I usually trek to Tasty Thai in New Castle, which is delicious. But I decided to try Jasmine as I had a hankering for Pad Thai and didn't want to drive as far. I also ordered Thai Ice Tea. Both the food and the tea were only ok. The tea wasn't as sweet as I am used to and there wasn't anything special about the chicken Pad Thai was ok but nothing special. I've read that the service here was poor but I thought it was decent. So, all in all, nothing special about this place. If I had more time I would have driven to Tasty Thai, which never disappoints! read more

Take two on sushi in Wilmington and certainly a step up from Takumi down the road. Nice and friendly service but the food is what won me over. The tempura shrimp roll was nice, except for the gigantic leaf of lettuce sticking out... Making the roll hard to eat without falling apart, but very tasty nonetheless. What won the night was the New Orleans roll, crawfish, spicy tuna and crab with wasabi mayo and some smokey notes - delicious. The rice was excellent, the ginger fresh and full of flavour. The wasabi sub par, more of that green paste that seems ubiquitous around here. The only soy sauce offered was low sodium, a healthier choice but one I like to make for myself. The house Sauvignon blank, although not cheap was another great surprise, with a very complex palate of tropical fruits, melon and citrus. Quite lovely. I should have known better and left good enough alone but I ordered desert. Forget the chocolate and walnut cake or whatever it is - pure fat and sugar don't make for tasty desert. On the sushi alone it would be a 4, but if you plan on desert expect disappointment, hence a 3* read more

I came here on a groupon, several times, and I think some of the food items are hit or miss. The Jasmine Fried Rice is usually pretty good. The General Tso's was a little too sour and I think chicken in the Singapore Noodles was out of date. The sushi is delicious, though not worth the money. This place was a total disaster. My co workers & I, 4 of us, went for lunch last week & we could not get anyone to take our order. The weird & disturbing part of this was we were the ONLY ONES THERE!!! When I motioned to the Asian hostess who seated us, she ignored us. Finally got this short waitress who acted like she didn't want to serve us. She seemed annoyed we were in the restaurant & then proceeded to get our orders wrong, then got annoyed when we told her about this. In the past, I would have given this place at least 4 stars. But recently, it's really gone down hill. The food no longer seems fresh. The staff is generally incompetent. The drinks are usually decent, albeit, they are often out of the ingredients especially for my favorite: the cucumber margarita. The pineapple fried rice is decent. Great happy hour specials. Sushi is good, curry is alright and G behind the bar is the best! Honestly the two things keeping this place from being 5 stars is the atmosphere and some of the waitstaff. The interior is in need of an update, it almost feels as though someone had started to design the interior but never had a goal in mind. This is my husband's and my favorite place to go for happy hour, for their half price sushi and drink specials. We were there this past Wednesday and the bar area was FULL! Glad we arrived when we did to be able to get a table. Geneva is our favorite bartender/server, and it's great being on a first name basis with her, receiving a warm welcome from her and the owner. We have been there when it's been extremely busy in the dining area, requiring a wait, but it was worth it. We sometimes go for the lunch specials. never again. We had a party of 7 on 8/18. The place had only 3 tables with patrons on a Saturday at 8pm. The waitress took our orders and left the menus on our table for the entire meal. Food was average...nothing special there. After 2 hours and $600 later the bill arrived, the music was turned off, bartender was now in street clothes and we were no longer welcome since it was closing time. After mentioning to the manager that we had horrible service we were told that the waitress felt we were too deep in conversation and that she did not want to disturb us! Was taken here for my birthday last Tuesday night. I will never go back for a sit down meal, again. The food was good. Must admit, however the service Sucked! There were only three tables being served with two waitress. And, our waitress took forever to serve us. Now, to get to the meat of it. My date had called ahead for the restaurant to do the birthday song with dessert. So, after we picked out dessert. The waitress informed my date that "there weren't enough people on duty that night to sing" So, she informed us that she wrote "Happy Birthday" on the plate and she was not going to sing. She, then drops the plate on the table turns and leaves. So, we're looking at each other like this was a joke right? Are we getting "Punked?" Or what???. So, stunned we just laughed it off. My friend and I had lunch at Jasmine yesterday for the first time. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was superb!! We started off with the Fried Wonton filled with Crab and Cream Cheese, sushi, and coconut shrimp. My friend had pineapple fried rice which we learned from the Manager Cindy that the cashews are seasoned and roasted on the premises. I had the Pad Thai Noodles with shrimp and enjoyed it a lot! The portions were a nice size and so were the shrimp. We especially enjoyed not having the taste of MSG in our mouths for the remainder of the day. We couldn't have selected a finer place to eat lunch. The service was excellent!!! The atmosphere was relaxing and quaint. The establishment was clean including the women's restroom. Our hostess Cynthia and server Chelsea were very friendly, professional and informative about the menu as well as the area's sites like the Concord Mall. We will definitely return very soon! So Jasmine was a fail last night. We were there 2 hrs and got a side salad & a single drink. In 2 hrs we saw 1 table get served. Their staff consisted of 1 bartender, a new sushi chef, 1 cook, and 1 waiter/host/bus boy/take out/ phone duty. What a mess!!! According to said waiter all staff left so last 2 days this was it for employees. After 1 1/2 hrs we got half of our sushi order and an apology with a "start with this bc I don't know how long the rest of order will take." Well, the usually cooked shrimp tempura was not cooked. I said we waited over an hr and our food isn't even cooked. He said sorry we can give you 30% off. I was shocked. I said, I don't want a discount, I want cooked food. His response after talking to the bartender/manager was they can give 50% off. I repeated myself and said, we want cooked shrimp tempura. He apologized again and said he can put the order in again but we wouldn't get it until rest a restaurant was served. Every table was taken and entire restaurant was waiting for food. I was in shock. So for whatever reason they thought that if they served 1 dish per table then at least the people had something. We totally left and he then asked me what about the bill? What should I pay? Seriously?! I said well I guess we can pay what what we consumed. We had 2 side salads, a tea and a soda, I had water. He looked shocked that I didn't want to pay for the uneaten uncooked food. The staff was very inviting and friendly and ensured we had everything we needed upon sitting down. We both had miso soup, which was very light and tasty. We also shared the spicy tuna roll and avocado roll as an appetizer. SPICY TUNA WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! Seriously the best spicy tuna that we've ever had. So fresh and delicious.
