This company isn't bad but the wife/office manager is terrible. The wife is rude and did not help whatsoever. She called me out of my name and was very racist. She said "black people always have issues with their homes so this is nothing new". I was confused because I asked a simple question about when I was allowed back into my home. She was very condescending for absolutely no reason. The technician that came was great and really fast. The only reason I am even giving a review is because of the wife/office manager. This review is overdue, but well-deserved! We live in Northeast LA and have had hot summers the last 2-3 years. And with hot summers come lots of ants, especially in the area we live in. 3 years ago, it was unbearable how many ants came out of crevices everywhere in our house. We had an 'eco-friendly' ant company set down some traps and spray the perimeter of our home, but the ants came back soon after and the company wasn't able to take care of them long-term. So we finally found Jacob after a bunch of DIY and professional attempts and they were able to take care of it immediately; we even bravely left out a cut apple slice overnight to test it and no ants swarming at all! Their spray actually lasts us a whole summer too. His team has always been very professional and prompt when scheduling with them. They typically quote us a 2-hour window, but they end up always showing up within the first half hour of that window. Just note you'll have to evacuate for 3-4 hours while the solution sets and you need to take any pets as well. They are very thorough when it comes to spraying - we have a large perimeter that spans 3 floors, a backyard patio, and a 3-car garage. They proactively spray everything (including inside the garage) for a flat-rate that is competitive with what I've heard on the market and most times, those quotes don't include full perimeter and/or garage. Jacob also provides a warranty (I believe it's 30 days) where if you see any ants return, they're happy to come back and re-spray the affected areas. They're always super pleasant when they show up and respectful of our space (love the people who bring their own shoe covers when they come inside my house). I had a rodent issue for while now and my boyfriend couldn't figure out how they were getting in and where they were coming from. We hired a few companies but we had same issues. After numerous treatments they ended up giving us a refund and told us it's impossible to treat our apartment. We finally found a local pest control company through our neighbor. They told me that they did a great job so we decided to try them out. I was shocked how knowledgeable they were! They even found out where they were coming from. Jacob (and Andrew?) came out to assess the problem at my retail space. Since then, this team has been SPECTACULAR. They came in, checked thoroughly, and immediately explained what is going on with my store, what they can do to fix it, and how much it will cost me. While he is scheduled to come get rid of rodent mites and roaches for my space this Saturday, I'm leaving this review even before he comes to do the job because I know the fumigation part of it will be A+ anyway. It's what he does for a living. I trust the man. For now, I want to talk about the amazing ends that Jacob has gone to accommodate my (unreasonably crazy) needs. I ran into quite a series of problems with keeping my appointment with Jacob, because of a tremendously delayed plumbing inspection. Throughout this time, I was especially agitated, but Jacob was patient, understanding, and flexible. Jacob is responsive, both phone calls and texts, and is super courteous. He made me feel comfortable, NOT ONCE was he frustrated with me, while everything that I had asked of him up to this point wasn't all the nicest. What he has shown me in the past 3 weeks is LITERALLY the best customer service this planet has seen. This should earn Jacob like 30 stars, but I can only give 5. I know I'll be updating this review with even more praise for Jacob, once the extermination is done. I actually can't wait to have him come work on getting those bugs out this Saturday. We had a bizarre/gross situation in that we and our neighbors suddenly had an influx of cockroaches onto the sidewalk and into our driveways midday. Yes, we live in the city, but seeing cockroaches up and down the sidewalk during the day is not a normal sight around here. So, as you can imagine, this was fairly disturbing. It was around 4pm and I started calling every pest control company I could find that serviced my area. No one was available. Around 530, at the end of my wits, I reached someone who referred me to this company, to whom I made my final call... and Peter picked up and decided to help me. David showed up after his shift had ended and sprayed everywhere in sight. I felt that they both went out of their way to help me figure out how this had happened and why and how to fix it. (They explained that when there's sewer work--which there had been--roaches can get forced out through other manholes onto the street. Last Friday, I got a call from a tenant saying she had a roach problem. I contacted Jacob Termite & Pest Control because of the amazing reviews on Yelp. I started contacting other tenants to see if any of them had a problem. My first contact with this company was Flor. I asked for the price for dealing with the roach for one unit, then two, then three, and eventually from talking with Flor, she gave me financial options that would help me resolve this situation. Flor is amazing! She was very patient with me and answered all my questions. I scheduled an appointment for Tuesday for Jacob to come out and help me. I met Jacob at the premises. Jacob is an answer to prayer. He can speak to my tenants in Korean which is a huge help. He is easy to talk with, very knowledgeable, told me his game plan, and patient with all my tenants. Jacob is professional and does great work. Invoice and payment can be done online. I am looking to create a team of honest people with integrity. Doing the right thing is not always easy, but creates wonderful memories and lessons for future generations. I weirdly had a swarm of bees in the patio of one of my properties yesterday. Thinking that I needed someone to expertly handle this situation, I was referred to them. I was facing the worst ant infestation I've seen in 33 years of living in my home. They converged upon the main house and the guesthouse. These ants were different! They were unyielding to any household remedy that have successfully used in the past. These were alien, mutant ninja ants that would bite me and my dog. I witnessed two of them swim through undiluted bleach that I was using to clean the floor. I so glad that I found Jacob Termite. Flor was professional and patient (I had lots of questions about the process). She was able to get me on the schedule pretty quickly and emailed me a comprehensive instruction sheet. I got referred to this place by the owner and good friend of mine.. His company is in the valley (Water damage zone and restoration Inc.). I tried to schedule an appointment and have somebody send to one of our properties to inspect it and give us an estimate. This lady (Flor), was rude and uneducated. She stated that she was the office manager. She is probably a receptionist. I told her that this location is a residence. She asked me what is what we do, and I said we are a treatment facility. I gave her the phone number that she needed to call to ask the person that is in charge of this house and tell her the issues. I sent her a message hours later. She never contacted the person, and she said that they can't do the job because of what we do. She didn't said that when I spoke with her initially. She used excuses about not doing comercial properties in Covid times. WE (the company) are a treatment facility, NOT the location. This is one of the houses of the owner. I asked her that I wanted to speak with the owner or supervisor, and she didn't provide me with any name or a way to get in contact with him/her. She gave me an email that is probably hers. I will let my friend from the Water Damage co to NOT refer any clients here anymore. Very unprofessional!!!! Look Flor ... you were the RUDE and unprofessional here ... PLUS I asked you to speak with you BOSS... I am still waiting for that ... I'm going to send a message to the Small Business Bureau. Called Jacob with a summer flea problem. After we ended the phone call and I texted him my address, he was here within 20 minutes. Jacob was amazing with my dog and he's super pet friendly. I had applied some over the counter flea solution but wanted to make sure they were gone for good, so I called in the profesional. He then inspected my place, and told me the flea solution I had used was the best kind and they were already dying. He said there was nothing anyone can do for me, and if they tried, they'll be trying to rip you off. Around 2 weeks later all the fleas were dead and my husky was happier than ever. I definitely recommend as they weren't there to just take your money and really wanted to make sure they could help. I had another pest control company fail to show up twice and called them up. Guys- if you have a big problem JACOB IS THE END ALL SOLUTION!! For years I messed around with Terminix because they appear to be the easy solution with the name. Nope! The problem did not get better at all. I live on the ground floor, and my dog is in and out a lot, so the back door is often open. I found myself with a cockroach problem... after Terminix asked me to clear my entire kitchen (it literally took days!) they came in and did the treatment and days later I saw no real difference. I was let down to say the least- so I went on Amazon and bought boric acid and diatomaceous earth and attempted to fix it on my own. It helped, but it's a mess! And gets everywhere, and was only an improvement.... enter Jacob... I finally said there has to be something else! So I searched Yelp and came across his company. The reviews were great, and when I reached out I really liked his response and energy. He came within a few days, and literally wiped the population out!!! I didn't have to move anything, didn't have to leave for a few hours, there was nothing my dog could ingest, and it was fast! He showed me where he was treating and what the method was. He explained everything and gave me some helpful tips. He was on time, confirmed when he was on his way, took Venmo as payment, and is just an all around nice person. It took a few days, so be patient. But I literally didn't think about him for months (because there were no creatures roaming around!) and his price is very reasonable for what you get! No Contracts for a year, etc...after about 4 months I saw some minimal activity, so called him right away to nip it- same thing- great results! He even found an egg that hatched (literally the size of a rice) and created the new babies I saw. So he removed that while here. Thank you Jacob!! Jacob is absolutely the BEST - I called because he had a high Yelp rating - he came to inspect what I feared was a bloodsucking bug invasion that turned turned out to be a single, tiny, Aegyptus mosquito that had gotten into my place. He thought that was the case on my initial phone call, based on my description of the bites (at least eight over a period of five days). I thought that was ridiculous, a single insect that was so tiny to have done so much damage - then I actually killed a flying insect a couple of days later, thinking it was a gnat, and then I showed him the body - and he confirmed it. The point is, he was right. He still provided a thorough inspection anyway which was showed I was okay (fortunately!). I was grateful and insisted on paying him for coming out - anyway - and he refused. It doesn't seem like much - but I was scared after suffering so many bites and he could have taken me for a ride - even for "preventative maintenance" (like people do so often nowadays) - but he Didn't - he told me what it honestly was, and that simply was that. I saw a cockroach crawl into my cabinet last night. Today I called Jacob near the end of the work day and he arrived in just 10 minutes! He was super friendly and highly knowledgeable. I thought it was going to be a huge ordeal where i'd have to get my place gassed and leave for hours but he made it super easy and just applied a non toxic chemical to all areas roaches tend to roam. It took 15 minutes and he guaranteed that after a week I wouldn't see a single roach again. He said if they weren't gone he'd come back free of charge to do it again, since these guys are hard to get rid of. After about a week the ants were coming back so he came again, right away, and did another type of spray and got rid of them completely. It's been a few weeks and no fire ants in sight.
