One of the best tuna melts I ever had. My son loved his cheeseburger. The fries were okay. The service is fast and friendly.

Came here because they have Malaysian specialties. Those were terrible. So terrible, like rancid, that I have it another chance. Either Malaysian food is really rank - I think not, I have been there - or this place is scary bad. Maybe the american dishes are OK, that's what everyone else was eating. read more

This is our third time over two years that we have visited and enjoyed Jason's. Generally in the mid afternoon of different weekdays. Today, our third visit, was on a Tuesday around 10:15AM. Customer activity seemed light, service as usual was friendly, welcoming, and quick, both with greeting, being seated, menu questions were answered accurately and quickly, our order was taken accurately as evidenced by it's content when delivered, coffee was very good and our mugs were seldom empty. My wife had ordered Jason's Egg Benedict and in addition to a superb appearance, size of the entire order, she raved about the taste! My order, after a lot of hemming and hawing, was skimpy due to my upset stomach ..... I ordered a single pancake, which had some additives (banana, macadamia, and coconut), because of my curiosity and enjoyment of coconut meat and, if my stomach objected ... tossing a single pancake would be easily done ... I thought. When my order showed up, both of us reacted with "WOW". A single pancake at Jason's covers 99% of the plate (think 1 inch less than humongous)! I savored every bit, slowly, but all of that tasty pancake. Now my curiosity is up and I have to return to taste Jason's plain pancake. I suspect the basic pancake has it's own special taste which simply added to the stated additives. Exactly what a diner should be. Good food in large portions, great service, and endless coffee.

Jason's Cafe is much better than the many of the breakfast places around the area and with lower prices. The kids love Jason's Cafe. Always their #1 choice when eating out. Kid's menu is not extensive, but quite enough for the kids to choose from. They love the cheeseburger (which is like a regular size), and the penne cheese pasta. They usually have the pancakes for dessert. The fries are the best around. The adult's menu has a big variety of choices, from breakfast to Hawaii BBQ, served all day. The food is delicious and the price is reasonable. They even have wine by the bottle. The service is always friendly. They remember you, and greet you as soon as your comes through the door. Nothing bad to say--it's an affordable, fun place with quality brunch food. Although it's not very upscale, this breakfast joint serves up tasty diner classics with a friendly and homey experience. Their menu is HUGE: large variety of items that can please any member of the family. I definitely recommend ordering one of their coffee drinks or hot drinks, they serve them in huge mugs that are basically bowls (hot chocolate was amazing!). They also serve up some tasty smoothies in large wine glasses that make it a fun way to start your day. A bit torn about this rating. The owner is friendly and nice. The space feels fine for a diner and the food... Well it's about the food. The good news as lots of reviewers have noted there is plenty of it. The bad news is that this is one of the first restaurants I've ever been where the food is tasteless. I don't mean bad, just completely lacking in flavor. I ordered the Linguica omelette and I assumed you should be able to taste some flavor. Nothing. My wife works near Jason's Cafe so we are frequent visitors. Their Mongolian Beef served on crispy noodles is my favorite entree.

An almost perfect greasy spoon diner with all the staples on the menu of an American breakfast. The staff is super hard working and kind beyond what one should expect for a greasy spoon. There is nothing that is particularly outstanding, except that it is my hometown diner that I can get to know the staff and vice versa. My only complaint - if you like to sit at the bar seats for food, they are awkwardly placed and everytime the door opens for more people to come in, a massive draft wafts through. read more

I frequent Jason's 1-2 each week. I am huge fan of breakfast and Jason's always fits the bill. I have not ventured outside of the breakfast portion of the menu despite eating at varying hours of the day. My personal favorites are the Waffle Combo (w/ bacon and scrambled eggs) and the Jason's Skillet (eggs over easy). I order the former for most meals and the latter when a strong hunger hits. Coffee is decent and plentiful, service is quick and friendly. Most staff know my order and inquire about my parents or GF when I dine alone. Quality food and prompt service along with a wide variation of food keep my coming back. read more

Excellent service. The building is a bit run down, in and out, but service and food were both great. We were immediately seated, and our waiter was exceptionally nice and efficient. Yuck. I got eggs florentine, and they were sorta sorry and nasty. The english muffin wasn't toasted! I've never actually sent something back, but I asked them if they could fix it. The waiter was super sweet about it. They brought it back, and they had put the same eggs on top of the same, toasted english muffin, with more sauce to cover it up...meh. The service is fast and good. However, the coffee mugs are not clean. Lipstick stains on the edges of the mugs. The is pack with people waiting to be seated. I am really skeptic about eating here in comparison to Stacks. I just don't know. read more

a friend joined my husband and i for breakfast last week on a satruday morning. none of us had been here before. i was totally impressed...where do i start...we didn't have to wait more than a couple minutes for the menu and offer of something to drink. didn't have to wait long to place our orders. didn't have to wait long for our meals. the menu had so much variety. the presentation was great, the temperature of the food was hot! my harbor benedict was to die for. fresh, succulent crab. fresh spinach. hollandaise sauce was perfection. hubby's spicy sausage omelette was excellent - tasty and plentiful. friend's veggie benedict was excellent. one thing i wasn't crazy abt, was their home fries. not too tasty. but who needs taters when the rest of your plate is so scrumptious. if you're for a good breakfast place - this is it. :) read more

I don't mind the blah interior, and the staff were all very friendly, but basically this place is just OK. It's not particularly cheap, and they don't have real maple syrup, which alone is enough to make me choose the creamery instead every time. They did seem to have a big selection though so this review is based on the items below: Good: Coffee was very fresh, and they kept it coming. My fiance ordered eggs, hashbrowns, and toast and man were those hashbrowns delicious--among the best I've had but not a good choice if you're trying to avoid butter. Meh: I ordered the wheat germ banana pancakes. They were ok, very dry except for the banana part. I paid $2 extra to have fresh bananas and strawberries on top and this was absolutely necessary as they only had corn syrup (gross). WTF?: it took almost a half hour to get our food. We ordered eggs and pancakes, and it wasn't crowded. I didn't really mind the wait because it was a lazy Saturday morning for me, but in general this would be an issue. read more

Hit Jason's before a Stanford football game recently. When I arrived, the parking lot was empty and I was wondering a bit what I was getting into (it was around 8-ish in the morning). So imagine my surprise at receiving a large-portion breakfast with some of the best coffee I've had at a casual spot in a long time. All of which came with very friendly, attentive service. You know how Chef Gordon Ramsay's always carping about getting eggs cooked perfectly? I ordered a simple plate of scrambled eggs and bacon with a side of hash browns. The plate looked like it was assembled by a food stylist. Not only was the portion large, but I can hit 100 IHOPs on 100 mornings and I'll NEVER get scrambled eggs cooked as perfectly as they were at Jason's. Great call, as it turned out. And by the time I left--a little after 9--the parking lot and most of the dining room was full. So much for well-kept secrets.... read more

We have been eating breakfast on Sunday here about twice a month for the past year. Many customers also appear to be regulars. Wait staff is always attentive. We've had several different types of omelettes including the California (added diced ham) and the crab omelette which were great especially since I order mine with egg whites and "soft". The French toast really tasty. The only item we didn't care for was the crab crepes. Mimosas are a nice addition to breakfast. Make sure you get there before 10 am so you can be seated quickly. I usually always come here when I feel like eating a big breakfast during my work lunch time. Customer service can be a whole lot better since every time I go there there's a waitress that gives me dirty looks when I come in. This Sunday I ordered my usual " Jasons Skillet "and my friend ordered " The Montecristo." The next morning I woke up with a burning pain in my stomach and as soon as I went to the bathroom I was feeling nauseous accompanied with a fever. After that I threw up two times and let my friend know about how im feeling and she told me she was throwing up as well. This place gave me food poisoning. We were looking for a great place for breakfast late in the day - just after 3:00 pm. I had the steak and eggs. It was exactly what I needed. The steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. My wife had their special, huevos rancheros. Those were great too! We will be back! read more

I've experienced better service and well cooked food. Jason's Cafe is not a Denny's nor a Stacks, but they are so under managed. With only very few staff working around the kitchen, the food served had lack of quality. They need more help around the restaurant otherwise I do no see this restaurant doing so well. My experience here was a so so feeling. Without being greeted entering and nobody telling us where to sit, we just sat in the front couch until a waiter pointed to sit at the nearest booth. They didn't ask what we wanted to drink nor gave us menus to look at just glasses of water. The restaurant was less than half empty with a few people coming in and out. I noticed after right away there was two servers and one cook with the manager handling transactions, that was where i thought we are going to be here a awhile. The service from the lady server that attended us was very friendly and complying, I could understand the amount of stress she must be dealing knowing that she was the only server in the entire restaurant. As our food had arrive I notice three things; one the food was under cooked, two there was no napkins around, three the toast we had ordered was delayed and overwhelmingly burnt. I am not picky eater i'll eat anything, but when it comes to being under cooked or burnt then theirs an issue. The toast that we had was black front and back. I could understand the servers intentions were good, but before you hand someone food you have to be think what they are giving them. Would you eat what is being handed out knowing that there is some kind of defect? Obliviously not, but when it comes to restaurant business they have to comply to make their customers happy. Would I come back here again? Probably not, the reason - bad experience. Do I recommend it? Only if Stacks is way to crowed and have an appetite to trying something new. Is it great for kids? Its passable, they have great seating enough for the whole family, I did not see booster hairs though but they have an excellent kids menu. Overall its a restaurant that needs lots of improvement and more staff. read more

So we love it here. They mess up our oder on occasion and we have even gotten a glass with lipstick already on it. There's dirt pretty much everywhere and the food can be questionable but it's better then stacks and I hop by a landslide ... the prices are crazy fair and the waiters will remember you and are always nice. The menu is pretty similar to the Creamery in Palo Alto. There are lots of breakfast things, and then some sandwiches and dinner plates. They've been open for a week or two. I will go back to the Creamery instead next time. The service was really slow (probably because the place is so new?), and they screwed up my order (my sandwich came with mayo even though I ordered it with no mayo). It also took a long time to pay after I was done. It wasn't that busy while I was there. I will write most of this off to the place being brand new. On the plus side there are lots of comfortable booths, so it was a good place to relax and read (while I waited 20+ minutes for them to make a sandwich). The fries were pretty good. But nothing special. I will wait a few months before I come back - hopefully they will have improved. Also, I suppose it's possible that the breakfast is much better. read more

I met two other people for breakfast on a Saturday morning. There was no wait and breakfast was served promptly and piping hot. It's easy to find and simple, fast food. I recommend it for medium size gatherings and a clean spot. I ordered the egg benedict which was pretty average. read more

Jason's a wonderful diner. I tried the chicken scaloppini a few weeks ago mainly because it came with mashed potatoes. It was really great. Everything is made in house, the sautéed vegetables were wonderfully seasoned, the sauce on the chicken and mashed potatoes was really tasty. You could tell that is was made to order, nothing premade. The mashed potatoes were fresh, buttery and just what I wanted. Portions are very generous. My husband always has to finished my chicken. They also have reasonable wine (just a reasonable wine that you may have at home). It is not fancy, but great home cooked food and really solid, wonderful service. Their breakfast skillets are also darn good. It is was too much food but it is well seasoned and always cooked to order. Good smoothies and coffee as well. read more

Ew. Ew. Ew. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I tried this place for breakfast because Stacks was way too crowded. I ordered the country fried steak skillet with home style potatoes. Food smelled kinda funky when it came out, but I ate it nonetheless. For the remainder of the day I regretted this decision. Both me and my husband, who shared the dish with me, ended up sick to our stomachs. It was disgusting and I'm making sure I let all my friends and relatives know not to eat at Jason's. I'd rather wait for an hour to sit down at Stacks than poison myself with the food from Jason's. And, as many others pointed out, it took FOREVER for the food to come out. And then I couldn't find the server to pay for the food so I had to stand up at the counter like a jackass waiting for anyone to help me. Overpriced, overrated.. We love this casual restaurant. The service is very friendly and prompt. The menu is huge. No matter what you're in the mood for, it's probably on their menu. Their cinnamon swirl french toast is the best I've ever tasted. Tonight we split the Banana Granite dessert.
