We went in late last night. Most of Fredericksburg was pretty dead but this place was busy. We were able to get some bar seats. The service was great throughout the experience. The restaurant had a cool ambiance. Pricing was fair for the high food quality. I had a bone in filet that was excellent. The cocktail list was great. read more

My husband and I visited Fredericksburg this weekend for my birthday celebration. He found this restaurant casually, and we don't regret it. The food and service were spectacular. Our server, Theresa, was sweet and made us feel special. The atmosphere overall was great! This will definitely be our go-to restaurant from now on to have dinner every time we visit Fredericksburg. read more

A new favorite of ours anytime we visit Fredericksburg. Stellar service, delicious menu, and the selections of wine ... We are never disappointed when we leave. Thank you Jacks. read more

Great atmosphere, perfect place to celebrate our Anniversary. Got the shrimp scampi (amazing!) and a steak (expected better but overall good). Sides mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts were so good!! read more

smallest printed menu i have seen in years. Had to take photo and expand. Dirty martini was not dirty. smoked old fashioned wasn't smoked. Caesar salad good. Creamed spinach was bland and tepid to cool. Potato casserole was delivered with lecture on how hot the dish was but previously melted cheese was hard and dish was cool. Tomahawk steak was cut from end of carcass and should have been used for grind. lacked prime or choice meat mostly gristle and fat. read more

Had high hopes but left disappointed. Started with awkward handoff from one waitress to another. Smoky old fashion wasn't smoked, salad had been forgotten and when reminded delivered late (they did comp the salad) sides on main course were barely warm and lacking flavor. Everything baked potato casserole was actually hash browns just topped with cheese and sour cream. 175$ tomahawk was mostly gristle with little prime meat. Didn't taste like it had been aged anywhere near their claim. May be rated highly in Fredericksburg but wouldn't survive in a competitive metropolitan market read more

Date night with my SO, our experience was nothing less than perfect! Kyle was our waiter and he catered to all of our needs and everything was timed perfectly we enjoyed every moment of our visit! read more

Wonderful ambience, very knowledgeable staff and friendly too! The food is incredible, a great place for a business dinner or a date night!

The food is amazing. If you are like me and A1 is a must with your steak, bring it. They have a house A1 like and it's nothing like it. The sides are really good too. read more

Jack's was a delightful experience. The family style option is the way to go. Kyle was a great server and can't wait to come back.

Jack's Chophouse is by far the best place for date night, a soecial event, or even just a regular week night when you dont want to cook. We've celebrated many soecial occasions and the service, food, and ambiance is incredible. We've even gotten take-out from there a couple times to bring home. The steaks are beautifully made and cooked to your liking everytime. The servers are always delightful and quick, and always have the best recommendations. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good meal. read more

Perhaps the best steakhouse in Texas Wine Country. The only thing better than the food is the customer service. Ladies like Teresa make this a 5 star place. Relaxed vibes and good people are known to be here. Blue Cheese olives in dirty martini's. read more

I tried this restaurant for the first time. I saw the menu online before I went and I knew the prices were high but if the food was really good I thought it would be worth it. Well unfortunately I was very disappointed. While the bone-in filet was good it certainly didn't justify the price. The sides and Caesar Salad were very substandard. The service and ambiance were both friendly and nice. Fredericksburg needs another good restaurant but unfortunately Jacks Chophouse doesn't fill the bill. read more

Had a date night at Jack's Chophouse and it was a great experience. The staff were attentive and courteous, the drinks were on point (fantastic Manhattans!), and the steak was delicious. This will be a repeat for us! Highly recommend! read more

Thank you Amanda!! Great food all served in a perfect atmosphere!! We will be back!! My wife and I highly recommend Jacks!!

What a guilty pleasure my husband and I enjoyed last night at this restaurant. It was a double celebration of sorts, which included selling a property and celebrating his birthday. We love the ambience, and the service and the bar may soon become our favorite haunt. I enjoyed the calamari appetizer which is by and far the best serving of calamari that I have ever experienced. The crunch and the sweet and spicy sauce made for a delicious treat. The bartenders were engaging, knowledgeable, and we enjoyed our chat with them. Once it was time for dinner, everything went smooth as silk, and we both enjoyed our steaks. Amazing flavors, and the portion of food is more than I could eat, which, of course made for a great take-home bag. I highly encourage everyone to try the Lyonnais fries. read more

We had a perfect date night here. The food and atmosphere were lovely! Our server was Amanda and she was an absolute delight. We will definitely be back read more

Dined at Jack's Chophouse in Fredericksburg last evening. Overall, the meal was outstanding. My wife said it was some of the best salmon she has tasted since living in the Texas Hill Country. My son and I ordered steak which was cooked impeccably and tasted very good. The service we received was excellent and the atmosphere was upscale and very comfortable. We live in Kerrville, and making the drive was worth it. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a fine dining experience in the area. read more

Extremely disappointed!! We made a reservation over 2 weeks in advance via an email with the proper information provided in accordance with their website. Never got a response. 1 week before the reservation I called and left a voicemail to confirm that reservation and asked once again, if they did not have my reservation to make it. No response once again. Today (3 days before the reservation) I called and got through to someone to confirm my reservation. They had no record of a reservation for me. Needless to say I was not happy and now NOT interested in visiting this establishment. read more

Food was fantastic! Nick was our server and did an outstanding job of seeing that our dinner was perfect. He waited on us without being over bearing, but being available for whatever we needed. We will return. read more

Unbelievable steak. Go ahead and order the porterhouse. Worth every penny. Great service. Amanda was wonderful.

One of the best happy hours in Fredericksburg. I love the wedge salad and calamari. Great service too. Thank you Josh!

Just had the most unique birthday experience at Jack's Chophouse in Fredericksburg. From the NY vibe, the hospitality and customer service from the staff to the most authentic NY food. Definitely a celebration to remember. Thanks Kevin , Joshua and Mike! We will be back 100 times read more

The most tasteless chicken scallopini ever! I couldn't even defend it as delicately seasoned. It was served over home fried potatoes - bland home fried potatoes (pasta?). And my wedge salad had soggy fried onion bits. I was extremely disappointed. Even my beer came to me without a head (probably an improperly washed glass). Fortunately, my wife enjoyed her Tomahawk Pork chop, Caesar Salad, Cucumber Martini, and glass of Pinot. Service was good, atmosphere nice. They did comp my Entree, but that was what they needed to do as I didn't finish the small portion. And they offered to get me something else, but I was no longer in the mood to continue dining there. read more

Try it all!! everything is so incredibly good! The lasagna is better than any other out there. Their martini's are pricey but delicious. good service, and the steak is buttery and tender. Will definitely be back!! read more

Excellent food and great service!! Cristy made drink and ap recommendations. Be sure to save room for desert!!!!!!

What a disappointment! The best experience at Jack's last night was Amanda. What a pleasant, attentive and professional server. The brownie desert was also excellent. The shrimp cocktail, asparagus, and sauteed mushrooms and onions were quite tasty. The 4 oz. filet, although tender, had no character. The 16 oz. Stockyards Ribeye was the worst steak I have ever been served. More rare than medium rare, cool, stringy, tough and chewy; served in a puddle of grease. We are local, and may or may not give it a second chance. Until we do, we will surly not take any of our guests to Jack's Chophouse. read more

Such a great experience! We went for valentines Dinner after hearing Great things about this place! We got the bone in tomahawk and mashed potatoes for the main entree (split) my husband got the wedge salad / it was very good! We got bread with oil for an appetizer. For dessert we did the brownie with ice cream- so good!! The restaurant was reminding us of a few places we ate at in NY! It was relaxed but still nice!! The service was GREAT and everyone was so friendly! We had a reservation and they sat us perfectly on time! We will def be going back!! So great to have a really good place to go like this without having to drive to San Antonio. 5 stars all day!!!!!! read more

Another up scale restaurant in Fredericksburg. Over all I give it 3 stars. We travel a lot. We travel in a 45" bus and enjoy better restaurants. Everything we ordered was wonderful--taste wise. From a wedge salad to entree to sides, everything was well prepared and served. There's a touch of classic French in the presentation. I had the bone-in 12 oz filet. My wife had lasagna. We shared the "loaded baked potato" served in a nice size oval Au Gratin dish. The reason we gave it 3 stars were due to price. My bone-in 12 oz filet was $75. It was probably 8 oz Bone. Perfectly prepared and presented and delicious. My complaint, though there was not enough of the main ingredient-- the filet. I don't think the meat weighed 4 oz. when raw. And 8 Oz'. Was bone. I don't mind paying $75 for a steak but not for this. Also, the baked potato dish was made with re-dehydrated, shredded potatoes and not baked. Tasty for sure. But the base ingredient (the potato) could have come out of a bag of a bag of frozen hash browns from a Waffle House cooler. For such a capable kitchen, they should give you the real thing. read more

Food is amazing. Steaks are perfectly prepared. Nice specials. Service is excellent and very friendly. We go once a week for dinner.

The food and the service were excellent. The music was pleasant and not intrusive or loud. There was a great vibe with both locals and tourists. A great experience. read more

Our experience was okay but watch your credit card charges here. The amount charged was well over twice as much as the actual amount. I have tried numerous times to resolve the situation with the restaurant with no luck. The restaurant environment is charming but not worth the headache we have experienced afterward. read more

While the atmosphere was nice, it was too dark to read the menu or determine what part of the steak was gristle. Besides being very "chewy" what do you do with a mouthful of gristle and fat? And, the salad had very little dressing - I did not expect dry lettuce. The menu items are way overpriced for the quality served. One in our party did not receive his meal until the rest were almost finished. A very disappointing experience. read more
