I would give this place 4 stars but I deducted 1 star for the poor selection of donuts when u get there after 10am. It seems they don't make as many donuts as Donut Star. The strawberry cronut is pretty good. You can wolf it down fairly quickly :) One thing though, my lady didn't feel too well after eatting the donuts twice she went there. Honestly I do not buy donuts that often. Jannys Donuts is just around the corner from where i work so i went in one day and these are really tasty donuts! The quality and consistency of the donuts is very good. The twists and bars are large, the bear claws are delicious, and i could go on about the others as well. They also sell breakfast croissants that are pretty good, the chorizo w/egg is awesome. I think the donuts are pricey, but again, i think everthings gone up in price. But i would gladly pay a little more for something that i know will always be up there in quality and taste. Sometimes i get our early from work, 3:30 am (i work nights) and they still gladly are willing to serve customers at that time, which is half and hour before official opening time. Simply a mouthwatering experience even before sinking our teeths into their beautifully looking case full of everything a kid with a massive sweeth tooth can ever dream of....(run-on, I know). Both wife and I, had a Cronut each, hers- strawberry Nutella filled and mines- chocolate with custard and whip filled. Very, Very good!!! Their tiger tails come in two varieties, cinnamon and chocolate, both excellent, and their cronuts are amazing! One thing that I love is they have several pre-made cronuts with toppings but without filling, and they fill on demand. What's cool about this is that, for example, you could get the typical apple cronut whose topping I love, but filled with something else (or not filled at all) which is perfect for me since I'm not a big fan of apple filling :) Only a few caveats, the first of which is that their hours could be longer (but they are in somewhat of a business area so it's kind of understandable, however diagonal across from The District so maybe not as understandable?), toward the end of the day their selection wanes and they really, REALLY need a peanut butter filling!! It's a bit of a crime that their delicious cronuts will never be on the receiving end of a sweet, sticky burst of peanut butter bliss :( read more

I wanted to surprise my bf with some donuts today and decided to try out Jannys Donuts. I'm glad I did. I got two chocolate cake donuts, one maple bacon cronut, and one apple cinnamon cronut. When I got to the car I noticed the employee had given me some free donut holes, which was very nice of her. The donut holes were very light and airy and the maple bacon cronut was delicious! The bacon was cooked nicely and the saltiness went well with the sweetness of the maple frosting. The chocolate cake donuts were good but weren't my favorite. The decor, the signage, and the facility in general looks up-to-date and well kept. There are two aging men talking healthcare as I sit and enjoy my ham, egg and cheese croissant. Very good, fluffy doughnuts. The owner (I think she was the owner), was very friendly. I left with a box of assorted doughnuts. They were all packaged neatly in a pink baker's box. This definitely satisfies my donut cravings...I'm usually a krispy kreme type of girl...but these definitely are much better. They are reasonability priced and they are huge!!! And my 2 year old loves the minis (he normally doesn't like anything too sweet). And the good thing is, it's more than just donuts (Croissants, Cronuts, and coffee).
