Firstly, the cake ordered a week in advance was not ready for pick up at the appointed time, and they claimed that they had no receipt for my order, but I of course had my receipt. Secondly, they decorated a red velvet cake that happened to be available and covered it with a bunch of whipped cream, but I asked for cream cheese icing. Third, it was delivered 4 and 1/2 hours late. The birthday person turned 90 and by the time the cake arrived all guest had left the venue. We asked for a refund, and we were given the owners phone number (Richard), but when we called, he was rude dismissive, disrespectful, unprofessional, told me not to call his phone, and hung up the phone in mid conversation. I decided to go and speak to him in person When I got there, there were not customers, and of course they said he (Richard) just left, how convenient? I asked to speak with a manager, I explained to the manager what took place, he then proceeded to explain why he would not give me the refund. They get 4 stars just for having patties at 6 pm!! Nobody else have patties not like noon and definitely not after 3 pm. So I was pleasantly surprised to see patties in abundance so late in the day. Dough was a little hard but still flaky and good. The filling was traditional and could have been fuller but was tasty. I ate my two and the kids liked the curry chicken and the jerk chicken. Had their bun and cheese and the cheese was on point. The bun was good but could definitely use more fruit and raisins. But I enjoyed my bun and cheese... was a good late night snack. Also had a small oxtail with rice and peas. The rice was really good and the gravy absolutely the way it should be. The oxtail could have been more than the tip of the tail and could have been larger and meatier. I did get the 'small' size but i thought that meant the size of the portion and not the size of the meat. Definitely not service with a smile but they probably too busy to smile but you also don't really need to smile as long as you efficient...and they were. Typical take out place with many buffet type options and long line. It is best to know what you want before you get to the server/cashier. I ordered a large oxtail with rice and peas. I specifically asked the lady for Mac and cheese on the side & a large pineapple & ginger , however I did not receive the Mac and cheese. When I did not get my receipt because she snatched the receipt up and threw it in the garbage... When I spoke to the lady over the phone after I left I told her I didn't receive the Mac and cheese and she told me I was not charged for the Mac and cheese which was $32.40 but I just checked my bank statement and I was charged for the Mac and cheese... The food is always great but yall need to listen to customers when they ask for stuff instead of joking around with your friends before the counter. In only tried the Pattie's here . Would have been nice to actually have some more chunks of chicken in the Pattie's instead of grounded up or away that's how it tasted. But The texture of the crust was really good and moist while being just a bit flaky . The prices were good and customer service as well. Okay folks this may be my new go to lunch spot from now on, if you have a chance and you've just gotten out of the airport or work around the area make your way here at least once they're definitely one of the better options around the area for a medley of reasons. First a coherent readable menu, and a nice approachable store front for a non-large chain franchise is a god send around here, alot of the smaller restaurants around the area are pretty run down and sketchy looking with no visible menu anywhere, although at times thats where the best food is battling with all the ambiguity is the last thing I want to do when coming in for a quick meal to take out. I catered my anniversary. Very simple large pan of jerk wings. I asked for them to be CUT they were not! Large white rice and large rice and peas. The food was tasty! The customer service was atrocious. I called a total of 15 times. Some times my call was put on hold, others sent to voice mail, sometimes not even answered. When it was answered it took them 2 days to FIND my on line order. I had to keep calling to check on receipt of my order. Every one seemed confused! Ohhhh my event was July 23. I paid on line July 18. When arrived for a 1:30 pick up at 2:15 they were still packing up the food. I waited outside for 15 min. After reminding the girl that I was waiting she asked me to come in. I waited another 15 min for them to find a box for the food. No one said , I'm sorry for the delay, is there anything I could get you for the inconvenience , thanks for choosing us... NOTHING!!!!! I visited this place since I really enjoy Jamaican food and it was right off the highway. The restaurant has a few parking spots in front but I think street parking might be best. The restaurant is more of a to go place, they really only offer four counter seats since the restaurant is small. With that said, I really enjoyed my meal here, and I can't wait to go back and try some of their other dishes. Yum Yum Yum. The food: Curry Goat- I went with this dish since I always think curry goat and Jamaican food and oh my Jesus was this good. The goat was so tender and I really enjoyed the texture of the meat, I also really loved the pronounced flavor of the curry, they did not skimp on the spices. Beware, there is a good amount of little bone pieces in the curry so take a thorough look to make sure you don't accidentally crunch on some bone. The rice and peas were cooked really well, it was fluffy, soft and flavorful and I really enjoyed the kidney beans. The side of the veg was good, I was expecting the veg to be overcooked but it was cooked well with a nice crunch and a good natural sweetness from the cabbage. Beef Patty- I am such a sucker for beef patties and the ones here were made in house and delicious. I really enjoyed the dough, it was nice and flaky with a really nice mouthfeel. At first I was unable to find the place on Yelp, so I took an excess of photos for the listing. We went inside and the food looked pretty decent, so we ordered jerk chicken and oxtail (both with rice & peas and cabbage). They also had a few fresh made juices (carrot, pineapple ginger, tropical punch) and being curious, hungry and thirsty, we got all 3. The oxtail were well seasoned and tender, jerk chicken had a nice balance of spicy/savory/sweet, the rice was "shelly" and the cabbage was average. The food wasn't super hot, but it was warm. This place is amazing! We ordered delivery for them and their food + flavors are absolutely worth it. We ordered two mega sized meals: oxtail and jerk chicken. They're both really delicious and worth upgrading too -- they give so much meat for both! Though the oxtail is more expensive, it is better than the jerk chicken in terms of tenderness and flavor, but the jerk chicken is better value and gives you more meat if you're hungry. So you know what, just point here and there, and pay just to get over with. About to pay, it came up to $60+ for 12 patties, 1 meal with meat rice and veggie, then another same meal with extra oxtail on the side. Hmmmm. Not happy at all for this transaction. Know what, I am a very nice customer, but this lady don't deserve a tip. The only time she smiled was when I was paying. Lol. But no, I can't tip for that kind of service. I have ordered from Jamaican Flavors through Uber Eats two or three times trying different menu items. They have the best beef patties hands down!! These are not the frozen mushy meat kind you buy in the freezer aisle in the grocery store. When you bite into the flaky crust warm, spicy real ground beef welcomes your taste buds. Accompanying them are the chopped onions and bell peppers that are actually visible to the eye! Simply amazingly. I would also recommend their curry chicken patties as well! Mmm mmm mmm. I stopped by this place on my way home from work for the first time and decided to try the food out. I am not that familiar with all jamaican dishes and wasnt sure what some of the dishes were (there were no visual labels). I placed an order and there was this one younger girl who was so damn rude and nasty. She was yelling at the customer because the customer was not sure what type of chicken was served to her (bone in vs. Boneless). Just the fact that business fail to invest in customer service training for their rude staff is the mere example of why customers have to deal with these people who ironically pays their salary! The manager needs to fire somenof these rude workers or send them to get some customer training before they have to close up shop due to slow business. We were desperate to find some Jamaican food and this was literally the only place open after 2 AM. Actually this location of Jamaican Flavors is 24 hours which sounds convenient. It is also located across the street from JFK Airport, which is very good if you're craving Jamaican food before your flight. The first thing that turned me off is that you have to order behind a glass after a certain time. I understand that safety is very important, but I was hoping I could go inside seeing that it is winter and extremely COLD!
