I hate to leave bad reviews, but our group's overall experience wasn't a good one. We booked a reservation during the MLK weekend for 6 people and were seated upon arrival. It was a bit confusing finding the entrance into the building. Our issues began once we started ordering. The beverages we ordered took quite a while to be delivered to us. We ordered 3 appetizers and one that we received was incorrect. By the time we received the correct 3rd appetizer (brisket queso), we had already started eating our entrees. A few of us were missing items from our entree orders, which took more time to receive our complete orders. Beyond our first round of cocktails, we weren't asked if we'd like anything further. As our night went along, our sever was less present with us. After being there for an unexpected 2 hours, we were ready to pay and leave, but sat around for at least 15-20 minutes waiting for someone to bring a check. We informed a different server how we'd like to split our check, but it was brought to us incorrectly. Once we expressed our concerns, the second server said he could no longer assist. We also had an issue with how the $10 per person reservation deposit was to be applied to the check. After much frustration, we gave up and had the check combined into one and paid the balance. Although there were several issues, I'd have expected a manager to be involved or at least comp the appetizer that was messed up. We never spoke with anyone other than 2 servers that weren't very helpful. Other tables seemed to have more of a pleasant experience, so I suppose we just had a misfortunate evening. Our server admitted that we suffered a bad experience and apologized, but that's about it.

I am so excited to see all of the restaurants opening in Fredericksburg giving visitors more options. I stopped in at Mesquite At The Warehouse because I saw it on the offline app. My food was delicious. I ordered shrimp and grits and it was some of the best I've had including in NOLA. Their food was delicious. The service was great as well and they make it easy offering reservations. The building itself is obviously a converted warehouse and offers a rustic feel with original wood floors and decor created from warehouse equipment creating a rustic environment. They even have a shop with items that convey with the warehouse feel. I recommend Mesquite At the Warehouse when visiting Fredericksburg for anyone who loves fresh gourmet food.

Really cool place, delicious food, super nice staff! Passing through on a road trip, showed up around 8:30pm on a fairly busy Saturday night without a reservation but they were able to take us with just a few minutes wait while they cleared a table. We just missed the big dinner rush and staff were still catching up, but were so apologetic about the wait, more than they needed to be. We were happy to enjoy our time choosing our dinner, people watching, and appreciating the minimally decorated but very pretty space. It was fairly cold inside, which makes sense since the building used to be a feed store so it was large and open, likely without much insulation from the winter chill, but it wasn't unbearable. Dress warmly and it's not a problem! Brandon was awesome and made sure we were well taken care of. We got the grapefruit lavender mocktail, which was pretty sweet but very enjoyable. For food we got a New York strip with side of broccolini and the red fish with fried okra, sweet corn sauce, corn, and farro. Everything was perfectly delicious! The pecan tart with dark chocolate, caramel and orange was a wonderful end to a great meal, decadent and perfect for sharing. Loved the inclusion of both fresh orange and candied orange peel! Definitely recommend this place and hope to be back next time we're in Fredericksburg or near San Antonio!

Probably one of my favourite restaurant in Fredericksburg!! This restaurant is an hour and half but the driving was worth it!! We found this restaurant from our offline app and got a discount for lunch. I ordered the BBQ platter and it was so delicious!! The ribs are really soft and fell off of the bone, sausages are yummy, and most importantly the portion is huge! The homemade mac and cheese wasn't very cheesy (which I love) but full of flavour; the potato salad tasted very good as well. I would suggest sharing it with 2 people. The fish and chip tasted good as well but we weren't expecting "chips" instead of fries. The salad tasted good but I prefer their BBQ for sure. Service is great but food took a little while to come out. The restaurant is inside a warehouse and the ambiance feels a bit rural and under decorated - however, I think the food def compensate it! Will return and highly recommend.

Sterling was our server and he was great. Very attentive. We went for lunch and it was delicious. I had the best fish & chips I've ever had. The salads were beautiful. Great lunch spot. Will come back for dinner.

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Mesquite at the Warehouse. We were absolutely blown away by the exceptional food, service, and atmosphere! I ordered the fresh Garden Salad. The salad tasted like it was harvested today, with crisp, fresh greens, juicy cherry tomatoes, and basil. It was truly a delight! My husband's smoked chicken sandwich was perfectly smoked, paired with creamy guacamole, cherry tomatoes, and arugula. The brisket queso dip is a must pick! It is served with homemade gluten friendly tortilla chips. Our server Valente, was informative, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The venue itself is a gem, with rustic touches and a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, Mesquite at the Warehouse is a must-visit destination in Fredericksburg, TX. With its outstanding food, exceptional service, and charming atmosphere, this restaurant is sure to become a favorite. They opened August 2024.

This is such a cute and friendly place! While it is not obvious where the entrance is, it's relatively easy to find. You have to drive through to the back where the parking is and the doors to the restaurant are right there once you park. We were greeted immediately upon entry. The food was so good and the gentleman who served us was very polite and quick. Highly recommend the macaroni! I also had a margarita which was delicious.

Mesquite came highly recommended by Andre at Six Twists and boy was he right about this place! Mesquite is exactly what Fredericksburg needed. Something off of Main Street and easy to get in and out with great parking. This is definitely not a gourmet restaurant, but the food is just as good. The barbecue platter for one was actually enough probably for three. All of the food, including the grits and the cornbread were spot on. Mark served a martini with jalapeño brine that was delicious. We had five of them total! Everybody was very friendly, even with a very large table that was seated behind us, they were very accommodating and extremely helpful. This is a great place unwind, have great food and great drinks at the large bar that won't break the bank. After having to fight for a table the night before and mediocre food at an expensive steakhouse, I was ready for Mesquite and will be back very soon! I can't wait to have that martini again! An extra thank you to Mark at the bar for being so sweet with answers to all our questions! He's a good guy!

Initially, the hostess told us they couldn't accommodate our party, but then they changed their mind. The interaction felt uncomfortable, as she emphasized their policies for large groups and mentioned that they normally require a minimum of $145 per person. She ultimately allowed us to bypass that requirement as long as everyone ordered an entrée. Our waitress, however, was wonderful and provided excellent service throughout the meal. I ordered the clam and mussel pot, which I found surprisingly bland, though the bread was delicious. The rest of my group seemed to enjoy their meals much more than I did. Unfortunately, there were also some cleanliness concerns. A spider descended from the ceiling onto our table during dinner, and another bug crawled across the table. There was even a bug zapper in the corner of the restaurant that seemed to be going off constantly throughout our meal. For a party of seven, our bill came to around $700. Given the overall experience, the food quality, and the atmosphere, it felt a bit underwhelming for the price.

Unfortunately, this experience felt less like a restaurant opening and more like a dress rehearsal no one stopped. First problem: location confusion. We went to what turned out to be their second spot--which, crucially, was not called Nurys on the sign. Same ownership, new space, old identity crisis. Walking in felt like entering a building that hadn't yet decided what it wanted to be when it grew up. The lingering aroma? A strange duet of fish, antiseptic, and industrial cleaning agents. Not hunger-inducing. More "urgent care with a fryer." There was no one there, which made sense--it was between brunch and lunch--but somehow the wait for food felt disproportionately long for what arrived. What arrived, sadly, was mediocrity wearing a Tex-Mex costume. They seemed to be aiming for Tex-Mex but landed somewhere closer to Tex-Flex--stretching flavors thin until they snapped. The barbacoa was fatty in a way that suggested less "slow-cooked tradition" and more "glistening regret." It didn't taste authentic, or even especially intentional. Just heavy. The guacamole--perhaps the most unforgivable offense--was bad. Guacamole is avocados, salt, lime, and love. That's it. This had none of the above. The waitstaff wasn't rude, exactly--just possessed by the clear energy of people who would prefer you to finish quickly so they could resume their real lives. Hospitality should feel like an invitation, not a countdown. Now, maybe the original Nurys is wonderful. I hope it is. But if that's the case, why open a second location only to phone it in? Expansion should mean excellence multiplied, not care divided. There are too many good places in Fredericksburg doing things right to settle for something half-hearted. This one wasn't terrible--it was worse. It was forgettable. And that's the real disappointment.

Overall, 1 of our favorite food stops on this trip! Our order consisted of 1 order of bang bang shrimp, 1 spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, a shared seared salmon dish (not pictured), 1 blackberry margarita (not pictured), & 1 blueberry mule (not pictured). For me, the best part of our order was the bang bang shrimp. If I get to go back I'll just order 2 of those & call it good! The spinach & artichoke appetizer was good, but offered a pretty standard flavor profile. The seared salmon was the best salmon dish I've tasted in a long time, paring nicely with the mashed potatoes & roasted veggies that came with it. Both cocktails were amazing, but my wife said the blackberry margarita was fantastic. The most negative thing about GH was extremely limited indoor seating availability & the lack of reservations, but now you've been warned. Vibe is euro-bistro and the staff is perfectly attentive. Prices are high, but honestly aligned to the quality of the food, at least the dishes we had were worth the prices. Food: Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with Onion/Bacon flash fried collard greens, whipped potatoes and house gravy and Jalapeno Cornbread for $32 Reuben on Marble Rye for $24 16oz Stella Artois for $10 We agreed that the fried chicken (5/5) was the best we could remember having. Whipped potatoes (5/5) were light, fluffy and perfect taste/texture. The gravy was like brown butter (5/5). The collard greens (5/5) were flash fried and if you've never had them like this, it's like eating collard green potato chips. Cornbread (3/4) was a bit too delicate and sweet for our taste. You couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. The Ruben (3/5). My wife loves a good Ruben sandwich. This one had the makings of a good one, but they use a Thousand Island sauce (too much of it) on the sandwich, and it hides the flavor of the meat. Next time we would ask for the sandwich without the TI sauce, see if that improves the rating. The sandwich came with house made potato chips (5/5), a small house salad with vinaigrette (5/5) and a large, pickled cucumber. I know, that's a pickle, but these are cucumbers that have gone maybe a third of the way through the process, so the cucumber taste is really prevalent. Lastly, we had the Creme Brulé (3/5) for dessert. It was nice, but the custard was coffee and caramel flavored, and we prefer the standard custard look and flavor. The caramel should come from the top layer, not the custard. The top layer was a bit too thick as well. We liked it, just didn't love it. Overall, quality food, service and vibe with prices that are aligned to more special occasions than everyday eating out. We'll be back to try the Monday Crawfish Etoufee and the Tuesday Duck Confit daily specials...look too good to pass up.

The fried potatoes that came with the au gratin schnitzel were left largely untouched on my companion's plate. The restaurant is located inside an old house along Main Street. The front room is 1/2 lounge area, 1/2 dining room, plus the bar area. There are two side dining rooms, the "green" room and the "red" room. Even the bathroom is cool! Great vibe and good music throughout the evening. Luckily, we got there early, and we're able to walk in without a reservation and sit at the bar. The restaurant was short-staffed, "staff on vacations" we were told, quite a few customers had difficulty enduring the service. They needed several other people there! Our bartender/waiter was Harper, and he did a fantastic job that evening, even though the place got really busy. The craft cocktail selection is extensive and very imaginative, many fun and exciting concoctions. We decided to start with The Navigator and a Banana Old Fashioned, both of which were delicious. The Navigator is a gin cocktail, with citrus and honey, a dash of grapefruit bitters and egg whites. Quite a tasty treat! The Banana Old Fashioned is a rum mixture, with some allspice, banana liqueur and walnut bitters. Delicious! We were also served a small amuse bouche of plantain soup that was a great first taste of things to come. After discussing the food menu with Harper, our food choices began with the duck spring rolls and the truffled burrata. The duck was perfectly prepared, and the spring rolls fried hot, not greasy at all. A side sweet and sour sauce on the side. The burrata ball was served well chilled, truffle pearls on top, drizzled with a nice balsamic reduction and served with thin garlic toast. Both dishes rate: amazing! Round two of cocktails included a Floating Petals, a vodka drink with very herbaceous notes, and the Volcano Ashes, a tequila/coconut/orange blend with black lava sea salt sprinkled on top. Both drinks were so good! We split the crispy chicken entree, a fried chicken breast atop risotto, covered with prosciutto and smoked gouda cheese. Delicious, but a bit salty for our taste. Almost every ingredient had a salt component, and the cumulative effect was the saltiness. For dessert we chose the Tierrita, a parfait glass filled with chocolate mousse and cookie crumbles... sweet and tasty, topped with a huge strawberry! A glass of local Texas Sangiovese accompanied the dessert and was a good pairing! So many other good things on the menu, we'd definitely go back to try more, cocktails and food! Recommend The Traveler Collections!

While in town for our anniversary, the wife and I decided to grab breakfast. Looking for a quaint,…read morenon chain restaurant, I I resorted to ChatGPT. ChatGPT raved about Sunset Grill, so we hopped in the car and zoomed down. Upon arriving, we walked into the cramped restaurant, and we were greeted by a nice hostess. She put our name on a list, and we had a brief 5-10 minute wait before we were seated. We were handed menus and left to peruse the menu. After a brief wait, we were greeted by our waiter and he took our drinks. In good time the waiter was back with drinks and he took our order. I ordered a bacon and cheese omelette. It came with potatoes and toast. The wife ordered the plate with eggs over easy, crispy bacon, and potatoes. The wife and I sat and had a nice visit. We should not have drank our drinks so fast, as they stayed empty the entire time we visited. Our waiter not once made eye contact so we could get a refill either. After an average wait time, our food came. Our waiter noticed the drinks and then refilled them. My omelette was undercooked and watery, the cheese was not melted, and the bacon was chewy. Furthermore, the toast was also very dry. I would have gotten butter to put on them, but the waiter never came back to check on us. The wife's eggs were cooked over hard, the bacon was rubbery, and very underwhelming. Our drinks went empty and we never got refills, again. We paid the bill and went shopping. I was glad to get out of there. I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews, but I think they missed the mark here. ChatGPT did me dirty on this one. I don't know if they just were having a bad day, or what the deal was, but this was a one and done for me. I cannot say I recommend this one. I was very disappointed.

They encourage more Formal which is refreshing in a town where most restaurants invite casual. We were on time for our reservation, but waited a few minutes in their small waiting area. The hostess/manager had a bit of a school principal attitude, but overall was pleasant. We were seated in a small room amongst several other tables, but still felt intimate. The lighting is a bit on the dark side, but the candles bring out a great atmosphere. A violinist and cello created a romantic feeling (Enchanted Rock Orchestra Strolling Duo). We started with cocktails, which were crafted beautifully. The menu has old classics as well as innovative ones. For the appetizers, we had the focaccia bread which was delicious as well as the stuffed mushrooms which were delicately made and quite tasty. The wine list is short but encompasses Old world and New World wines. My wife had a Bordeaux while I had a Tuscany blend. Both delicious. For our entrées, we shared the filet mignon with peppercorn sauce with candied brussels sprouts and hand whipped mashed potatoes as sides. The food was surprisingly delicious, well presented and portioned. We truly enjoyed our entrées. For dessert we had the bananas foster cheesecake. Unique, not too sweet, delicious ending. If you come to Fredericksburg, definitely try this restaurant. You will enjoy the experience, the ambience and most definitely the food.
