Last night my husband and I had the distinct pleasure of attending the soft opening of Jamison's formal dining area. We were blown away. My steak was cooked to perfection. They offered outstanding drink and beer selections. The waitstaff was attentive. The atmosphere was GORGEOUS, offering comfy seating, ample space between tables, two built-in fireplaces and the most beautiful chandeliers I've ever seen. I would recommend Jamison's any day of the week for a date night, family gathering, small event, etc. We dine out frequently and look forward to visiting Jamison's again in the near future. read more

Everything was a miss from the start. My friend ordered the duck which was listed on the menu, I ordered the salmon that was listed on the menu. Once we ordered, the bartender told us that the menu changed and the duck she ordered was no longer available (why weren't we told the menu had changed?) and they had a duck special which she agreed to. I wasn't told of any changes to my salmon. When our food came out, the runner tried to figure out who the order was for, stopping at 3 different groups of people. We realized that it was ours, but her duck was delivered as Sheppard's pie, and my salmon was not as written on the menu. The bartender blamed the kitchen staff, and the computer, which we noticed to be a common theme, she didn't take ownership for any of her mistakes. While the runner took the Sheppard's pie away, he left my dish. The bartender came over and once again blamed someone for her error. My gripe here is: why did you leave my dish, knowing it was going to be 20+ minutes before her dish was made correctly? Why didn't you put it under a warmer? My plate sat there, waiting for hers to arrive so we could eat. While waiting, I did ask the bartender why there was rice, and not fingerling potatoes, as listed on the menu. She blamed it on the menu being changed, again, not taking ownership for being unaware, and offered me a side of potatoes. About 25 minutes later she said my potatoes should be out any minute. 12 hours later and I'm STILL waiting for those potatoes. Once her meal arrived we ate together. My salmon was cold, the veggies were cold. It was very underwhelming overall. This is my advice, if your menu changes, make sure your staff is aware of those changes and provide a menu with the updates, not an out of date menu. Also, take ownership for your errors, blaming the kitchen makes them look bad for no reason. Also, there were always at minimum 5 workers standing around outside of the kitchen doing nothing the entire time we were there, why not provide some training to those employees if you're that over staffed? This was a one and done for us. read more

Long awaited renovation of the former Village Square delivers with a nice pub style atmosphere that includes fine dining options as well. Boasting a very large rectangular bar, high tops and tables, it offers plenty of seating options. There are plenty of TV's for the sports enthusiasts...perhaps a few could be tuned to news stations? There is a large selection of beer on tap, selection of wines and full bar plus everything from burgers and sandwiches, variety of salads, flatbreads and brick oven pizza to an interesting offering of main courses with a twist. Conveniently located on Rte. 111 with plenty of parking, my only suggestion would be to work on the noisy atmosphere and dim the somewhat bright lighting to make the place a little bit more cozy. With a few tweaks, this good start should be a long running great addition to Hampstead! read more

Decided to give Jamersons another try . We sat in the upstairs bar so that we would be able to choose from the dining room & bar menu. The food was ok, not great but not bad either. There is no bar tender at the upstairs bar. The area was relatively empty. The service was awful. We got our salads after sitting in this empty area after 20 minutes. Asked for bread, it never came. Within 3 minutes of getting the salad the meals arrived. The waitress came back 20 minutes later and still no bread. The next time we saw her she had our check. Seems there is a lack of staff. The waitress was waiting on guests in the dining room, downstairs bar and upstairs bar. Since it's a sports bar you'd think that on nights there are games in the schedule more staff, nope! Tonight my parents ordered takeout from Jamisons. First off, my dad ordered jamisons glaze chicken wings. He got buffalo tenders instead. Then they both ordered dinner entree special bistro filet medium. My mom got her dish. And my dad got steak tips which are NOT what he ordered. He ordered the same bistro filet entree as my mom. And my mom ordered her meal medium, and she got rare. So my dads wings were wrong and his entree was completely wrong. And my moms filet was rare, not medium. My moms meal also looked NOTHING like the picture online, i attached pictures below. She got 3 pieces of broccoli, a small piece of filet, and a cup of mac n cheese. Very unorganized. My mom is very specific on how her meat is cooked so it ruined her meal. read more

We chose Jamisons banquet room for a surprise 40th birthday this weekend and it did not disappoint. Lou, Lisa, David and all of the staff at Jamisons were great to deal with. We ordered the Italian dinner, oyster bar and antipasto and it was nothing short of amazing. I want to personally thank Shannon for recognizing the error that was made & thank her for all her efforts. I feel that restaurants have to meet the demands of its patrons on a day to day hour to hour basis which is difficult enough. Food is good but pricey. Offer gluten free but our last experience was tough as our daughter was given food with bread on it and she has a severe wheat allergy. We let our server know but she was an inexperienced teenager. read more

My wife and I went here to try it. We were looking forward to it based on recommendations from friends. We sat in the dining room. We might give it another shot in the lounge off the pub menu, but we definitely won't order off the dining room menu again. The best part of the meal were the drinks, albeit for $11 per drink. I ordered the sirloin and my wife ordered salmon. A while after ordering we had to ask the waitress for some bread, which didn't come until after our meals arrived. I asked for my sirloin medium, but what came was well done. I'm not usually someone who sends food back, but for a $30 steak I expected it to be cooked better, so i sent it back. When it came back it was still a bit overdone, but at that point I was starving after watching my wife finish off her dinner. Nobody even came back to check if it was ok. The steak had little to no seasoning on it and it was missing the glaze that was supposed to be on it. I ended up seasoning it myself with some salt and pepper. The broccoli that came with it was completely unseasoned as well. My wife's salmon had little to no seasoning on it either. The asparagus that came with her salmon didn't have the ends cut off either, so they were "woody". read more

The best Fisherman's platter I have had in a long time. Excellent quality, and generous portions. Wish they could make a good gin martini though. The bar tender knows the trick of a watered down martini. Fill the shaker full of crushed ice, shake it well, and let it set while you make a couple of other drinks. Customers aren't stupid. Wish they'd get over the refusal to allow ordering from either menu. I don't find it relaxing to have to make a decision of where to eat, by having to study two menus before we get on the road. I've been before and really enjoyed my experience but not tonight. The quality was not what it has been in the past. It seemed like they were dragging their feet with us. It took forever for someone to take our order we were done with apps before someone even took our dinner order. There were fruit flies everywhere and we didn't want to bring the left overs home because of the flies landing on our food. We did have 5 kids with us, we were seated in the tavern up on the stage so we were away from everyone. We were finishing our dessert and drinks when we saw someone in plain clothes tell the waiters to bus our table ASAP. We suddenly had 4-5 waiters clearing out table while we were finishing dessert and our after dinner drinks. They told us they were told to clear us out because there was a line outside and it was only 5:30pm. We were there for 1.5 hours and spent 600 dollars and would have spent more if they didn't start bussing our dessert and drinks from us. I can't believe they rushed us out knowing how high our tab was when every other table was 2-4 people. Also the caesar salad sucked. read more

Food here is just average. Very undercooked bacon on my sandwich, almost raw. Noticed the person next to me also pulled the bacon off his sandwich because it wasn't cooked. Can't believe the kitchen would actually send this out. Fries are handcut which is a positive but they need to change the oil. They were extremely greasy. We met friends here ho we hadn't seen in months and had reservation for the dinning room. We were seated quickly even with the busy front desk and people waiting. We loved the changes from the former restaurant that had been here for years, very chic. We were seated next to one of the faux fireplaces and across from two large tables of a gathering having some sort of birthday or baby shower. They were the problem in allowing 2 little girls who were not being watched by their parents who were at these tables to totally disrupt our beautiful evening. The little girls were crawling around and under our table, jumping off the fireplace next to us and were gifted with Barbie type dolls which they started banging on the fireplace glass. I asked the waitress to talk to the parents and we were told it was a friend of the owner and they were not put into the function room so they could save money! This is not McDonalds and these 2 girls were very disruptive to our dinner and others in the room. We finally asked the waitress to move us as we could see nothing was being done to change the situation, and we moved over 1 table to the other fireplace. Well, of course the girls followed us and one ducked down under my husbands chair and was trying to take his phone off the table! We were approached by one of the fathers who was holding a very small baby in his arms and was very apologetic. The other parents seemed to glare at us as if this was okay for their daughter to use this place as her romper room. The food was very good and the service was great but too bad these unattended children were left to run a muck and nothing was done. After dinner we paid the full bill and moved to the bar area at the other side of the dining room and chatting with the barmaid we told her about the ruckus we just endured during our meal. We didn't realize she went and spoke to the manager, he come over and apologized and comped our 1 round of drinks we had just ordered. Nothing was taken off the $200+ dinning bill we just closed out and if it had not been for the live music we were staying for this would be a very different review. The manager was very sorry and even got us seats up front near the dance floor and we ended up staying until closing. With that function going on in the dining room I hope the owner learns a lesson and places large loud parties with small unwatched children in the function room. This happened Friday February 8th and I am still in awe at the lack of parental supervision in a crowed restaurant. read more

I had the pleasure of ordering take out from here I got their steak tips WOWOWOW they were out of this world served with smashed potatoes(could use more butter and some cream ) they were lumpy too but thats ok the asparagus made up for it. I highly recommend the tips and they were Quite generous. As for the speed for which the food came out well that explains why my food was cold I ordered a side of the coleslaw $4 I was quite disappointed for the price they charged I honestly did not get more than a fork full they served it in one of the tiny to go containers that one would put a tablespoon of Mayo in. I happen to like a good slaw with my tips and mashed potatoes. I'm lucky my tips came with the asparagus. I have nooo problem paying good money for delicious food. I left the young lady at the register who took my order a decent tip even tho it took over an hour for my ONE order to be prepared. Yet like I said it was cold when I check on it in the car before leaving. I will be going back to try the "fried chicken sandwich" that the employees at the register kept raving over and I'd like to try their brick oven pizza. I give it a 5 star for the delicious taste of the tips & asparagus and 2.5 stars for quality of service extremely slow and cold food (tells me it sat out back in kitchen being ignored)& extremely small portion of a side priced way too high. read more
