JAM is now my go to spot when I want to enjoy good food. I have tried several of the items on the large menu and this is my second time here. The banana pudding pancakes were out of this world. From their pancakes, to their omelettes, to their sides. Everything gives you the rolling of the eyes in the back of your head feeling. Please don't walk.. but run to JAMs and enjoy a great meal. The last time I came out here, the restaurant had a different name, same menu. Since then, the interior has changed, it feels more open then it did before. The menu is pretty extensive, with lots and lots of options for breffis and brunch. The last time I was here, I got this lovely option that came with a waffle, eggs, meat, potatoes and all the things. Since I'm off dairy (and who wants cheese less eggs) I got the chicken and waffles. From first look, nommers, as everything looked in full perfection. IMHO the chicken was a little under seasoned for me. The waffle was cool as was the syrup and the hot, I believe honey that came with it. I think the next time I go there, I'll order what I know. Came here with a small group for brunch and very much enjoyed myself. The place was packed and the wait was an hour on a Sunday. I'd suggest putting your name on the list then doing some shopping nearby in the large shopping centers. The restaurant is standard in terms of a nice, clean, welcoming, lively breakfast spot. I ordered coffee and steak and eggs. I subbed the home fries for sautéed spinach. For appetizers, my table shared biscuits and gravy and wings. Honestly everything tasted good. I especially loved my entree which left me fully satisfied. The service was standard and kept at a suitable pace for the crowd. No complaints there. My food and service was great! this place popped up on my Yelp a week ago and was showing it as hot and new. So I suggested to my husband that we give it a try and I am very glad that we did. Located in Ellicott city closer to Columbia this gem is open and booming! There was a bit of a wait, less than ten minutes! Our food came out fast! We had the fruity pebble pancakes to share. I would put them in my top 3 pancakes ever! I also had the lobster Benedict! Delicious too! The cappuccino I had was good too. The home fries were delicious and tasted so fresh! I went here for my cousins birthday brunch on the 19th of January. The food was decent and the ambiance was definitely pretty busy. I don't know if I'd recommend this place or not to be honest, due to the service. It was mediocre nothing to write home about. So was the food. I wanted to really try their crab cake Benedict but couldn't because a food allergy at the table so probably will return to do that. Visited JAM for a Mom/Daughter date. First timers. The restaurant was jammed packed (pun intended) I love a restaurant with a "join the waitlist" feature. I'm mean c'mon, every restaurant should offer this convenience. Ok, I digress. We timed it perfect though, upon arriving we got a text with a table ready notice and were seated immediately. The ambience 9/10 - A casual and laid back vibe. The Service 10/10 - It's pretty busy on a Saturday so you can expect to wait just a bit longer than average. Kya, our server was GREAT. Her knowledge of the menu was on point. She made some good recommendations. The food - Brunch Appetizer - Pig Candy. I mean the name speaks for itself, it was a little savory and a little sweet. 9/10. Jam combo breakfast with croissant French toast was cooked perfectly and there was flavor. However, the croissant French toast fell flat for me. I guess I envisioned a larger croissant with more of a "French toast" coating of egg/milk mixture, but what I got was a mini croissant that looked like it came out the toaster :-). 7/10 due to the croissant. Lobster Benedict well seasoned and the lobster wasn't overcooked. The egg was the right consistency. No complaints, you'll enjoy this plate. 8/10. Banana Pudding for dessert to end our pallet - it didn't disappoint! Go check them out, solid place to enjoy brunch with your date, friend, or family. So another date lead us to Jam eateries former Eggspectation. I must say the upgrade was much needed the service is much better & food as well. It was a pretty busy Sunday but we were seated rather quickly & our server (sadly I forgot her name) was amazing. I started off with the Mimosa flight & I was in for a pleasant surprise cause these little jokers packed a hell of a punch that left me with a nice little buzz. Afterwards I decided to go with the Maryland crab omelette, but I wanted to try their fruity pebble pancakes they looked delicious but I'm trying to eat better. The omelette was good but my only issue was the egg was too running. Nothing is worse than when I go to pick the the proportion of egg up & it's running. Besides that I was pleased with the amount of crab meat giving that allowed me to have crabmeat on every bite I took. The wife elected for the shrimp & grits with crabmeat added on for an additional $5 which was a deal cause she ended up with more crabmeat than me. Plus the shrimp were huge. My final grade on Jam eateries is 8 outta 10 besides the running omelette part it would've been higher but it's definitely a place I'll be back especially after I'm done with this diet read more

This is the biggest brunch spot in Columbia and I am not particularly sure why. It gets extremely crowded on the weekends so be sure to be aware and put your name on the waitlist before you show up at 11 and find yourself waiting 30 minutes. It's a typical brunch spot with no particular twist on any items. However the menu is quite vast with a large selection of omelets and other breakfast items. It replaced and eggspectation at the same location a few years ago. I have got brunch here a few times in the past year. The food itself is great, no particular issues with anything. I do find myself paying 17 dollars for a vegetarian omelette to be quite too much but nowadays that seems to be the norm. The waffle flavors are also great and sweet (may be too sweet for some so it may just be for those of y'all with a sweet tooth). I have to split it everytime before I feel like the sweetness is too much, but it's a nice touch of dessert. It can get a little bit loud at times and the restaurant does echo a bit so we may have to raise our voices just a little bit. The service is nice and friendly. One time my friends and I finished our meals within and hour and we found ourselves sitting and talking for 3 whole hours afterwards before we were asked to leave (we didn't realize it) and the staff was so polite about it, but they just let us keep sitting and having a good conversation. They also have some funky celebrity paintings hung up that gave us a good laugh. read more

We all thought that we knew what we wanted for our entrees, but we were so in love with the choices once at the table that some of us changed ours. Visited this place a couple weeks ago, the ambiance was very simple (which I think is a lost art), ideal place for a small or medium size group (small to medium size groups are 3-8 ppl gang). Now that's done.....let's get down to the nitty gritty, the bread and butter, the reason you go to any restaurant......The FOOD. I ordered the pancakes (3 of them jokers), and the bacon egg and cheese croissant (the ultimate bacon sandwich is the name on the menu). The pancakes were pretty decent, not exactly on the thinner side but not super fluffy which in my opinion is a pretty decent pancake, with that being said, they weren't the best pancakes I ever had but far from the worst. 6.8/10 The bacon, egg and cheese croissant had a lot of flavor, but it's drowned in a sauce or jam which makes it impossible to actually eat it like a sandwich. 4/10 Overall, the place has a great design all around, customer service was efficient, bathrooms were clean, but the food was underwhelming (but far from bad). I've seen this place reviewed a lot on Tik Tok so when I found myself starving going to Baltimore one day I decided to try them out! The food was cool, nothing super impressive that you can't get anywhere else. The standout was the po boy, they used the good firecracker shrimp for it so we really enjoyed that. The actual inside of the restaurant was cute, we really didn't like that you had to walk through the service area to get seated outside though. I suspect the bar was backed up. The food is just okay. They served the crab dip in a shallow bread bowl. It needed more Old Bay or some kind of seasoning. The crab cake benedict was deceiving. It has a huge fried green tomato slice on it that at first glance, I mistook for the crab cake. The actual crab cake itself was paltry and flat. WHATEVER you do DON'T let them sit you in the back dining room - IT IS TERRIBLE!! We dined here on a weekend afternoon and will give second thoughts about returning. It took about 30 minutes before we were sat in a JAM packed back room in seats that had absolutely no space from one table to the next. If that wasn't bad enough this room was one of LOUDEST spaces we've ever experienced at a restaurant. Yelling, hollering and just flat out loud from all the other tables around us, it was miserable and nothing like the ambiance of the main restaurant. It was impossible to have a conversation with our party and our poor server (who was fine) had a tough time hearing our order. The former Eggspectation location has reopened as Jams. They have brightened up the interior which I nice and added addition seating also a positive. The location is very clean looking but a little cramped compared to the openness of the prior occupant. We sat for a while waiting for a server but when she finally came she was pleasant and took our orders quickly. Took a little long to get our drinks but not horrible. Food took longer than we expected but again not bad. I had the BALT basically a BLT w/avocado that was good but nothing special. My wife enjoyed the Havarti chicken sandwich. This is advertised as a brunch restaurant but the menu selections are limited and not as varied or imaginative as Eggspectations. Delicious. We had seasonal strawberry bruschetta which was sort of small but very tasty. Followed with 2 benedicts- the boca raton and the cajun. Both were excellent. Even the coffee was good. I had a slight issue with the poach on my eggs and the server immediately offered to remake the whole dish. I declined as it was a minor issue but the manager stopped by to also offer to do whatever I wanted to fix it. The dish was so good the slight difference in the eggs had no impact. A replacement for Eggspectation, JAM delivers on great "brunch" foods. Whether you're in the mood for an omelette, pancakes, waffles, crepes or just a regular breakfast of eggs, bacon and toast - not only is every dish a winner (at least the variety I've tried) but service is quite exceptional too. They also have enough space to accommodate a party of 2 to 20 but the larger the party, sound can become a challenge. read more
