I had such a lovely experience here! I stopped by last week while doing laundry next door, honestly in a pretty bad mood. After I reading the reviews on Yelp, I think her name is Kelly (the owner?) greeted me with such kindness and even offered me a complimentary Oreo smoothie -- it completely turned my day around! A 10-15 min wait ended up being over 30 mins. We were one of the earlier customers there and those who arrived after us got their drinks before us. I suggest ordering online to avoid the wait. I didn't like the passion fruit sunrise. It had a weird taste to it. Not sure if it was the passion fruit or green tea because it didn't taste like passion fruit to me. Tea It Up is pretty good! It's nice to have a boba option in the area. My friend and I came here yesterday and I had the honeydew milk tea with boba, and she had a mango smoothie or slushee. The service was extremely fast. I do wish you ordered with a person and not at a kiosk. There isn't very much decor, but I think if they decorated the interior and added food options other than chips, this would be a solid hangout! Editing to add that I had a similar experience to a Yelper below- some of the boba in my drink was perfectly cooked, and some of it was not cooked all of the way and a little dry/too chewy and hard. read more

The boba itself is not bad. The honey boba is yummy and chewy, and the egg pudding is nice and sweet as well. I got the "Double O" (oreo + potentially oolong) with egg pudding. One thing I noticed is that I got 0% sweet and that was definitely unsweet (would recommend 25%). However, I went with some friends and some of the drinks that they got were a little wonky on the sweetness scale - like 25% is sweeter than 75%. Knocking off some stars for that inconsistency. I then went back in and asked if they got the old and new boba mixed, and they both asked each other and told me "no it was new." Also, the sea salt foam was not added which I paid for, and the 50% sweetness seemed 100%. I went back in for the second time to ask them and replace the toppings with grass jelly. Stopped by here on my way home, after a visit to the nearby Stanford Shopping Center. Located in a rather quiet and unassuming corner lot, filled with a few other businesses and a private lot for parking. The store itself is clean, spacious, well-lit, and inviting; with both indoor and outdoor seating offered. Being a rather hot day, I ordered the Passion Fruit Slushie with honey boba. 1st topping is free, and drink was very reasonably priced at $5.75. I love Genmaicha tea, and I wanted to try a new place. -- TL;DR -1 star for watery milk tea -1 star for an inconsistent menu across 3 platforms (had I not ordered online, I would have missed out on the other cool drinks!!) -- In the plaza on the corner of El Camino and Menlo Ave, it's convenient that there's a mini parking lot and the lights to regulate the traffic. On Yelp, their menu options seem limited, but when you go their website, it has more options. Even more options if you choose to order online. Not sure why the menu is so inconsistent, so at first glance, this shop doesn't look like it has much to offer. I'm also a bit biased against boba shops that look extremely aesthetic because in my experience, the tea/boba shop is IG worthy, but the drink is bad. My Genmaicha tea was watery (ordered less ice, so maybe the ice melted while I was on my way to picking it up or they add water to offset the "less ice"), and don't think I'd get it again at this place. However, their menu is adventurous enough that I want to come back and try a different tea, and maybe do regular ice instead. read more

WHAT WE GOT: - Lavender Love: 1/5- my friend said that this tasted like lemonade. - Purple Rose: 2/5 - my friend described this drink as cherry medicine. - Strawberry Jasmine: 1/5; 75% sweetness + boba. It tasted more like a strawberry smoothie which was a bit disappointing. I definitely tasted the strawberry syrup as well which was a bit overwhelming to drink. Some of the boba for this drink was not cooked so I had some hard boba in my drink which wasn't very good. - Ocean Potion: 3/5: light ice, 75% sweetness + boba. The drink was so pretty, but the flavor was just okay. Some of the boba was not cooked all of the way so I had some hard boba. Overall, a 2/5. Been going here for several years now and the drinks are great, the staff is lovely, and it's pretty consistent. The boba is always fresh and delicious, and the tea is strong and flavorful. It's hard to find places nowadays with a good honeydew milk tea, and this one takes the cake as one of my faves. My top recommendations as of recently would be their Thai Green Milk Tea or their Mango Milk Tea. read more

It was around 7:30 PM on a Sunday night and it seemed like there was only one staff working. We ordered 2 drinks and it took a long while, about 25 minutes. Strawberry Jasmine: It was pretty decent. Blended tea drink. Reminded me of the strawberry Milkita candies. I love my teas, so I wish the tea was stronger. Passion Sunset: We asked for half sweet and it was still wayyy too sweet. She was right - Tea It Up isn't even a five minute walk from Chef Kwan's. Venue: Tiny, but clean. They have tabled seating inside and outside for those who want to hang out and drink. Drinks: Mom ordered the Taro Milk Tea with Red Bean and enjoyed it. I didn't taste her drink, but it looked prettily purple. I had the Thai Milk Tea with Grass Jelly which wasn't bad, but not the best - I have had creamier and tastier at other places. My son liked the Strawberry Smoothie. I ordered my usual - jasmine milk tea with boba. The drink did not have much milk or tea taste to it. We went and used the self-ordering system to order two fruit teas, and after waiting for a bit we were informed that they had run out of tea (?!) and honey boba. We weren't notified about this until long after we had placed the order, and there wasn't any signage nor did the workers inform us of this when we walked in. We asked for a refund but the workers didn't have admin access to the payment system so we couldn't get a refund either. We were forced to choose from the drinks that didn't have tea in it, which was disappointing since we didn't want any of the other drinks. As for the drinks we did end up getting, we ended up getting the Refreshing Lychee with Lychee Bits and Refreshing Peach with Peach Bits, both at 50% sweetness. The drinks were far too sweet, it tasted like 120% sweetness level and I couldn't even finish my drink. The drinks also tasted very artificial. I definitely would not come here again. read more

This place is capable of making a good-tasting drink, but I've noticed it's luck of the draw: sometimes it's good, other times it's bland and watered down. It turns out that's because the employees sometimes use two teabags, and sometimes only one -- even for the exact same drink. I'm no barista, but it seems clear to me that when it comes to supplying a 22-ounce drink with adequate flavor, one teabag won't cut it. More recently, I learned that the owner has instructed the workers to only use one teabag in certain drinks from now on, which means that the last watery disappointment they made me was intentional. BUT....it's also COVID-19 so pickings are very slim. Well, Yelp to the rescue again and thank you to the business owner of Tea It Up for staying open during this pandemic (and keeping your hours current on Yelp). On the menu are Freshly Brewed Teas, Blended [Fruit] Teas, Fruit Teas, Milk Teas, and Coffee ($3.95- $5). Ice and sweetness levels are customizable. I've visited Tea It Up twice during COVID-19 - the first experience was pretty good but the second time, sadly, not so good. On my first visit, I tried the Organic Heavy Oolong Milk Tea, 50% sweet ($4.75). Despite the pale color, I was pleasantly surprised that the oolong milk tea had prominent tea flavor with a good balance of milky creaminess and just the right sweetness. This will be my go-to when I'm in the area again. I also ordered the Strawberry Jasmine Tea ($5) to drop off to a friend. At 50% sweetness, my friend said, it was very cloyingly sweet. On my second visit, I ordered the Decaf Oolong Milk Tea, 50% sweetness ($4.50). It had a weird aftertaste from the non-dairy creamer and at 50% sweet, it was unbearably sweet. It seems like the Decaf OMT is made with non-dairy creamer but the Regular OMT is made with real milk? I also ordered the Strawberry Lemonade, 25% sweetness ($4.50?) and it tasted like artificial sugar water. There was no tartness to offset the sweetness. Service was kind and prompt. I appreciated that ALL the staff wore their masks properly and for the touchless payment (place your credit card on a tray and tell the cashier how much tip you want to add). Easy parking in the shared private lot. With very few options in the area for milk tea, 3.5 STARS rounded up. Tea It Up is less than 4 months old so I'm sure they'll work out their kinks soon. Decided to give this place a try since I'll be working out this way for awhile, and let me tell you. I had a Osmanthus Olong milk tea with honey boba and pudding. This drink hits the spot for me! They use real brewed tea, and the boba was nice and flavorful. The pudding was good. Asked to make it using 1/2 the usually sweetness and it tasted just right. Plus they have 2 tiny outdoor tables to sit down and have your tea, and the front is facing away from the sun so during summer afternoons you'll be in the shade.
