Cheap and delicious food. Sometimes that's all I need. The pancakes were fluffy and perfect. My friend really liked the biscuit shaped like a muffin. But when we were done we saw another patron's order which the biscuit/muffin was sliced and toasted and looked REALLY good. That's after we finished our meal and were not hungry at all. Jack's is located in the Aina Haina Shopping Center, a strip mall off of Kalanianole where you can also find the Mickey D's I used to go to as a kid for birthday parties....oh the memories.... Anyway, they serve traditional breakfasts that you can order w/ yummy fried rice and portuguese sausage. So good!! I have to say i was not all that impressed with Jack's Restaurant, while their food is good its nothing to drive out of your way to try. The corn beef hash is good but I know it could be a lot better. I like their Biscuits but they where missing that special something that would make them great. The gem here though is the biscuits, which are light, yet hearty. Okay, it might not even be that the biscuits are the star... Why 3 stars? I recently took out their Lamb Curry. Tasty and pretty tender for $8.50. Give it a 3.5 due a portion size just short of decent. Took out breakfast yesterday. 2 Eggs, Corned beef hash which comes w 1 scoop of rice (get the hash browns, might be a bigger serving) and a "bisquit" thats big, dry and bland. Get the toast (harder to ruin w interpretive twists). I also got a short stack for a grand total of $11+. The breakfast rated 1.5. Hash was delicious but the serving was very small. It was the shortstack however that dragged everything down. On one end of the pancake spectrum are the dry/fall apart when you look at them cakes At the other end are the rubbery discs that require a sharp knife to cut them. Jacks pushed rubbery to a new low for me. These cakes would definitely withstand a 50' frisbee toss and survive for the return toss. The rest of their menu sounds good though so I would go back to try other specials. read more

This place is just simple and good. The people who work here are hard workers, the food comes out fast and hot and they are just nice folks. Not a fancy place, but for $8 or $9 bucks, maybe less, you can get a 2 scrambled eggs, hash brown, corned beef hash and a bisquit which they will grill for you if you request it - do this it's even more delicious with that crispy outside. Mom and Pop type of place. Always the same people working and they are really nice!! Small restaurant but we've always seated immediately except one Saturday morning. Even though they were super busy service was good and fast. Food isn't amazing but it isn't bad. We've had omlettes and pancakes and breakfast items. All of which are good, taste like homemade style from your grandmas house or something. I had the chicken salad club once. Same thing, just like grandma made it. Simple, small/average sized but good. Whenever i come here, i always get the special omelette, which isn't THAT special or anything--it's got portugese sausage, green onions, mushrooms.....but it's got this great white cheese, and it makes it taste different than most omelettes. plus, i like their biscuits, which are perfection with the honey butter. i think i could put that honey butter on anything and pretty much be happy. A little crowded and noisy, but the service is fast and friendly. I love the menu they offer for breakfast, just what I'd expect from a diner like this. I had the standard eggs over easy with bacon and fried rice. Didn't really care too much for the fried rice, but the biscuit that they brought out made up for it. There are a bunch of other items offered, but I'll try them next time I eat here. After we ordered our breakfast, I was surprised how fast the orders came out. Given that it was really busy at the time, I was impressed. Parking is no problem here since there is a large lot. Please give them a try if you're in the area.
