I've been to Jack's many times (usually with husband) and almost always enjoy the food. The salads are a favorite and are fresh... no brown lettuce or squishy tomatoes. Their sandwiches are good as well. Kids love the mac n cheese and mash potatoes. Because it's a popular place it can get very busy... especially on Saturdays. When it's busy it can take a while to get your food. The only downside is that it is VERY loud when you go to order. Half the time I can't hear what they are saying and on occasion they have not heard me well enough and got the order slightly wrong. AND it is slightly pricey. I love Jack's! It's my favorite "go to" place. I've been reading some of the reviews and am puzzled. Everyone is nice there. Service is great. Never had a problem. If there's a long line, it moves quickly. I love their "build your own" salad...a super deal at $8.50.... the toppings are phenomenal.. marinated mushrooms, grilled red pepper, well seasoned tofu, edamame... Sometimes I'll splurge on a side... grilled veggies or mashed potatoes... plentiful serving size and really delicious. This restaurant is a dream come true for me, my family, and friends. read more

Urban fries were amazing. I cant think of a better order of fries i have ever had. My wife and i split the urban fries and a buffalo chicken sandwich. We will definitely be returning. We like to eat before going to costco and this has become a new staple in our dining out. Cafeteria style ordering but they do bring food to the table. My favorite lunch spot ever!!!! I've never had anything bad here! AND if you come during the lunch rush you know how ridiculous that line can be at times....But I have to say that it moves pretty quickly... I love the urban fries. And the spicy buffalo salad is astoundingly yummy. I also like that they pretty much have had the same staff for the past two years I've been going there. Went here a while back with a friend, we got some sandwiches after waiting forever in line. Horrible service. Kids work here apparently, finally got our sandwiches after the extremely slow service, and the food way really disgusting and looked old, not fresh at all. When I first moved out to Sacramento, so many people told me that I have to try Jacks Urban Eats, and I must get the Urban Fries. I was never really a salad or sandwich type or person. I usually go with big entrees and sides. So my first time, I went with an order to tri tip, sides of mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. My gf created her own salad. The tri tip was really juicy and had a good flavor. I thought it was a little pricey just for a little plate of meat. But I really enjoyed the sides. I am a big fan of slightly chunky mashed potatoes with some skin so this was already perfect for me. The Mac and cheese was so simple it was so good. It's hard to explain what really makes it so good but it just was. It's not an overly fancy one with like 4 cheeses, just simple and good. And the urban fries.....comforting and filling. The blue cheese sauce with the chilies make it creamy and spicy. It's a tasty mix. And definitely someone one would want to finish in store instead of taking home cause it would get super soggy and then it's not appetizing anymore. My second trip I went with a classic jacks sandwich with chicken and added bacon, pretty much making it a chicken club sandwich. I was absolutely satisfied with it. A bit overpriced for my liking and what it is. You won't get a sandwich or salad or anything else for less than $8 and nothing even comes with sides -you have to order them ala cart. You can add fries for an extra $2 but don't bother asking for a small cup of side of soup for less than $4 extra (rip). As for the food it was good (the urban fries were good and so was the pulled pork-albeit quite greasy), just not anything to write home about. Perfect lunch spot with lots of yummy lunch options! They have salads, sandwiches, lunch plates, and lots of sides. I went in on a Sunday around 2pm and this place was packed, in fact my friend had to go and claim our table while I ordered. I had the Chinese Chicken Salad and a side of fries. Both were great! I ordered the turkey meal and my husband ordered the tri-tip meal. Our sides were scooped on the plates before the meats were ready so the sides sat there. When the plates came out, it was all cold. They should have a microwave so we can warm up our own food because it obviously isn't going to be served hot. This is the second time this has happened. We will not be back. Long wait busy. One of the people at our table got raw chicken. Eww. They took it back and gave them a sandwich that was cooked but that person was not in the mood after getting a bite of the first one, ended up getting the money back. I wasn't in the mood to eat mine I had chicken also so after seeing the raw one felt sick guess they where to busy to cook some food all the way. I had always eat at jacks. I love their salads and sandwiches... Urban Fries? It's awesome!!!! However, Folsom Jacks does not have good service. When I go here they always had issues refilling ur drinks to the point u just leave. They saw you...will say hold on a sec but they will make u wait forever!!!! I went here with my Dad about a week ago. The food was very good! I had a Cheesesteak sandwich, my Dad got Jack's Classic with turkey, and we split an order of garlic fries. The food was delicious and very tasty. Up front, you can see them roasting the turkey and it smelled amazing. The atmosphere was clean, bright, and relaxing. Long time customer always liked it. However now noticing smaller portion sizes on salads and marginal customer service. Its always busy so I guess they don't care. I asked about the portion size and was told people were not eating all their salads so they made the portion size smaller. I notice they did not lower their price. What's going on with this location? My steak salad was good but not roll my eyes up good like the Natomas location. Plus everyone that was working there looked so depressed (except the cashier) and it wasn't even a busy night because it was raining outside. Our garlic fries were fresh and hot but not very garlicy at all ... I couldn't really taste it. Then again I was so hungry that I ended up finishing everything pretty quickly. One nice thing about this location is that they have a ton of seats. Jack's is so consistent, I love it. I've been here so many times and 95% of the time I end up with the steak salad. Their tri tip is soo good. They're super nice with substitutions (unlike other places) and so I always substitute in cucumber for the blue cheese. Their balsamic vinaigrette dressing I could probably just drink straight up. That may have been a mini-exaggeration, but now you get how much I like it. My best friend likes their spicy buffalo salad, with apple slices. I've had that, too, but I prefer my steak! The new western BBQ steak salad is also delicious, as is their BBQ tri-tip sandwich, which houses an onion ring. Guess I didn't read the description, so the onion ring in the sandwich was a really nice surprise. Top it off with the mouth-watering urban fries, and I'm set! Not freezing inside when it's hot outside thank heavens! Outside can be nice if the delta breeze is blowing. This is a family feeding frenzy - stay patient and kind and you will be pleased! Wow, I wish this place was down in south county. I got to enjoy Jack's when I came to visit my SIL and her family. I got a chicken Caesar salad- it was good but a bit heavy on the dressing. I also got the garlic fries but found them a little lacking in flavor. I just added some salt and it fixed them up real quick. I loved the urban fries and wish I got those instead. It's busy but they are quick to get through the line. I will definitely stop by the next time I'm in town! read more

I am not sure why Jack's is getting 3 and 4 star reviews from people. I guess some people can be harsh. Jack's has amazing quality food at a great price. Everything is fresh. They grill all the meat right there in front of you. Best of all, homemade sides! My son is obsessed with their mac and cheese. Their sandwiches and salads are all top quality. Food is always very good. Restaurant is clean. Only complaint is that the girls working and making food up front don't put their hair up which isn't just unprofessional, but is extremely unsanitary and a violation of local health code. Management needs to be more diligent with its employees to make sure hair is up at all times if preparing food. read more

Always check your order at this location and get a receipt b/c they tend to leave items out quite often and have to be reminded. While the food it almost always good, it is hard to justify the cost when it is just a fast casual restaurant. Two people going to dinner or lunch spend $25 without drinks! If you do get drinks you have to walk up to the always busy counter and bug an employee to fill up your cup in between ringing up several other patrons. Can they not afford to let customers to have the liberty to fill up their own soda? It is definitely a big deterrent. If you want to go to a fast casual restaurant where you can pay less and fill up your own soda, go to one of the Chipotles in either direction of Jacks. read more

Love, love, love Jack's! Their food is so delicious and satisfying, and their menu has a wide variety of options to choose from: sandwiches, salads, & funs sides like grilled veggies, Urban Fries (the best) or mac & cheese. The restaurant environment is very positive, always clean and maintained nicely. The service is great, and the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is their to-go service. It takes forever. If you're hoping to be in and out of there with a sandwich and fries, it'll take a little longer.
