 dollars for super nachos and a small bottle of coke. The wet super burrito is massive and mine was packed with carnitas, pinto beans and all the fixings. On their board menu it said "super wet burrito", so that confused me for a second. Lol. The nachos order is big too though I might ask for yellow cheese and pinto beans next time instead of shredded cheese and refried beans. I like their blend of horchata too. It was slow and not crowded for a Sunday after 6 pm. I filled some of the tiny round containers with sauces, limes, and marinated veggies while waiting for my to go order. There's a service charge for credit card payments. Normal for some places now.

Also like their birria pizza - whenever we have to feed a crowd (school potluck, hosting a large party, etc) this place is a great way to go.

I opted for a Super Burrito de Pollo at Don Rafa prior to their cutoff/closing time. Their burrito did not disappoint! I loved the way it was wrapped securely and grilled to perfection. Though this spot is known for their chicken, I didn't really experience anything unique about this wrapped meal. It was delicious and tasted how it should be, but I was hoping the "star" of this meal would be their chicken. I ate my burrito immediately and it was served at a decent temp. Perhaps, I'll give Don Rafa a 2nd chance and order a half (or whole chicken). The Birria Pizza looked appetizing as well. Don Rafa is located inside of the Food Barn Market and reminds me of a Latino version of a Pacific Supermarket. The restaurant appears somewhat modern, tidy and spacious, while the rest of the market area seems outdated.
