Authentic Chinese restaurant in Eugene. I've been here many times. Xiao long bao and dan dan noodles are must-try's. Xiao long bao is better than Din Tai Feng in Beaverton in my opinion, and you don't have to drive all the way there. For $7, you get the most authentic dan dan noodles here. The original version of dan dan noodles does not come with the soup, and many restaurants didn't make it correctly even though they call dish "dan dan noodles". Surprisingly cozy inside whereas I thought it was mostly a take out with limited seating. I was so wrong! Huge menu and variety. Not as spicy as I would like on some items, but they do provide sauces that let you customize . Good for small group to share a bunch of things. Definitely get the green beans and any of the steamed or fried buns. read more

We have been unable to work out what people like about this place. We are not huge fans of dumplings as a main course, so we had the Jajang noodles and broccoli beef, which are fairly standard chinese fare. Both dishes were extremely greasy and salty with a huge amount of terrible oily sauce. Dreadful. Can't say we'll rush back any time soon. Hong Kong restaurant remains our go-to. read more

First of all, wow!!! Came here with our Big Bark Wildland Fire Crew after a long run and it was everything we needed. The service by Winston was amazing, friendly and very helpful with questions. The food was incredible and came out really quick despite us having a 19 person party. The wontons were easily the best I've ever had and I am a dim sum fanatic and the hot and sour beef noodle soup almost brought me to tears of joy. However, once the food was delivered our server basically forgot about us and became engrossed in his phone instead. We had to get up to ask for the check. I was underwhelmed with my food from Jade Dumpling & Noodle House. It is very expensive for what you get. I enjoyed the soup dumplings and lo mein but was otherwise disappointed. The bao buns were dry and the scallion pancake was DRENCHED in oil. I also was bummed that the only sauce provided was a spicy chili sauce, which is inconsistent with what I'd normally get (some kind of sweet, soy sauce-based dipping sauce). read more

Everything we ordered was fabulous: egg drop soup, pork Xiao long bao, shrimp shumai (my favorite), chicken fried noodle, Mongolian beef, and red bean sesame balls! It was such a pleasant experience we have on our dinner. We usually dine in every once a week or every other week but haven't been able to throughout summer as we got so busy. We came back last night and they still remember where we usually wanted to be seated. It was so thoughtful, I really appreciate that. As always, food was excellent! It never disappoint. Even though it was a busy night, they still managed to serve our food on a timely manner. We didn't have to wait for long. They have lamb skewer special on that night and it's expectacular! It's tasty and unexpectedly tender. I love that it's bite size which makes it easy to eat. Also, it's a good amount of serving even for bite size. We also got to try their sesame balls and it's wonderful! Crunchy sesame on the outside and mochi texture with red bean inside. It's delightful, I'll sure order that everytime we go there. When you spend years experimenting in the kitchen developing your cooking skills, you become picky and want to enjoy well prepared and flavorful food when eating out. We have been coming here for a number of years - back when it was called Legend of Szechuan. There is not a dish on the menu that we don't like. My husband speaks some Chinese and it is always fun to hear him talk with the staff. Our favorite waiter is a young man from Nanjing, though everyone is really great and friendly. Their talented chef waves to us when he sees us sitting there. Some of our favorite dishes are Xiao Long Bao, the rib hot pot is fantastic. Try the Sichaun Jajang noodles they are mouth watering. All of their dumplings are to die for. I haven't tried all of their soups but I will! The mao pao tofu and stir fried green beans are excellent. I could go on and on. If you want authentic to this region of China dishes, this is the only place in Eugene for it. We always have leftovers. My husband's birthday is coming up and we plan on inviting a few friends to join us for a big feast. I can't wait! Sorry, no photos, maybe next time. read more

Dumplings in spicy sauce (not too spicy) Pork soup dumplings (xiao long bao)- so good! Sechuan pork steamed buns Sesame balls- comped to us for free due to a misunderstanding with the bill- totally not necessary but very kind, and yummy! Food is great! Very different from other restaurants in town, they definitely use fresh ingredients and all made from scratch; I'd even bet the shrimp are battered right there. Love the mixed fried rice and coconut shrimp with broccoli! Their dumplings are different with a hint of ginger. The restaurant was pretty packed full of people, Saturday early dinner time, says it's a good restaurant. This was my second time eating at the Jade Dumpling & Noodles House, but first time eating at the 5th ave location. I was surprised by the creativity in every dish, and the vibrant colors in the vegetables. I came here with a couple of buddies and would recommend eating family style. While you can order by the plate, this location offers a lot more options that explore different proteins and vegetables. The services were designed for a good time, as our server Winson can be described as helpful and kind. He gave us a lot of input on what his favorite dishes are and we loved his recommendations. We also met the chef, Mr. Xu, a hard working man that is extremely passionate about his cooking. Have been a few times and mostly good experiences. Very good food but seemed very rigid the last time we went with someone who has allergies. Only dish they could eat was the coconut shrimp and broccoli hot dish. Asked them to sub chicken and they wouldn't. They didn't even offer a compromise. TLDR: The food was delicious! The service needs some help. If I lived nearby, this would near the top of my list for take-out. Again, the food was delicious! One very minor complaint is that we ordered 3 dishes for two people, and they all came out separate, several minutes apart. On the flip side they were all delicious and hot. Regarding the service, I really do mean they need help. All the staff was friendly and helpful when you got them, but it was like there was no system, literally service staff moving randomly from table to table to kitchen. No one server attended to your table. Every time one left we began to wonder if we'd ever see another one. To be fair, overall our service was not that slow, but we could see multiple other tables getting irritated at times. One table might get their order in right away, while another who was three seatings ahead might wait and wait. I think one experienced server could whip this place into shape in no time. Alternatively, a pivot to ordering at a counter and taking a number to be served would work perfectly well. Cleaning up the service is all that stands between this place and a five star review.
