Spicy Tuna Roll

The food was good, but kind of expensive. They do large portions but I feel like still it isn't worth the full price. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is cute though[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Spring Rolls with Shrimp ($7.95)

Food was fine, nothing noteworthy - came here after there was no availability at the nearby handmade udon spot. It has Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Asian Fusion, and Sushi items on the menu. Tried: CA Roll ($8) - I much prefer minced imitation crab over just an entire stick but it tasted fine. Futomaki ($8.25) - Nice but sort of small. Teka Maki ($5) - Nicely made roll, fresh tuna Spring Rolls ($7.95 for shrimp) - These were pretty good, loved that it came with lots of peanut sauce. Korean Chicken Wings ($12.95) - delicious, crispy, large, with a sticky-sweet sauce Pickled cucumbers as a amouse bouche were a good touch. Food came out quickly, staff is friendly.

I love Jae's menu and all the seasonal dishes he rotates in the menu and the menu always has the classic's. The service is quick and the food is just right. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Jae really makes this place a vibe and a great dining experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Sashimi Dinner

We sat at the bar so we got to see them make sushi in front of us. I loved the freshness of the sushi, kind of wishing for some omekase or an idea of what to expect for sashimi and sushi dinners. We came here in whim so it was a fun experience for us. Loved the ambiance and the little bamboo plates to hold the ginger and wasabi.

Uni Nigiri, always fresh!

Fantastic restaurant! The staff are always kind and welcoming. Ingredients are fresh and expertly prepared. I have yet to try anything on the menu that wasn't tasty, id recommend exploring the non sushi options, many are fantastic

10.15.16: Man oh Man! I was a bit skeptical because of the thought that they serve Chinese food and other random asian food all mixed up. So can it be that their sushi is good? So we came just in time for happy hour. I think that's the way to go with this place. I can't believe my eyes when I noticed what they actually have on happy hour. There are so many Plus Side to this..so let me break it down: 1) Hours: Their hours for happy hour is 5-7 and includes Sat. Yup folks it's actually nice that it ends at 7 and not at 6. Sat happy hour?? Always a plus in my book. 2) $3 beers, oh com' on. Really only $3. Yes it's only 12 oz but serious this is a good deal. 3) Their appetizer pricing is actually average for happy hour. So nothing wowzers here. But the selection is nice. 9 apps to choose from is alot. My favorite were the wings, definitely a good deal and has the right crispiness. 4) Can I get a DRUM ROLL PLEASE! Ultimate happy hour menu item : Sashimi!!! Yup, $5 dollar sashimi and it was fresh, delicious, and surprisingly more than I can imagine a happy hour fish would taste like. We got lots of orders of the Salmon, Yellowtail and Albacore. I was so hungry we just ate it right away and I forgot to take pictures. =) . The fish was perfect, not chewy at all. I was in heaven. We order other things that are not on happy hour and those were just as good. A 5 star in my book and almost forgot to mention the stellar service. The lady was on it. I think she was the owner, I got my refills on time every single time. Great place!

The udon here is quite good! This place definitely gives the vibe of a hidden gem. Seating was…read moreeasy, parking nearby street is free on Sundays. I ordered the tomato beef udon. The udon were really good but if you let them sit for a long time they get a bit soggy and lose their texture, mainly a concern if you eat really slow though. Broth was also great, just a tiny bit of spice really added to it Overall I'd definitely come back here!

I went here yesterday, Friday, for my birthday with some of my friends and my partner. We arrived…read moreabout 5 minutes after they opened at 5:35pm and were among the very first customers in the place, ordered right away because I know it's a small place and it can take a while for orders to be completed with the small kitchen and staff. My friend and partner received their food and I got something I didn't order (tofu skin on rice balls) so my partner got up and asked the cashier about if this was included in the Tsukiji combination that I ordered and was told yes. We checked several other times about the order after two of my other friends who ordered after us also received their orders along with many other people in the restaurant also getting their food who arrived way after us, and the waiter said 10-15 minutes multiple times. Over 1.5 hours later I finally got my food after I asked to have it to go and if we could have one entree for free since I had been waiting since 5:35pm. The cashier said sorry and that they wouldn't charge for the correction. The rice balls that I didn't order and were given had undercooked grains and were not good. I was really disappointed and sad (and hungry!) because I came here for a special occasion because I have liked this place, and was among the first to order right when they opened and didn't get to enjoy food with my friends. It was frustrating that we checked multiple times and it took them so long to figure out they had made a mistake and then took so long to remedy the situation and they still charged us for food we didn't order. I give a star for the waiter who eventually did try to figure out what happened with the order and who seemed genuinely apologetic, and who gave us plates for my bday cake. Thank you! The cashier also said they would not charge us for my food, but we were charged for the wrong item and it had undercooked rice grains :( Atmosphere is cute and authentic. Food got 1 star because other people in my party got their food and seemed ok with it! Sad that I won't be going here anymore or recommending this place to others anymore based on this poor service and food experience. We had previously Introduced many of our friends to this place.

Well played! The…read morefour of us used the waitlist process to get a table and it worked flawlessly. We encountered very friendly staff upon arrival/seating. As mentioned in other reviews, we also experienced a unique and relaxed atmosphere. They had some good local draft options to get started - which is good. We ordered the Bo La Lot Grilled Beed in Betel Leaf for an appetizer and we loved the combination of ingredients and taste. Our brides ordered the Chaca La Vong Wok Seared Tumeric Rockfish and they both enjoyed it. My son ordered the Pad Kee Mao and I went with the Reckless Fried Rice and we both devoured them! Our waitress (her name wasn't on the receipt) was outstanding....super friendly and patient with all of our questions regarding the menu.

The menu is pretty out there but the flavors on everything were excellent. I tried some of my aunts green beans and I can definitely say they were the best Ive ever had. So much flavor for something I'd usually never get as an app. I went with the five spice duck confit, which comes with a duck leg and thigh. Everything was delicious, noodles, bok choy, and the broth was killer. I drained it after I ate everything. Staff was really great and helpful, we had a kid in our party and they had no problem making a spiced up order of their kids noodles. Get the black sesame ice cream, it had a peanut butter flavor and was super creamy and smooth.

Warm, crispy, pillowy soft, sweet but not overpowering- I woke up the next day still thinking about them. 20/10. Order 2 of them, you will thank yourself later. The Pork Chop was huge and juicy. Started the meal with Sweet Potato Hoe Cake. This had cornbread like texture but felt softer, smoother, quite moist with a sweet honey butter syrup base. BBQ Shrimp tasted out of this world delicious: very fresh head/tail on shrimp cooking in garlic butter, Metier coconut porter. The good to the last drop sauce had bold flavors although quite salty, just perfect for dipping the focaccia in. Unc's Wing was equally endearing: rubbed in a 13-spice blend, with perfect crispness and plump, juicy flesh beneath the coating. Butter-basted cabbage was a rare treat: basted with butter that accentuates the sweetness of caramelized cabbage. Miso butter sauce a great match. The drink I ordered was less intriguing: Kinfolk (bourbon, Jamaican, rum, Cynar, and pecan liqueur) was bourbon heavy, very balanced nonetheless just not memorable. The chocolate truffle was the only item we did not enjoy: it had hard shell and very dense filling.
