We picked Jack Stack because it was the closest BBQ place to the hotel we were staying as we passed through the KC area. I had burnt ends of brisket and sausage and my wife had a pulled pork sandwich. Both meals were great as were the onion rings we shared as an appetizer. We sat at the bar and I was introduced to a really good local beer - KC Bier's Dunkel. Lucky choice - we had a good meal and a fun time with the bar staff. We'll be back one of these days. read more

This is my 100th review! And im proud to review Jack stack BBQ. VERY GOOD!!! You know, we are so blessed to have so many great barbecue restaurants in the Kansas City area. People told me Oklahoma Joe's is the best barbecue in Kansas City and I tried it and was not impressed at all. And I LOVE Smokehouse and it is very good but Jack Stack is like Smokehouse but perhaps slightly better. The service was great. I've never been here before but I stopped in grab the takeout menu and ordered a few sandwiches and some sides and the lady who took my order was very friendly. My order was 7 minutes late and to make up for it they gave me two cupcakes which were actually very delicious. The sandwich portions were very generous and the meat was delicious the bread was soft the fries were cooked to perfection I even like the barbecue sauce. The baked beans are terrific and the coleslaw is excellent. Everything from the customer service to the food was just amazing. What a great first impression. read more

Last Saturday, March 14 and all ordered from Jack's Stack. My husband and I, being seniors, ordered a slab of pork ribs - they were out and substitute was given. Well being confined we saw Jack's Stack had slab of pork ribs with two sides for $15.00. To take a ride we ordered at 12:15 pm and we're told they would be ready at 3:30 pm. All good have to drive from Harrisonville to Lee's Summit. At 2;50 as we were getting ready to leave received a call - out of ribs could the substitute something? In the future I will hold everyone up while I check myself. Tremendous food and service. Cucumber jalapeño margarita was a perfect combo of refreshing and spicy. Angela was great the whole night, and the bbq Roundup had a great combo of Turkey, pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. Too full for dessert but an excellent place to have your first KC bbq! read more

Now dined out with them last weekend October 14th 2023 and there was some mishap with their credit card compan. was told this happened with a lot of customers and is being fi. I've recently discovered a gem on the menu. The fire grilled wings. It might be my favorite thing on the menu. Speaking of the menu, they've changed it. Got there at around 3:30ish and was seated quickly. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing. I was accompanied by my mother and it was our first time coming to this specific jack stack. Usually we go to the one in martin city, but since we were in the area we decided to give this one a try. We both got garden salads to start and the ranch was very good, my mother ordered the lamb ribs (w/baked beans and potato salad) and i ordered the sampler plate (pork ribs, beef burnt ends, bbq chicken, w/fries and coleslaw). This is the best BBQ restaurant I've ever ate at. The restaurant itself was absolutely beautiful and impeccably clean. Our waiter (I forgot to get his name) was wonderful. He answered any questions we had and even brought us drinks to go when we told him we had a 7 hour drive home. The food was amazing. We will definitely be ordering from here and having it shipped to our home. Restaurants of this caliber that don't cost an arm and a leg are hard to find. What's good about jack stack is that they genuinely have good meat and also really good sides but I have never been a fan of their barbecue sauce. There's something about the sauce that makes it taste just a little bit burnt to me. But I will come here and eat the sides and get the meat without sauce and take it to go. Definitely a great environment for family and the staff was super nice. They work well together to make sure the people are taken care of. All of the Jack Stack's I have been to are truly Kansas City's best BBQ, and this location doesn't disappoint, either. I would say this location has the same vibe as the one by Union Station (which I prefer to the one by the Plaza) but on a smaller scale, and therefore not quite as crowded/loud. Our waiter was super friendly and helpful. If you've never been to Jack Stack, just know you really can't go wrong. I love pulled pork, and they have amazing BBQ sauce to go with it. Their cheesey corn and baked beans are the absolute best!!!! This time I tried their shrimp, and that was absolutely amazing as well, with a uniquely tasty sauce. Love this place! read more

Totally unorganized with carry out in the worst way. The email with better directions would be great as oppose to people pulling up calling as directed being redirected to a different location. Then waiting more and then finally being told hey pull around to the tent and we'll help you there. It's confusing for the customers and makes me just not want to order here again. I know covid has complicated a lot of things but just a simple joy like ordering dinner for my family and not driving thru a maze or at least the confirmation email stating to go to the first tent would be great. read more

We just love Jack Stack BBQ. It's a Kansas City favorite! When friends come in from out of town, this is one place that we like to share. A full slab of ribs with 3 sides will feed us for two days, when ordered as carry-out. We have tried everything from the Prime Rib (TDF), Fried Mushrooms with horseradish sauce are best eaten at the restaurant, Poor Russ Sandwich, Grilled Salmon Spinach Salad, Blackberry Salmon, even their Barbecue Trout is sinful! Any of their sides BBQ Beans, fries, potato salad, and of course cheesy corn are awesome. Make sure you save room for carrot cake! We are craft beer drinkers so their selection is small but their wine selection will usually carry us over. Their Staff are professional and friendly, willing to give you ideas if you can't decide.
