Decided to check out Jamie's because I've had hot roast beef sandwiches all over the North Shore and wanted to see how they measure up to the competition. I can honestly say that the beef is as good (if not better) than most of the places I've been to! When I went I decided to try something different, most places go with the usual 3-way beef option, but Jamie's has decided to put their own creative spin on the hot roast beef sandwich. I got the Boursin, which was OUTSTANDING! My only criticism was that there was so much beef in it, that the bread was unable to hold it once I started eating it. Other than that, I also got the truffle fries which did not even make it home because I finished them all in the car. Everything tasted incredible. I just got a chicken Kabob sub from Jamie's yesterday.What a complete disappointment!! Instead of kabob. I got shredded chicken that was dry. So I start looking for the feta cheese, if there were 15 pieces of feta crumbs, I'd be shocked. It was almost non existant. The tomatoes, I think had 5 small chopped tomatoes. But there was tons of lettuce. It wasn't a Greek dressing either, it was kind of sweet. Vinagrette maybe. I have eaten at Jamie's a few times. This might be the last! It was awful! I called and asked if they take constructive criticism. The woman said yes. I told her there were no kabobs on my kabob sub. It was dry shredded chicken with not much feta. She said she was sorry and said that's how we make it. Sorry about the feta. How do call a kabob sub without kabobs? So disappointed!! read more

Braved the elements yesterday and checked out Jamies Roast Beef...the 3 way beef was cooked to perfection! Onion rings had unique flavor was different but the more I ate the more I liked it!....Only issue was I should of got two 3ways,the 1st one was so good!....My new go to beef place...I ll be back! read more

Got a Regular roast beaf sandwich on an onion roll with swiss, onions, and mayonnaise. Roll was perfectly buttered and the roast beef was rare, exactly how I like it. I used to be a repeat and regular customer. But i found out you can't even make a grilled cheese sandwich. You literally have all the ingredients. You can ring something up close to the price and modify it to be a grilled cheese. My daughter always asks to go here because she loves they way you do her grilled cheese's. Just because the actual roast beef is good doesn't mean this place is good. So disappointed. Got 3 way roast beef's and they had nothing but cheese on them, a dry gross sandwich. Also got mozzarella sticks and honestly the health department should pay them a visit! They were dried out and cold as if they sat there for days, absolutely disgusting. Hype is hype, beef is super competitive on the north shore. That said this place meets or exceeds all the levels of what a guy / gal wants from beef place. Quality of the meat A plus, portions A++, sauce it should be noted i went 3 way, which i rarely do only because of all the pics i had seen on social media A okay as well. This Super Beef was the largest portion i have ever been served. I can't remember the cost but i believe the super was over $10, I don't believe a sandwich should ever cost over $10 with tax but maybe because i'm old or maybe because i know frescos has it for $7.50 and Billy's $8.95 i can not find the price for their super roast beef anywhere on the menu. I have ordered a few times and each time the customer service is amazing!!! This last time we ordered the young lady taking our order was spectacular, she took our order, which included a special order and was very polite and courteous. When I arrived to pick up my order the staff was extremely friendly and made me feel very welcome. I received my order and when I got it home it was delicious, hot and couldn't have been any better. Chef Matt and his team are running a fairly new business but this will definitely be my go to place fir our beefs and pizzas, the French fries and onion rings are also so delicious, the three way beef and Boursin beef are two of my favorites. If you love North Shore-style roast beef, this is the place to go. Full disclosure - I have only tried two things - Roast Beef sub with sauce (JR, of course) and onion rings both times there. The sub is essentially made with the same care as their sandwiches. The sub roll was toasted perfectly just like a sandwich roll. Plenty of yummy rare roast beef and a healthy helping of James River sauce. To me, this is just easier to eat than a sandwich. But you will probably still use a fork and lots of napkins. Onion rings were great too. Thick "beer-battered" style and a large was plenty for 2. Not sure if made in house or not, but delicious in any event. Nothing worse than finishing rings and wishing you had a few more. Didn't happen here. Service was speedy and prices are in line with other local shops. But the quality of the food and care of preparation are a step above the "usual". read more

It's not every roast beef place that does a three-way right and keeps a copy of James Peterson's Sauces in the pass... give this place a shot and you won't be sorry. Yes, their regular 3-way is excellent and sometimes perfect, but don't sleep on their other sauces. The bearnaise aioli, cajun aioli, truffle aioli, and garlic aioli are no joke and set off the rare beef perfectly. Always a nice grilled crispy bun. Always cheese on the bottom. Always a good stack. Usually nice and warm but sometimes could be warmer... honestly the only flaw in a place that slings some of the best sandwiches I've had anywhere. If you're not in the mood for beef their chicken sandwiches also off the chain, the chef puts out specials like pizza rolls and roast beef spring rolls au jus, and their fries are excellent. I was disappointed as I prefer a roast beef sandwich to be warm. Very messy to eat. Nevertheless, enjoyable. HOWEVER, my fellow diner ordered a fried chicken sandwich. It was AWFUL. I just went here for the 2nd time today and I spent a little over 70 dollars. They forgot the spicy fries in my order. ordered a roast beef sub which was good and a sorry jr that I did not care for. If you spend 70 dollars at a roast beef place, there is ZERO JUSTIFICATION for them forgetting part of your order when they should have checked to make sure they put everything I ordered in the bag. Ordered pizza from Jamie's again and we were terribly disappointed. To start, the pizza was wrong... ordered kalamata olives and I got onions. I didn't notice till I got home and I despise onions. HUGE bummer. Pizza was probably also the greasiest pizza I have ever eaten...This isn't the first time I've had gross greasy pizza from here either, any time I get a meat besides prosciutto or if I get pineapple the pizza is horrible (see previous review where I mention it). Additionally, we really like their Buffalo fingers but the servings are enormous and they do not come with blue cheese unless you specifically ask... learned that one the hard way. Like I said, these servings are really big so a large is about 5 full chicken breasts and even if you specifically ask for the blue cheese they'll only give you one small container of it. luckily this wasn't the first time I've ordered from here so we will try again at some point but not anytime soon... too many good places around to be so inconsistent. read more

I am a total Beef snob, and this place is top-3 in MA easily, and definitely #1 in the area. The flavor of Beef is unique and delicious (it was a bit overpowered when they opened, but has been corrected). The bun is always grilled to buttery perfection. The sauce-to-mayo ratio is on point. I've been downing 3 way super beefs since the late 90s and definitely a once a week tradition that I hold dear to my stomach. This is by far # 1 no question asked. We had a standard 3 way and the sorry Jr. the beef melted in my mouth. Almost 90% rare all the way through which in itself is a tough task. The bread had a great buttery crunch and the portion was generous. Everyone inside is super nice and the service and speed is amazing. My wife and I enjoy watching the Phantom Gourmet and then like to visit the locations they have highlighted to see if it stacks up to what they had to say. Jamie's made the grade for sure. First of all, the lovely lady that took our order was friendly and courteous. The business was clean and well kept. Have had 4 visits to this beefery since moving to a Peabody in September 2020. Very first beef was impressive, which had the Boursin cheese spread. Great flavor profile on that beef. Tried the bearnaise and wasn't crazy about it. And then went classic with a 3 way and wasn't crazy about it. Phone service could be friendlier. Was greeted by a not so pleasant younger lady on the phone I think on 2 separate occasions. I think the ideas for signature beefs are a great concept. And even delicious. But your basics are lacking. wasn't crazy about the French fries. Think I got the truffle fries? I'm not a fry guy by any means but they were on the strong cooking oil taste side.
