We live in Inglewood, and over time Jack's Trinity Lane location has become our go-to BBQ place. We always get the food to-go, but in my experience, you'll get more food (and ensure that your order is correct) if you order inside as opposed to going through the drive-through. Also you'll get to try/take as many varieties of sauce from the hot sauce bar as your heart fancies. The drive-through just isn't as give-me-one-of-everything friendly. We always order the pulled pork plates, and I've never been really disappointed in the meat. There's been a rare occasion or two upon which we received a fatty helping, but the meat is almost always juicy and slow-cooked to perfection. Delicious. As other reviewers have mentioned, the sides leave a little to be desired. You can't go too terribly wrong choosing potato salad and baked beans, but some of the other sides sometimes look a little sad and/or greasy and/or old in their warming trays. You have an option of Texas toast or cornbread. Anywhere else I would choose cornbread and hope for a grilled corn cake, but Jack's little bitty squares of cornbread don't appeal to me. So I always get the Texas toast. It's tastier, and I think it's a better value. read more

I believe this place has a vested interest in the sugar market. We had the turkey, brisket, and my son had the sausage sandwich. Sides included baked beans, Cole slaw, apples. The best part of the meal were the apples, they were delicious. Turkey and brisket were DRY. Baked bean were so sweet that they nearly made us sick, too much brown sugar, molasses or whatever was in them. The sweet tea tasted like tea syrup. The Cole slaw was sour like sauerkraut. The corn loaf was dry and tasteless. Give me my good ole Texas barbecue any day. Even the worst would be better than what we just ate. Tonight I asked the guy to chop my brisket fine, as I always do when I eat their bbq I asked for it to be chopped fine with fat mixed in . It's the only way I like to eat this brand . Tonight the guy resisted my request as if I had asked to cook another pig. Like how the teenagers act at fast food restaurants when you ask for KETCHUP to go with your fries.. I ordered the 3 meat combo with the St. Louis ribs, brisket, sausage and 2 sides. Cole slaw and the collards. I was hoping to have some leftovers but I ended up polishing my plate. I came in at about 2 pm and it did not disappoint at all. I will definitely recommend this place to my out of own friends to stop by. Very friendly staff as well and super polite. I went thru the drive thru and it was an easy process. Food came out quickly. I ordered a brunch of meats and some were great and some not so much. The Whole Smoked Chicken was tasty and moist. The brisket was tasty although slightly softer (less pull) than I'm used to. Sausage was also tasty. It's served sliced so if you do take-out and try reheating it, it dries out a bit. Last was the ribs. I ordered a half rack (which comes as a sandwich). These ribs must have been in the steam box or wrapped for a looong time. I tried to pick up a rib and the meat literally fell apart. The meat tasted like water & it literally fell apart to some sort of mushy meat so I had to eat it like it was pulled pork, but softer. Ugh. Ribs taste and FEEL like they have been steamed or pressure cooked and then cooked on a grill. The bones in the ribs were so soft, I could break them with my fingers. That's not how BBQ is supposed to be. There should be a strong, hard bone, meaty pork or beef attached and is pulled off with your teeth. I was so disappointed with the quality of their food, especially after reading all the reviews. But after eating their ribs, I realized maybe a lot of people have never had true BBQ.. This one won't get on the BBQ list, but will probably go on the "Room For Improvement" list. I would never take anyone there, nor purchase anything here again, nor recommend it. I love southern food and this place hits the spot. We are traveling back to Virginia from California and Nashville was a good final stop before hitting home. I knew i wanted BBQ (pork platter) and a quick yelp search pulled his place up. Coincidentally, we went to the downtown location 5 years ago and I wasn't into yelp as much, so as fate would have it, here we are. We all got pork platters with Mac and cheese and green beans or potato salad. The meat was smoked perfectly, and all the sides were delicious. It's been awhile since I've had good southern/bbq food. Our family loves this Jacks location! The staff is always so kind and the food is smack yo mama delicious!! We love it so much that we decided to order Thanksgiving Dinner from them. Xavyan, one of the managers, was so professional and polite on the phone - answering all my questions and offering options as I discussed our needs (to feed 20 people that like 2nds and leftovers) and the price was unbeatable. We picked up the food Wednesday night - Xavyan even gave me tips for reheating so as to not dry the turkey out, and warmed it up the next day. To say that it was delicious is the understatement of the year! Everyone raves about it! Jack's is a Nashville stalwart and a very solid barbecue joint that I would also classify as a meat and 3. They are all good quality and produced with consistency at both locations. When I go there for lunch, I usually get a BBQ sandwich, the vinegar slaw helps you to remove the greasy taste from your mouth so I always get that with my dish. July 4th was our very first visit. There was a line of cars out of the parking lot into the street so we knew the bbq would be worth the wait. Long lines of locals indicated great food. We both got the pork jumbo sandwiches - mine had delicious crunchy bark. The sauces offered were hot and regular- the hot isn't spicy at all - but has a little zip in the sweet. The coleslaw is strongly flavored with vinegar, not creamy- and pairs deliciously with the smoky sweet bbq. Will definitely eat here again! read more

A great place to eat especially if you aren't from here. I am a big believer in trying new places no matter what. Try local and this place doesn't disappoint. I liked the pulled pork sandwich and took a brisket to go for lunch. The service was good and I have to say the ambience didn't disappoint. You have to look past the heat especially since it's July, but otherwise a great place to try! We did the trinity location but I assume they are all the same.
