My latest experience at Jake's was very disappointing. Our waitress was fantastic. Drinks were good my complaint is about the food & portions. The chicken tenders were about the size of a child's fingers. The burgers were pitiful in size seems like the buns are extra big while the meat patty was dang near paper thin when I got finished eating I had a half of bun left with no meat. I understand the cost of everything is going up, but come on Jakes y'all can do better. If you are going to serve paper thin meat then decrease the price & the bun size. read more

Uhhhh we just ordered food from here earlier today and have been sick to our stomachs since we ate it about 5 hours ago. Came to Yelp to look at the reviews and I'm wondering why there have been so many people with stomach issues after eating here...deeply concerning to put it mildly. We got onion rings, mozzarella sticks (which something tasted odd with these) and the hatch chile chicken quesadillas (which also tasted odd). Idk what they're doing when they're prepping that food or maybe it's with how they're storing it but I feel like they need to shut this location down. Clean everything deeply. Go item by item to make sure nothing is expired or bad. And retrain the staff/cooks on sanitation. Bleh! read more

I LOVE JAKES! I've been going to the original Jakes in Dallas since I was little. Disappointed today. The table had crumbs on it when we sat down. It took 10 minutes for us to get our drinks, the appetizer came out quick but was cold. We ordered both to go food & food to eat at the table, but the to go food came out faster, so we ended up getting everything to go instead. We came for the opening weekend & it was much better, but definitely disappointed today. read more

This the burger place I have been waiting for in Sachse, I just didn't know it yet! We went to Jake's for the first time a few weeks ago. Since they opened recently, I didn't expect much. We went on a Saturday around 5ish and they already had a waitlist. Although they said it would be about 30-45 minutes, we were seated in about 20 minutes. Although they were extremely busy, our server Aiden, was quick and attentive and we had great service. Finally, the food. Again, my first time, so I wasn't sure what to expect. Best burger in the Metroplex. I have been going to the original in Dallas for 30 plus years. The new one in Sachse is really good. Tastes just like the original. I made a to go order, person I spoke to on phone was nice. My wife and I drove to go pick up, food was not ready despite being told that it should be ready 15 minutes after the order was placed. We wait there for about 20 minutes, people are trying to pick up their order as well, and bar tender is telling others that he is JUST the bar tender, which ok I guess, but seemed kind of rude. We got our food, and when we open order at home, we saw that we were missing our fried pickles and that our loaded tater tots only had cheddar cheese and bacon. And they gave us like a tablespoon of ranch. VERY disappointed with this experience. I'm not sure of I'll be going back. Waited too long, paid too much, no thank you. read more

Food was solid, looks cool, but service is sucks and is slow. It started out with the waiter forgetting my wife's drink. So I had to ask twice, but this is after he had been by a couples times and asked if we were ready to order. It was only after he asked if I wanted another, and I commented that my wife was still waiting on her Dr. Pepper, did he realize that he forgot it. Then never refilled it. Later I asked for a shot after the drink I ordered was sub par they brought me the wrong one. I let them know but I said it was fine and took it anyways so nothing was wasted. Later when I asked for the correct one they said it was too close to the last one i took... which was not even the one i ordered... and yes i got charged for it too. We stopped by the newest location for lunch. Not super busy, but it was getting there after we got our food! We tried the chicken fried bacon- served with gravy & hot maple syrup- it was delicious!! I ordered the Jake Burger- hubby has the frito pie- both were really good!! Way too much food!! The service was excellent-Javorion did a great job, kept our drinks filled and made sure we didn't need anything!! So happy we have a Jake's close by now! Lots of TV's to keep up with sports while you're eating and the bar looks fully stocked - maybe next visit we will have a cocktail with our meal!! read more

Strike 1 for Jake's. Live close in the neighborhood and decided to walk up there to grab dinner. The last few times there we've always had a good experience. Got our drink promptly then it went downhill. Gal behind the bar deserted us, gentleman who took our order messed up my wife's salad, then she had to wait another 20+ minutes to get her food. I ordered the Chicken Club sandwich & the chicken was so thin (Looked like they pounded it with a sledgehammer...) & was the width of a vinyl record. Bad experience overall! Good burgers, i mean really a bit better than average but the poppy seed buns are *chefs kiss* However, this place is not cheap, for some burgers and fries to feed a family of four it was absolutely not affordable. Service was ok, but I don't knock them on that since it seems most of the staff were teenagers from the local high schools. A very teen hangout kind of place other than the bar (obviously). Jake's was quite unsatisfying. First thing when I get there, I can already be blasted by the loud atmosphere due to the small space given. We eventually are sat at our table, and our waiter comes around. He was a young man, and when we were ordering kids meals for our children, he refused to place the order due to them being older than 12 years old. It was quite ridiculous, and after a couple minutes of arguing with the defiant young man, he finally allowed it. Lastly, we got the food, which was alright. The servers were amazing and the environment is nice; the kitchen however, we needed a burger remade twice. My burger got remade once. As we were waiting for our order to be right, we heard another table also have a wrong order. Talked to the general manager and she was a very nice lady and we talked it out. For a just opened restaurant they did better than alot of local establishments that have been around Sachse/Wylie for a while. Music was not blaring, I could have a conversation and understand my server when they talked. Kitchen was fast, food was hot, everything came out in a timely fashion. Our server JV was attentive and all the staff were helpful. Very happy to have a Jakes nearby finally, especially one that can pull off a grand opening this well read more
