We went to Jake's Roadhouse to celebrate my birthday with a BBQ dinner with family and friends,we love BBQ for many style of BBQ. This our first time at Jake's Roadhouse in the city of Monrovia on a Saturday,we throught will be a busy night at the restaurant it wasn't there's were customers enjoy this meal then we ask the waiter for a table he looks around the restaurant and found a table for us. We sat down then we look at the menu to see what to order everybody order on their own but my wife and I order BBQ combo it's come with a half a chicken,Tri Tip,two BBQ pork ribs, two BBQ beef ribs and two sides,we decided pick potato salad and mac n cheese to our meal. The atmosphere at Jake's Roadhouse is relaxing and a feeling see classic interior sign from the past that you can remember those doesn't exist anymore but enjoy walking to back in time. The waiter but out meal our BBQ combo meal to our table it looks scrumptious good. I cut a piece of the bbq chicken it was juicy, and tender and getting that smoke flavor in the chicken. And a bite of the Tri Tip it was tender and cover bbq sauce it good but it little bit too much of the bbq sauce but I enjoy it. The bbq pork ribs were very meaty they so good then bbq beef ribs they were meaty too with good flavor. The potato salad were very good full of flavors in the potato salad and mac n cheese was amazing cheesy good that I really enjoy. Meal come two muffins they very good. Everybody including ourselves enjoy the meal we were very happy and next try different items.

What a wonderful meal we had at Jake's. Visiting town for a friend's birthday we were looking for a breakfast place and stumbled upon Jake's. When you enter you get that homey, locals spot feel. Lots of memorabilia and Route 66 vibes. Our breakfast was delicious and filling. My boyfriend and I both had the ABT omelette: Avocado/Bacon/Tomato. His with home fries mine with berries. We loved our Huge omelettes and the berries were amazing! The sour dough was doughy. Highly recommend! Excellent service too

Tried out this place on a whim and ordered a full rack of baby back ribs and a chili bowl. Both came with corn bread and chose the baked beans as a side. The ribs were really good and they give a hearty amount for the price. Chili was also good but very greasy. Would def return when in the area...

This restaurant is on Myrtle in Monrovia downtown. It has brunch menu and lunch/dinner menu is bbq style. Service is very friendly and attentive. Spacious inside the restaurant. Also really fun atmosphere and great energy. Can't ask for more. Wait! The portions are huge here so come hungry! I tried their new york steak and eggs with potatoes and toast. 12oz steak with 3 eggs. I picked hash brown and English muffin (brunch must haves). Also got to try their homemade bbq sauce. My friend introduced me to it and it is very yummy It has movie theater, boutique , shops and cafes all within couple blocks. Parking is 90mins in the front or parking lot in the back.

Fun place with Fantastic food. Bbq baby back ribs are really really delicious, the meat just falls off the bone. Sides are great also, we had onion rings, fries & the beans (w/bacon) soooo good. The fun thing to do is read all the fun signs. Clean - even the bathroom. Staff essentially friendly. I had a cranberry mimosa. Wow!!

Jake's Roadhouse's food was awesome!!--KISS THE CHEF!!! George, one of the servers, was just kind the whole time. The people were friendly too. The town of Monrovia was quaint and family friendly--I don't think anyone will be disappointed. I'll definitely come back when I am in CA again.

Beef ribs sauce on the side excellent. Service is always great. You can't go wrong quick and efficient. Ambience is really unique probably nothing else like it around. If you're in the mood for barbecue or great food or a steak, this is the place for you.

2026.01 Yup of course even after I moved away I had to revisit on two separate occasions. Trip 1: beer battered zucchini fries. Top ranked for execution and size. Thanks for seasoning these! Trip 2: raspberry lemon pancakes I ordered these to go. Be warned of course even with holes punched to vent, the zucchini will not hit the same as fresh in house. Pancakes made me emotional bc they are SO GOOD and appreciate 3 servings of specialty pink butter and syrups.

I have a confession to make. I failed as a modern Yelper. I fully intended to be that person who takes a high quality, perfectly lit photo of my meal before touching it, but when the food arrived, my lizard brain took over. The spicy smoked sausages looked so good that I was three bites deep before I even remembered I owned a phone. The spice level was perfect. Just eough of a kick to let you know they mean business without nuking your taste buds. The servings are generous, if you leave this place hungry, that's honestly a personal failing on your part. The real star of the show is the BBQ sauce. The restaurant has plenty of seating and a staff so friendly you'll think you accidentally stumbled into a family reunion where everyone actually likes each other. The food came out hot and faster than I could prepare my camera, and I spent most of the meal staring longingly at my son's rib plate. I highly recommend this place, just don't expect a photo from me next time either. I clearly have zero chill when the BBQ is this good.

Really love this spot! If you're craving a barbecue fix, I highly recommend coming here. The portions are huge and definitely shareable. We ordered the Monster Rib Combo, which comes with two corn muffins (so incredibly moist!), two sides, a half rack of baby back ribs, plus two pork ribs and two beef ribs. The plate was massive, even with two people, we couldn't finish it. Also, the coleslaw here is superior. I liked it so much I ordered an extra one to take home so we could enjoy it with our leftovers. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and you can tell it's a true family-style restaurant. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Visitation Rights: 1 Background On Visit: Two months ago, we decided to patronize the shop to support the owner. He lost his house in the Altadena Fire. Credit Cards: They're accepted Restrooms: Restrooms are available to use. Location/Parking: Closest major cross streets are South Myrtle Ave. and E. Olive Ave.. Parking can be found in the residential area, nearby public parking lots, or along Myrtle Ave.. Ambiance/Decor: Had this homey feeling and pretty neat decor along the walls. Service: Service was good and food came out fast. Jump Start Of Choice: 1) Bowl Of Chili And Corn Muffins: The chili was simple, but delicious. The corn muffins were a little dry. BBQ Combo Of Choice: 1) Phat Mike's Delight: 1/2 smoked chicken, Tri-Tip, 1 BBQ pork rib, 1 BBQ beef rib, 1 hot link sausage. Enjoyed the combo a lot. It had a little bit of almost every meat offering. The hot link was a bit spicy for so didn't really enjoy it much. The combo also included two sides. Got the mac and cheese (a bit overcooked and kinda bland) and potato salad (decent. You can taste the sourness). Jakes Roadhouse For Thought: Don't mind coming back.

When I went there approximately a month or so ago, they had the NBA playoffs on one of their tvs. Being So. Cal, I am sure they would put on a dodger game for you. I enjoyed the food, but the server we had was pretty cool, and had we had asked him,…

    Are dogs allowed on patio?

Yes our four legged family are very welcome. The servers are very nice to accommodate them.

He made a few suggestions on ordering which worked out well, it was all delicious. There's also free valet service that saves you the craziness from finding the scarce street parking. The bad: The prime rib was both overcooked and undercooked. It seemed like my portion was sliced off the original roast then cooked in a broiler. When it came out, the outer layer was cooked medium well. However, cutting into the meat revealed that it was still raw on the inside. I asked for medium rare, and I can recognize medium rare, but the meat inside was a dark red. That's raw or rare at best. I flagged down the waiter to send it back and he was very nice about it. The meat came back with the same problem. Outer layer was again cooked medium well since the meat was all light brown color, no pink at all. Cutting into it revealed a dark red meat inside. I took a few more bites but didn't want to send it back again. The chef was off that night and I didn't want to be a difficult customer. I would recommend something else on the menu, stay away from the prime rib.

For starters we ordered the bacon wrapped dates with bleu and mascarpone cheese and tempura green beans. Our entrees for the evening were the poblano burger with side salad and the chicken breast with mushroom risotto and broccolini. There was no room for desert otherwise I would've gone with the bread pudding. This is definitely a must try if in the Monrovia area.

We sat at a table by the front window facing the main drag. The area definitely has an old town feel with many restaurants and shops up and down the street. There is also a park right across the street. There is plenty of parking around the corner on the street and in a nearby lot. I started out with the Coughlin's Law cocktail (Aviation gin, house infused vanilla syrup, fresh lemon, egg white, lavender bitters, $16). It was a good light drink with light vanilla and lemon flavor. I always love a good foam top too. She started out with a Basil Paloma (Herradura silver tequila, muddled basil & grapefruit, fresh grapefruit juice, lime, simple syrup, seltzer, $15). It had good grapefruit and basil flavor, and was nicely balanced. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower appetizer ($14). The cauliflower was supposed to be grilled, but it seemed almost raw. The buffalo sauce definitely had a good kick. For my entrée, I had the Black Angus Basin Burger (manchego cheese, carmelized onions, arugula, special sauce, brioche bun, $19). The burger was excellent. The cheese, carmelized onions, and arugula was a great flavor combo. The fries were good, but I'd order them more crispy next time. She had the two taco plate with fish and potato tacos ($15). The taco shells were freshly fried, and it was a filling plate that she enjoyed. We had one more round of drinks and I had the Billionaire cocktail (Old Forrester 100 proof bourbon, lemon, house made grenadine, absinthe, $16). This was excellent. It was very balanced, and not boozy at all with a very light sweetness. Her second was the Smoke and Fire (Peloton de la Muerte mezcal, Ancho Reyes liqueur, muddled jalapeno & orange, fresh lime, agave, chili salt, $15). It was pretty well balanced with a medium smokiness. It definitely had a kick of heat on the finish. Our server Lakyn was friendly and provided good service. The menu prices are cash prices. There is an extra 3.5% surcharge if you pay with a credit card. The buffalo cauliflower appetizer was mostly a miss, but everything else was very good so I'm rounding up to five stars. They have a very good sized cocktail and food menu, as well as many beers on tap. They also have happy hour specials. We would definitely return if we were in the area again.

Both of them were very nice and attentive and offered a quality of service that far outmatched the quality of the food. The restaurant was pretty full already even at about 4:00-4:30 for an early dinner on a Sat and was quite noisy between the talking and background music.
