Jacks in Newark is one of our favorite places for breakfast not just because of the Farmers Market Burrito but because of the service level Regina gives us every time we enjoy a meal there. She's amazing with each and every customer. They all want to sit in her area because of the care she gives them. The food is pretty good too. It's our go to place when we're in the neighborhood since we don't live that close. So if you're ever in Newark and not sure where to go Jacks is a good choice. Well Jacks missed the mark today. Breakfast was good, service was good. My complaint is that they refused to honor the 20% off breakfast coupon that says valid Monday through Friday because it's a holiday today. Nowhere does that state excluded on holidays. I hope in the future they clarify when they will and will not honor their coupon. It's a trivial issue, but irritated me and there are plenty of other breakfast restaurants in Fremont that we will go to besides Jacks. read more

After a night out at the movies at New Park Mall, I decided to stop by this location. We were greeted warmly and seated at a cozy booth right away. Since it was close to closing time, the place was fairly quiet, which made for a relaxing experience. The menu offered plenty of options, and I opted for the Spaghetti Carbonara with added chicken. The dish was absolutely delicious and arrived quickly. The chicken was perfectly moist, adding a nice touch to the pasta. My friend ordered the catfish with rice and vegetables, and it looked incredible--she loved every bite. We also ordered a few cocktails, which came out promptly with a great pour! Our server was attentive and checked on us frequently, ensuring we had everything we needed. Toward the end of the meal, I couldn't resist trying the Crème Brûlée from the dessert menu, and it did not disappoint. What I got : Pomegranate in a pear tree : 5/5 Calamari : 4/5 Rigatoni Pasta 5/5 What I bummed off my co-worker : Coconut Shrimp : 4/5 I came here for a company dinner and we were a big party so I want to thank the excellent service we got because it was fast and they were super nice! Our group sat outside, nice weather but they also have fans and heaters if you get hot or cold respectively. The drink I got was tasty! Not the biggest drinker but wanted to see what it was about. With someone for a low tolerance for alcohol this drink gets the job done in a couple of sips! I did think it was funny that they garnished it with a big piece of basil because I thought they just put a piece of lettuce in it! Calamari was good but I felt like it need more flavor to it. I personally really like tapex's calamari seasoning so take that with the grain of salt. Coconut shrimp was surprisingly good, in my case I haven't had that many good coconut shrimps but this one had the right amount of coconut to shrimp ratio. My rigatoni pasta was delicious, the sauce to pasta ration was great! For the most part, I had bacon in every bite. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture but side note, I think with the serving sizes you definitely have to take some of these things to go. Dessert, I personally didn't have any but my co worker got the pumpkin bread pudding and I snapped a photo of it. He said it was good and tbh it looked so good that I was contemplating getting one myself but I was so full! Love coming to Jack's for a nice brunch. I also get take out from here and it's always super good. I recommend their Mac and cheeses; I loved trying each one every time I would come. My favorite would have to be the chili mac for the robust flavor. I tried the Alfredo pasta once and I would skip it, not much going on in the sauce; it was bland. I love the bread they give you on the side. It's a nice big restaurant so you won't feel claustrophobic when you're seated. It's a good place to take your family out to a nice meal. read more

This place was GREAT. From entry to exit. The host was got me seated promptly. My waitress Maria was the BEST. The food was WONDERFULLY DELICIOUS. I loved the meatloaf. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. My appetizer came out 1st. Then my soup, then afterwards my entrée. I was able to enjoy everything hot. Not having to let one get cold while enjoying the other. I went here quite some time ago for brunch and forgot to give them their deserving 5-star rating. They have a really good breakfast menu and also offer mimosas; however, I opted for an orzo dish with salmon--though I believe it is no longer on their menu. It was my first time having orzo, and I was very intrigued by its rice-like appearance, hence why I ordered it. The texture of the pasta was quite foreign to me, so I had to take a few bites before appreciating the uniqueness of orzo. Overall, the dish was very good, though I thought it could have more salmon in it. Our server was also fantastic--he was very friendly, attentive, and had a well-rounded personality. Came here on a Friday evening at 6:45 & was placed immediately thanks to making a reservation through yelp! There are soooo many people waiting outside / this place gets packed, so I definitely recommend making a reservation so you aren't waiting outside in the heat! The service was decently quick even with how packed the place was & our server was extremely attentive. I also liked that they ask if you'd like everything together or to have your appetizers first! The portions are pretty big for the price! I was surprised at how much food we had, if I had known, I think we could have ordered less lol! But we do like to family style everything, so I'm glad we got a sample of everything. Food is pretty heavy though!! We were at the Newpark Mall and needed dinner so came upon Jack's, an elegant sports bar, with helpful service. It was open thankfully still at 8pm (many places at the mall were closed) on a Monday night! I'll be honest, I was skeptical of them having vegetarian options but was pleasantly surprised! For vegetarian dinners, they have 2 burgers, 2 mac & cheeses, veggie Mediterranean plate, polenta, angel hair pomodoro. They said they could also make some of the pasta options vegetarian. I went with the Polenta, which also happens to be gluten free. Its crispy corn and parmesan cheese polenta, on a bed of sautéed spinach, seasonal vegetables, with a tomato-basil sauce. Very delicious!! Reminded me of a gluten free lasagna or eggplant parm! I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor and crispness. It did not feel greasy or too saucy. Nice work Jack's! read more

We came here at 11:30 for sunday brunch/lunch and this place was packed. That's how you know the food is good! Luckily, we didn't have to wait and were seated upon arrival. I got the tuna melt and tortilla soup (soup of the day), and my friends got the Italian pasta, rigatoni di pollo, and the hangover. Tuna melt: THE TUNA MELT WAS SO GOOD. Toasted and crispy sourdough bread, cheese, and a delicious tuna salad. It comes with pickles and I opted for garlic fries and their chipotle mayo. Solid tuna sandwich and the garlic fries were so flavorful and crispy. The tortilla soup tasted like regular tortilla soup so if that's your thing, get it. The Italian pasta was creamy and the pasta texture was nice. It was very delicious, I stole a piece from my friend. It has rigatoni, italian sausage, cherry tomato, and asiago cheese. The hangover is part of the breakfast menu and it has chilli, cheese, and hashbrowns. Imagine loaded nachos but with hashbrowns. It was solid! Rigatoni de pollo: this is rigatoni pasta with chicken, and a creamy tomato sauce. I liked it but I think the Italian pasta was better because it had more of a garlicy flavor. I've lived in the area but haven't been to Jack's before. Had a gathering with friends and they suggested it. We requested a different area where my friend was originally seated because the chairs didn't work for me. We were quickly seated in a nice, intimate corner. Regina was our server, and she was perfect! Warm, friendly, attentive, and allowed us extra time to order and talk as we were catching up. I told her I had browsed the Yelp reviews before coming and recognized her name being mentioned several times. She gave us some funny stories! You could tell she enjoys her job and is very knowledgeable about the menu items! I ordered the spinach and artichoke Benedict. I'm a big Benedict fan, but I mostly order the ones with meat or crab. But I thought I had better be good and get my veggies in! Lemme tell you, I loved it so much. The hollandaise sauce, that I forgot to ask to be served on the side, was just perfect. Usually, it's too much sauce for me at other places, but theirs was just the right amount and amazing seasoning! I did end up getting a side of bacon though! The eggs were excellent as well! I knew I had to get the side of hashbrowns because most raved about their crunchy but rich potatoes and wow, the best hashbrowns ever! I could not finish my meal (big portion) and I really debated taking them home but there were only a couple of bites left. My friends got the frittata and upgraded to a side of Swedish pancakes, and the other got the fish and chips! I didn't get to try either but they were so beautifully presented. And man, those fish had such a nice crunch to them! They raved about theirs too! My only negative comment was the Paloma mimosa (not sure if this is the right name), the one with the grapefruit. Sat in the bar for a quick, mid-week dinner. Service was slow and the meal came out incorrect- twice. The first time, it came out wrong and I sent it back. (In the meantime, my partner's food was getting cold as they were waiting to eat with me.) The second time, after waiting about ten minutes, the meal came out wrong again. The bartender didn't offer to correct it even though they observed and commented that it was incorrect again as they delivered it to my table. When the check came, they gave me a discount to eat a meal that was prepared incorrectly. I would have preferred to pay full price for the meal I ordered, but I wasn't given that option. Love coming to Jack's! One of my favorite meals is served here, the chicken skewers with pita, hummus, tzatziki, and tabuli. It's technically a dinner only meal but if you ask nicely, they can check to see if it's been prepped already for the day. Our most recent server Ashley was awesome! Excellent food coupled with great service made this a memorable dining experience for my niece's birthday. I had never heard of this local chain, but on my niece's suggestion we tried this location for her birthday dinner. The place was pretty crowded, but its large and the layout made it easy for my mom to get around on her larger walker. We had good timing, because we arrived at a time we could still try many of their appetizers for the happy hour prices. They were all good, but the chicken wings were particularly tasty. For dinner I had the lamb burger, it did not disappoint. My mom enjoyed her meatloaf and pretty much all the dishes we order were great. I will say the food here is standard American cuisine. MAC, our server, was fantastic. The food was incredible. We ate mostly appetizers from the Happy Hour menu. My mother's birthday was made even more special by Jack's team of servers singing "Happy Birthday" loud and proud. The look on my mom's face was adorable and super-memorable. The drinks were delicious and ever-flowing. The kitchen behind us was busy and filled with non-stop action. The lighting and the mood were perfect. My favorite part of the evening was the food. Met a couple of girlfriends at Jack's in Fremont a week ago for dinner. Place was of course very packed and busy as it was Friday evening. Luckily had made reservations so we were seated without a wait once we got there. Firstly shout out to the great service from our waiter who checked on us frequently and had a great attitude/ demeanor despite being very busy. We orders drinks which was on point and even though am a lightweight drinker and only had one drink, my friends both had a couple of cocktails and enjoyed them to take the edge off of long work week. Food was excellent especially the boneless asian chicken wings and mediterranean sampler tray as well as Zucchini cakes . I came with my friends for happy hour around 5pm. It was not too busy yet and we were seated immediately. The servers were friendly and quick to bring us our food/drinks. We ordered nachos with chili on the side as one of my friend is vegetarian, cheese quesadillas and fried calamari. I ordered the lemon drop which was delicious. The food portion was good but I wished my cheese on the nachos was not so hard. There were some pieces that look like it's been sitting there for a while and hard to bite into. This place is awesome ! I've been coming here for years. The service is impeccable. Every time I come they're super attentive and just cool people. I always tip well because I appreciate good service. My favorite menu item is the lamb burger. I honestly rarely see that on menus. It's so gooood. I sometimes get breakfast stuff too and that's great but I'd give thr lamb burger my top accolades. They always have amazing old school music playing too. It's always clean and the decor inside is hella nice!! There really aren't that many restaurants in the tri city area that can compete with jacks for what they do. Highly recommended ! read more
