Jade House is one of about three Chinese restaurants I order from in Bergen. Today I ordered their sesame chicken. The serving size was generous and it arrived hot and on time. Unfortunately, the chicken wasn't as crispy as I like and it was under-sauced, which is rare for me to say. I never usually say things have ittle sauce. Usually it's the opposite. The pieces that did have sauce were flavorful but the ones without sauce were just Ok. Overall, I'll probably continue to order from here but the quality is just middle of the road. read more

Ordered delivery on a Friday evening (8pm) and delivered within a reasonable time (30 mins). Food tasted it just came off the stovetop (food was hot ). Their crab rangoon could be better but their general tso chicken was good and I liked my chicken and broccoli. Will definitely order from here again. read more

Tough time at Jade House today as their chef apparently quit, and it's husband and wife owners in the kitchen! Restaurant is busy with walk-in and phone/online orders. Looks like 5 & 6 year old boys manning the register! Everyone was courteous and pleasant! Order my usual chicken in garlic sauce, pork fried rice, and hot & sour soup. Soup was very hearty but had next to no flavor as it seems the chef forgot to add the vinegar, which gives the sour taste. Added some of my own, and soup was fine! Pork fried rice had a few visible pieces of pork in it and was okay. Chicken had a real garlic smell to it, but not much in the flavor. It was decent, but lacking in chicken. Giving 4 stars to be generous! I'll give them another try in the future once they have a new chef! read more

As someone who grew up on the east coast, I don't understand why California can't make Chinese food. Moving to LA has made me appreciate classic Chinese American food and Jade House does not fail to deliver (both figuratively and literally). I ate here for the second time while I was here for a wedding, and it's just so classic. The General Tso's Chicken is crispy and delicious--the fried rice is a perfect complement to the meal, and the egg drop soup just soothes my hungover soul after a night of debauchery and absolutely blasted frenzy. California, take note. I don't need Chinese food to be "healthy." I know what I'm getting into, and if I want to feel like death after eating a super greasy meal, that is my choice as an American. Local residents of Fort Lee/Pal Park/wherever else these magical Chinese fairies deliver to--enjoy the commonly taken for granted blessing that is a solid Chinese American cuisine locally. read more

How do they have such good reviews? We live right nearby but never ordered here before. Decided to go on a quick stroll & pick up food. They have a huge hand sanitizer on the table near where you order with menus & condiments. We had the boneless spare rib lunch special hubby got white rice & a egg roll. Order of wings only. I got the beef w peppers with pork fried rice & an eggroll And for good measure I also got a veggie lo mein & hubby pork lo mein. Don't judge us, we didn't finish in one meal. The lunch specials were mostly rice & barely any meat. My beef w peppers was mostly onion & bell peppers not much beef.. and the beef I had was just way too salty. My veggie lo mein looked like my hubby's pork lo mein without the pork. Im used to having my veggie lo mein have a lot of veggies... so i was disappointed. The eggrolls & wings were fine. What a wonderfully tasty dinner. Ordered moo goo gai pan, boneless spareribs, tofu with broccoli, cold sesame noodles, hot and sour soup and veg tofu soup. This was delicious, the hot and sour soup was spicy and not gooey like some. Everything was fresh, and the seasonings were spot on. I have been looking for a decent Chinese restaurant for years and have made do with mediocre fare-until NOW. The chicken was melt in your mouth, the garlic sauce perfect. Tofu usually in a sugary sauce, this one was savory and just delicious. Noodles-not too peanut with a wonderful sesame taste. Egg rolls crispy, not greasy at all. Loved every bite. I have been a customer of this place for years....Back when it was called Oversea. I'm talking about 9 years or so....... anyway, I order all the time from them and I'd say I spend over 100.00 a month on this place. I placed an order today, and when it arrived, I signed for it (because I put it on my charge card) and added a 2 dollar tip. The douchebag delivery guy then proceeded to tell me that he is losing money on my business! I called and complained to the owner, who told me he would credit my card back to the food (because I demanded) - I would and will never order again from there. I have ordered from Jade House for over 5 years! Very hard working family always there to tend to your needs even with some language barrier, the food is fresh specially for take outs! My kids love everything from the ribs to chicken and broccoli! They try to keep the restaurant clean and will accommodate customers (even if olive oil is preferred) I think that says a lot ! Tried this place for the first and last time. The highlight was the eggroll, and was the only item I would order again if I were to try the place again. Hot&sour soup was just okay. You just need Chinese food sometimes. It's almost an addiction but growing up in the northeast you just need to satisfy your cravings or else you'll go crazy. Jade house is a solid place to go to for Chinese food. This small CLEAN Chinese spot is just a block away from ymca where the old shop right was many years ago... Went in ordered food for my family got sesame chicken shredded beef and two shrimp dishes and a bunch of side orders. The lady behind the counter was awesome! first time coming to a Chinese restaurant and having an actual conversation about there food. Usually this is my go-to takeout place when I'm in the area however the quality of the food has noticeably gone down and fluctuates with each order. It is disappointing since the prices are so great and delivery is quick and easy. The rice is sometimes over cooked and the dumplings are mainly dough with barely any filling - which is crazy when you see the size of these dumplings! The egg rolls are heinously greasy, again - a lot of starch with not enough filling inside. I've been coming regularly for about 7 years since I live nearby. I usually order the same group of items and they all taste consistently good. They are very accommodating when I sometimes ask for the food to be prepared healthier; ie don't use oil, less salty, etc.. compared to other Chinese restaurants nearby, these owners are super friendly. The reason I gave this place 4 stars is because the people that work there are really awesome. They are very friendly and provide great service. After a long day at work, Chinese Take-Out was in order for friday night dinner. We have many options in town but Jade House happened to be on my way home and quite good. The staff is very friendly and provide great service. The woman at the counter said my order would take 10 minutes, it did not so I sat with my soda and waited about only 5 minutes. There are a few tables if you wanted to eat in the restaurant but it is nothing special. It is clean and I was happy to see them cleaning the tables around me as I waited. The portions are plentiful for the price, hot and tasty. The food stayed piping hot till I got home. My one compliant is the use of the white styrofoam takeout box. Combination plates come with fried rice and an egg roll are a good value. I ordered the Pork Lo Mein combo a little carb overload but there is enough for another meal or to be shared by two. Glad to see the egg roll was not greasy. It is your typical Chinese Take-Out food but I gave them a four star rating for the staff because they were very courteous and accommodating. read more

Always a good selection for Chinese. One of the better places in Fort Lee and has a pretty good selection. Prices are very reasonable as the portions are very large and the quality is very good as well. Our favorites include the beef and string beans with black bean sauce, general tso's chicken, sweet and sour, and shrimp with lobster sauce. This place has some good food (its not the best chinese) and is where I usually order my takeout chinese food. They have great lunch specials, I usually get the sesame chicken. They have ample parking for take out because it is by the rite aid and the community center. They have some chairs and tables you could sit inside but I rarely see anyone do it. I usually get delivery but sometimes they take awhile during the peak hours because they have so many orders. read more
