This restaurant is beautiful inside. You are transformed to feeling like you're on the coast. The service was amazing. Our server even exchanged our silverware after appetizers. Onto the food....the apps were 5 star. The entrees......they could have been better. My biggest issue was the crab cakes. As a Marylander, we don't deep fry our crab cakes; we broil them. They were just ok. Needed more flaming as well. Would I give this place another try? I sure will but I may just stick to the apps.

We came here with high hopes as it's a great location and the menu looked good. It was a date night with another couple. We were sitting for about 10 minutes before we saw a server, I had to go to the front and ask if we had a server for someone to come over. Our drinks, appetizers and entrées were all put in late... I know this because our server told us our food was put in about 10 minutes after we had already ordered. When it was time for our food to come out (about 45 min later) our server came over and told us that they were out of the prime rib that I had ordered- immediately after everyone else's entrées came out. While my replacement entrée was good, our friend's steak that was supposed to be medium was extra well done and burnt on the ends. He didnt eat it and it was taken off the check. My friend's chicken was dry and cold. When mentioning something to the manager, she seemed very confused about the situation and offered free dessert after my husband stated we were just going to leave (we stayed)... Then the dessert was put on our check. We mentioned something and it was taken off. We were there for basically the whole night because everything took so long. Our friends were really upset. I ended up emailing the restaurant and they offered absolutely nothing but a an apology clearly made from chat GPT which is why I'm writing this review. Service is not good- the fact the manager was unable to step in and help our server or notice anything was wrong isn't acceptable. Food is OK. Not sure if i would ever come back here.

Our server, Chris was great- he was knowledgeable and helpful. The food was delicious. We started with the oysters and spicy tuna cannoli. The oysters were a standout. Fresh and briney. We shared a bottle of Chablis that paired well with the seafood. I opted for the Columbia catch, which was rockfish. My husband had the scallops. Both were good, but the rockfish was our favorite. The nightly specials are intriguing - I'll be back for the $1 oysters on Thursdays!

ied Offshore The Collective for brunch after meeting a friend. They offer a buffet style brunch until 3 PM, and although we arrived close to closing, the staff was kind enough to still honor the buffet, appreciated that. That said, the buffet was a miss for me. There were a lot of seafood heavy options that I couldn't indulge in, and nothing really wowed me enough to go back for seconds. However, the location is gorgeous with beautiful water views, and the bar looks like it would be a great happy hour spot. Glad I tried it to kick off the new year, but not sure I'd return for brunch. I am considering checking out their connected spot, The Encore, for brunch bingo.

Visited Offshore Collective with my partner and overall had a really pleasant experience, though getting there was an adventure. There's plenty of parking, but the restaurant is a bit tucked away. We actually walked into Encore Collective by mistake first (wind was wild that night), but shoutout to the staff there for kindly escorting us over to Offshore--great first impression. Once seated, I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful the space is. The design is modern coastal and very intentional--white tables, light wood floors, neutral tones, and subtle navy accents. The rope detailing across the ceiling adds a nautical touch without feeling cheesy. Frosted glass dividers, greenery, and warm lighting make the space feel upscale yet comfortable. Definitely a date-night-friendly vibe. Service was top tier from start to finish. Our server was attentive, welcoming, and offered great recommendations. For drinks, I had the citrus mule mocktail, which was refreshing and well-balanced--definitely a highlight. My partner had a cider, which leaned more beer-forward than expected but was fine. Food came out quickly. My partner ordered the Chicken Chesapeake sandwich, but omitted the lump crab dip and bacon, which likely took away from the flavor. Even he admitted the fries were the star--crispy, perfectly seasoned with sea salt and Old Bay, and not overdone. He requested honey mustard, which was house-made but leaned more Dijon-style. I ordered the viral drunken cheeseburger, which was good but didn't live up to the hype for me. It needed to come out sizzling, and the cheese sauce lacked the richness I was expecting. The burger itself was solid but fairly plain--more cookout-style than standout. Total bill was $57.45. Apple Pay is accepted, though you walk with your server to the kiosk to complete payment. Would I return? Yes--especially if I'm already in the area. The service alone makes it worth it, and I'd like to try other menu items (the vegan crab cakes caught my eye). They also offer a variety of options and weekday specials, which is a plus. We noticed the lakefront on our way out, and I can imagine it being a great vibe during warmer months. Overall, a stylish spot with excellent service and solid food--just don't come expecting the best burger you've ever had.

After having a less than ideal first experience here six months ago, we gave it another shot. We sat at the bar for this meal. The service was an A+. The bartender was very attentive, spent time explaining the menu and giving suggestions. We ended up having apps and drinks. The smoked salmon deviled eggs were outstanding. The rest of the food was just ok. The sangria was very good. There's plenty of parking and the restaurant is beautifully decorated and it overlooks the lake. I can see this being a great date night restaurant if the food was more impressive.

We stumbled upon this place since the other two restaurants we tried were both closed. I haven't been to the Columbia lake area in so long and today was a nice day to walk around. We didn't have reservations and there wasn't a hostess so we waited to check out the restaurant. I definitely noticed a nautical theme. The hostess came and I can't say she was welcoming and she wasn't rude either. We asked for a view of the water and we were sat at a table with a view of the lake. I can't remember our server's name but she was very good in describing the menu. She gave us the soup and dish of the day. We ordered the prime rib chili to share and I ordered the pumpkin pancakes with bacon. My significant other ordered the turkey club. The food was delicious and we both enjoyed the chili. The only picture I took was the chili.

Our group of 13 had a great first visit to The Collective Offshore, now in the space where Clyde's used to be. The setting by Lake Kittamaquandi is lovely, and the coastal-inspired décor feels bright and welcoming. Our server was fantastic and handled separate checks with ease. A special shout-out to the chef, who went above and beyond to accommodate one of our friends with multiple food allergies--he even met her personally to ensure her meal was safe. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. My crab cake entrée was excellent--mostly lump crab with minimal filler--and the sauces and sides were well thought out. The seasonal Pumpkin Pie Bread Pudding was a delicious finish! Prices are on the higher side, but the food, service, and atmosphere make it worth it. I'd definitely return for a date night or special occasion.

My birthday fell on a weeknight, so by husband planned a family meal for dinner on a Friday night. This meant that we were able to enjoy live music as we decided to order. The hostess quickly checked us in and sat us. The waitress was INCREDIBLY patient as we kept getting caught up in conversation before looking at the menu. It was the first time for 3 out of five of us and we were feeling adventurous. We ordered two appetizers: calamari and a crab pretzel. For of us dinner on entrees while my mom, who has seafood allergies, selected two vegetable appetizers as her meal. My husband brought outside baked goods and the waitress was kind about it. She even surprised me with a complimentary slice of Tres Leches for my birthday week. Yay!

The collective offshore is in Columbia's most prime location. Lake front, nice outdoor shaded seating, and a front row spot to all the summer concerts. They had big shoes to fill taking over the spot. With that, my review is mixed. The food was great! The appetizers were probably my favorite and I wanted to try all of them. I ordered off the restaurant week menu, so it was not items off the normal menu. Others at my table ordered off the regular menu. Both options were great. The andouille meatball appetizer was heavy, but very creative flavors and well cooked. The downfall was the wait. After we got our appetizers, we waited about an hour for our dinner. The manager came to apologize twice for how long it took. Not to mention we had hangry kids at that point and we just wanted their pasta. Once the food came it was really good and probably worth waiting for, but then you'd think they'd bring out the dessert that was pre ordered with the restaurant week menu right away, but that still took another 30ish minutes. Once again, when it came, it was stupid good. The other pitfalls that need some fixing, they did not have a printed kids menu. I feel like that sends a message to parents and their options were only a burger, chicken tender, or pasta. All with fruit. I get that it's a nicer restaurant, but kids can be fancy too. In addition to that, the food was delicious, but it is pricy. I feel like going back, I'd have to have a coupon or a happy hour to make me feel like I'm getting a deal.

I selected this by-the-water restaurant in Columbia to celebrate a very special family member's birthday and it was a win-win for all! The staff at Offshore were so very attentive, vibrant, lively, and patient for this party of 18, kids included! Not all food is pictured (but my belly has vivid images ). The Bronzino was cooked to perfection - lightly crispy on the outside and soft and buttery with every bite. Rice Pilaf is always a risk for me and I was not disappointed one bit! The green beans maintained a crisp only a fine chef could time, so kudos! The lump crab cake dish was a 10 across the board. Also not pictured are the lamb chops, but DO order these, it's pretty mandatory. If you're looking for an ambiance that gives sailor, literally offshore, seafood forward, go for it!

    Offshore Breakfast with Turkey Sausage

Had an impromptu brunch with my girlfriends here last Sunday. It was a nice 70 degree day so a casual brunch with a view of Lake Kittamaqundi was a great way to start the new week. I was torn between the brunch buffet which had a great selection but because we were at the tale end of brunch time, I opted for something cooked hot on the spot. Best decision I made was by ordering the Crab Cake Melt! I thoroughly enjoyed every drop of the large crab cake on a brioche bun with bacon, tomato and hollandaise sauce. Instead of the breakfast potatoes, I substituted for chipotle ranch fries. They tasted like regular fries but with a splash of ranch and old bay seasoning. My girlfriends both ordered the Offshore Breakfast. One opted for Turkey sausage while the other had bacon. We all ate our plates so I would assume theirs was good as well. Now the mimosas we ordered were great in taste but less in size (half a glass). I would 100% return because there are other items I would like to try on both the brunch and dinner menu, as well as other cocktails we saw come out to other tables. Offshore is a great place for a scenic brunch and walk around the lake but also nice for a romantic date night. The bar is nostalgic due its reminder of Clydes but the new, bright look and charm that they've put into this place makes it a gem. I saw at the end of my brunch experience that they have a lovely private room where a bridal shower was being held. Can't wait to return!

I'm still mad it's not Clyde's anymore. But after getting over that, this place has a great menu and atmosphere! There's 20 seats at the bar! They have a happy hour menu and special Tuesday menu! The Maryland Crab Chowder (I'd call it Maryland crab soup) is super wonderful with lots of lump crabmeat on top.

The food is consistently exceptional, the drinks are always on point, and the atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between lively and welcoming. Whenever friends or family visit from out of town, this is my go-to spot because I know they'll leave impressed. Most recently, I visited for brunch on Saturday and ordered the short rib gnocchi. It was absolutely delicious... rich, flavorful, and incredibly filling. I paired it with the bubbles flight, which featured an assortment of four sparkling wines and was the perfect complement to the meal. Every visit reminds me why I keep coming back. The truffle popcorn was excellent, our child enjoyed the shrimp and fries, and the fresh tuna appetizer was flavorful, although overly sauced. Unfortunately, the scallops with risotto were unacceptable. Both entrees had a strong ammonia-like taste from the first bite, which was immediately noticeable to both of us. We were unable to get much attention from our server due to how busy the restaurant was, but the dishes were left mostly untouched for a reason. For a $40 entrée, we expected much better quality and execution. Sadly, The Food Market did not deliver.

I wanted to try something new from the Collection blog written by fellow Elite member Kendall. There was a Juneteenth celebration happening in the area of the restaurant so parking was tight . But when you have a sugar daddy , premier handicap parking is always available This restaurant is located inside the Merriweather Lakefront Hotel. There is a parking garage directly across the street for you regular ppl. Anyways ... this location is kind of in a cul-de-sac. So the Juneteenth celebration made a lot of foot traffic traveling from Whole Foods to the parking garage. This is a great place to have a staycation. The entrance is beautiful and once you enter , you see the nostalgic concert posters and music related artwork . The bathroom was clean . The hosts were attentive and polite. Madison , a beautiful blonde , greeted us and gave us the option to sit outside or inside. I chose outside so we could have a view of the lake. Madison cleaned the 6 seat table I wanted . Seats were comfy btw. A little dirty from crumbs for an upscale restaurant. It was the perfect day to sit outside. Ppl would look up from the trail, pointing, and wondering what restaurant we were eating at. The bugs were minimal. Brendan was our server. Yall This place is so dang on PEACEFUL. My date and I sat and chatted for 4 hours. Truly a great first date. The servers did not rush us out at closing time. I think that the hotel allows the guests to sit outside after hours because we did not leave until 11pm. We ordered several drinks of Bonanza ( RED NAPA VALLEY WINE) Despite the beautiful time we had , I gave this place 3 stars because my dang on plate was lukewarm. We didn't come here to be cheap . A lukewarm plate of short rib and chicken Milano is deplorable. I mean, as a server if you don't see the steam coming off the plate why would you bring it out ? We did not order appetizers. I didn't complain because I didn't want to be "bitchy" but they brought my food before they brought my drinks. That really confused me. Cold food ? Late glasses of wine ? I'm not sure what was going on inside. I would go back . But I will speak up next time because this is considered UPSCALE. No pictures. My IPHONE was full and I decided to live in the moment.

The menu offers a nice balance between curated bowls and build-your-own options, and everything on display looked vibrant and genuinely fresh. Even the subtle aroma of garlic in the air set the tone in the best way. I don't usually go for chicken (I cook enough of it at home), but being from Hawaii, there was no way I was passing up on their limited-time Huli Huli chicken. For those unfamiliar, traditional Huli Huli chicken is typically bone-in, skin-on, soaked in a brine, marinated with a blend of soy sauce, ginger, brown sugar, garlic, and pineapple juice maybe rice vinegar or ketchup, it's all left to the cook. Basted several times as the meat is flipped until fully cooked. Back home, you don't just eat it--you experience it. You smell it long before you see it--grilling on those iconic half oil drum kettles along the roadside, often set up for fundraisers or local gatherings. The sight of chicken quarters being flipped ("huli" means "turn") and basted over open flames is pure island nostalgia. So yes, expectations were high. I was offered a sample, and it delivered. The flavor balance was spot on--savory, slightly sweet, and deeply satisfying. The chicken itself was moist and tender. The only thing missing was that classic crispy, charred skin and the full leg quarter presentation you'd find back home--but even so, it didn't disappoint and left me wanting more. My bowl came together beautifully with coconut sweet potato sauce, fresh spinach, garlicky cilantro green beans, and basmati rice. It was flavorful, well-balanced, and delicious. Service was another highlight--the staff was friendly, patient and helpful with recommendations. The space itself is not large to eat in but it was clean, bright with ocean-toned blues that nod to its island inspiration. I'll definitely be back--especially while that Huli Huli chicken is still on the menu.
