Ate Phad see yew and got sick. Years ago food was good but now I will not buy from there.

Staying in the area for business and saw several Thai/Lao placed so knew with a local flavor I had to try one. This had the best reviews - and did not disappoint. Even when I ordered the owner was very nice, and said about 15 minutes. I got there in about 10, and they we're wrapping up what looked like a catering order. I had to literally argue with the man to not take free drinks and a discount because my food wasn't ready...early. It's not bad and nothing spectacular. Definitely a hole in the wall place, went during lunch and ordered the pineapple fried rice, there are about three tables so it isn't very big. Been coming here for years! It's super convenient and fresh. It's a small mama/papa shop with assorted dishes and drinks. Place is super small so expect a wait or just take it to go like I normally do. I've tried various dishes here and their pretty good. It's definitely hard to find some good Thai food near Grand Terrace, so when this place popped up I had to give it try. Thank goodness it's delicious! Not only is the food fast, it's very affordable. Wide menu for a small place. I like all the five dishes I ordered. Eggplant, red curry, drinking noodles, fried rice, and ginger chicken. First time so I ordered a spice level 3 out of 5 thinking that would be spicy enough. I feel like it's not enough (barely has spice) so when I go back I will get 4s and 5s spice level. Seems like a 3 is mild+, I figured it would be medium or more. The food is still full of flavor and what I suspect out of those dishes. The price is around $8-10 per dish. I came here because it's under new management and I wanted to try it out. Got chicken Phad Thai for my wife and the pork larb for myself. We thought we were hoping for too much because after going to school in the SB area for a few months, we never thought we would find "good" asian food. We happen to pass by this place and thought we should at least try it out. I was a bit skeptical when I walked inside because it was a little hole in whole place that barely had space for the 5 tables they have inside. They only accept cash, so I was happy to have $7 bucks that day because I never have cash. For $5.75 + tax (=$6.21) I got a good amount of chicken curry with rice. It wasn't too spicy or watery. It had the perfect amount of curry and spice. A friend ordered the pad see yew for $6.21 too. This was delicious! For that price they give a whole lot in a take out box. You have a choice of chicken, beef, or tofu...mmm......tofu. Whenever you're in the area and want some quick and cheap thai food..this is the place. Please try this place and disregard the old reviews since it does not reflect the actual taste and quality of the restaurant and the new ownership. Staff was extremely helpful and sincere. Today was my first time trying this place with one of my friends. We ordered take out and ate at home. I must say level 5 spicy is their medium and it was spicy for me. I ordered a Pad Thai, Kai Kua and papaya salad. Pad Thai and Kai Kua are very similar so next time I will order one or the other. The papaya salad was really refreshing and tasted great! I have been going here for two decades...simply Amazing food! I enjoy the Mint Spicy beef, Thai beef salad, and even the Jackpot fried rice.Great selection of vegetarian dishes. I can never order just one dish. The staff is polite and very helpful. They even have a nice picture book of their dishes so it makes it easier to select something new and exciting. It's a small place but I'm there for the food and not the ambiance. They are closed every week day from 2:00pm till 4:00pm for siesta. I always go here when I'm in the area just for great Asian food.
