Dining Area

Came to have Jack's as I was craving the tiny tacos and yes not the healthest option but hey once in a while. Arrived and was glad the dine in area was open to chow inside. The ones in my area are only carry-out/drive thru. When I approached the counter, there was the lady who preps the food singing in Spanish and then a guy emerged from the drive thru. He acknowledged me as he was getting the beverages and informed me he would be with me shortly. While I was waiting, a nice lady was mopping the restrooms and dining area. Since I had my critters with me, I made them sure I escorted them safely to the booth. Food arrived within 10 minutes and guy apologized for the wait and thanked me. Highly recommend and please don't knock fast food joints or workers. We are all trying in these times.

a sign on a door
Matt T.

"Sorry it's closed. We are open to 5AM" Clearly that's not the case because the neon green sign in your window reads OPEN 24 HOURS, and the sandwich wrapper taped to the screen of your menu claims you're open until 5:00 a.m. It's currently 4:05 a.m. WTF is wrong with this location?

Horrible quality

See the pictures and you'll know why the one star, would be 0 if possible. We have been to a lot of Jack in the box and had some bad experiences but this is the worst of all.. NOTHING was eatable.

Not exactly a Chicken Tater Melt.

Our go to lunch spot once again delivered. Service, and…read moreflavor bomb offerings are a consistency that BT has achieved in my experience. Great place to watch the World Cup. I just learned today that BT2 just opened in Castro Valley which is my home base. I saw two reviews which were 5 star ones 16 days ago. I am excited to try their new location and meet the staff. Their location is not visible From the main streets so you have to know it's there or happen to pass through the shopping parking lot. If I would have known I would have been present opening day. Just a suggestion maybe put a sign up at your original location about BT2. I can't wait to try it.

Rating: 3/5 Stars I…read morereally wanted to love this place, but the experience was a bit of a roller coaster. The asada tacos were easily the highlight--solid 8/10 and definitely the "hit" of the meal. The carnitas were decent (around a 5 or 6), and while the salsa verde was good, the other salsas lacked a deep, authentic sabor. However, as a Mexican who knows my beans, the refried beans were a major disappointment. They tasted like they came straight from a can and had a strange oil flavor that just didn't sit right. Pro Tip: Ask for extra lime and cilantro. They tend to go heavy on the onions but light on the greens. Their Chile de Árbol is great, but you'll need at least 4 or 5 limes to really bring the flavors out! the customer service was a 10/10 :) thanks ladies

Been trying new taquerias in the trivalley. Came here specifically because they have a California…read moreburrito on the menu. Inside is very clean. They have a salsa bar with tortilla chips and something unique, Duritos. (Circle Wheat chips with an X in the middle). We ordered a California burrito, Al pastor taco, and horchata. The horchata was "home made" and definitely tasted different the branded horchata I'm used to. California burrito:. Has carne asada, fries, sour cream, guacamole, Monterey cheese, and pico. The burrito was hot and everything felt incorporated versus some taco shops just put cold ingredients together. Burrito was split between the wife and I and it was very filling. Melty cheese pull was a nice touch to know they didn't skimp on ingredients. My only criticism is that the fries are soggy. If they deep fry it to a super crispy texture would make this SO MUCH better. Al pastor taco: was good. They offered a handmade tortilla which was a little extra. The Al pastor wasn't carved off of a "spit" or doesn't appear to be since the cuts appear more clumpy. Otherwise flavor was there and solid. Service was prompt and they also bus your table after your done. Overall worth the stop, will come back since there's a few things on the menu I'd like to come back and try.

And you can't go wrong with Mexican food so I decided to just go next door to Don Chepe. I went around 2pm and it wasn't busy at all. The cashier was super nice. I ordered the enchilada plate and a horchata. I initially thought it was kind of pricey at first. But my goodness! Look at the size of the plate! Idk if you can even tell from the picture but it's HUGE. I had enough leftover for dinner that night. Everything was delicious. I can't wait to go back.

So, I ordered my usual fish taco and shrimp taco with a Corona at the counter. There is a small chips and salsa bar next to the counter. Oddly, they provide VERY small paper bags to hold a few chips. That wasn't going to work for two hungry adults so I asked for a basket. That turned out to be an awkward ordeal. The owner/ manager ( not sure who) made kind of big deal about how "special" I am to be the only customer who gets a basket. We both thought it was awkward and rude at the same time lol. They have two small rooms to sit at a table. The tv was turned up when we were half way through the meal. It was much too loud for the small space. Another weird event. We couldn't wait to leave. Outdoor seating? There are a few small tables in the front of the restaurant, but the road noise was too loud for that option. Impressions The tacos were bland and unappetizing. I was very surprised how they lacked flavor. My husband had some kind of ala carte plate. He loves Mexican food! It was a disappointing meal for both of us. Suggestions The customer is the focus so you earn return visits. I think that was lost to the staff on this particular day. It's not a big deal to offer a bowl or basket for chips. If you have customers, especially who aren't watching tv, turning the volume up for the employees to hear is not going to make a good impression.

I wouldn't expect traditional Mexican food coming here because it's definitely more of a Cal-Mex fusion! The presentation, ingredients, ways of preparing are different and I love that :) Asada Fries ($25): I enjoyed this much more than I expected, and I thought I would bring some home...I didn't. The ranch and BBQ sauce surprised me, but the flavor profile worked! Also loved the shape of the sidewinder fries, kind of like c-shaped wedges. Crispy Plantains ($14): I enjoyed these dipped in sour cream! It came with a lot, so I would for sure save some to eat with vanilla ice cream at home :) My friend got a side of black beans ($8) with it which she said was okay; I think she was thrown off by them being drowned in water lol Our server was lovely even as the evening got busier. They even split the meal onto two separate plates for us. The food was reasonable priced, around 20-25 per dish.
