    Reuben The Great Regular

First time at Jason's and I enjoyed it a lot. I would say the sandwiches are better than Panera Bread and they give you a bit more food which leaves you stuffed. The Reuben was one of the better ones I've had with the corn beef tasting fabulous and not an overwhelming taste of sauerkraut or sauce. The broccoli cheddar soup was also really delicious and filling. I'd definitely go here again for a lunch with coworkers. Restaurant was clean, spacious, and bright. The staff was wonderful and helps us decide on food and cleaned up extra dishes as we fished them.

Everything was fine. The reason for three stars is that the size of the sandwiches and price compared to other places that offer similar food. My muffuletta was decent but very salty. The panini was good but smaller than Panera and other competitors. The mac and cheese tasted like it came right out of a Kraft box. Jason's is set up like delis with counters you could grab multiple things from. In this case with COVID restrictions I ordered at the main counter and then waited for my name to be called. It took quite a while for three sandwiches and a few sides. The employees were all working hard and wearing masks and gloves. I'll come back and try again to hopefully have a different experience.

I never have a bad meal from jasons! Their salads are HUGE always last me 2 meals. I always get the Chicken Caesar - Original and today I got the Cup Chicken Pot Pie soup! And wow that was amazing. Cant wait to try all the soups! Had chicken tortilla previously is that was so good too. I'm so happy I stumbled upon this place.

    Mesa Chicken Wrap

I was looking for something relatively healthy and quick for dinner, so I decided to stop into Jason's Deli. Boy, what a mistake to do! I ordered a mesa chicken wrap to go. When I got home, a half of a wrap was included in my bag. $13.49 for something I could conjure up at home?! Never again. I do not recommend coming here, as the teenagers who are making the food obviously don't care about what they are doing.

He wanted dinner so after thinking about it, we stopped by here. I decided on tomato soup and grilled cheese since it was a little chilly. He had a turkey wrap and a soup also. I had a chocolate ice cream cone while I waited for our order. The ice cream machine the last two visits have been putting out melted ice cream. So it wasn't that great. Dropes everywhere and was a mess. Finally the buzzer went off and he picked up our order. The grilled cheese was decent and the tomato soup hot for the cold night. It was not a regular soup out of a can. Had some depth of flavor to it. His turkey wrap was short on turkey and long on veggies. He didn't eat most of it. The soup was average to him. I took the tray to the counter after cleaning up the table to make it easier on the servers. Don't do that. They don't appreciate it. The supervisor person practically growled at a server in back to come take the tray away. Lesson learned.

We love Jason's deli. Good sandwiches and salad bar. Our kids live frozen yogurt at the end of every meal. My daughter loves the spaghetti.

It really gave me RVA (Richmond, VA circa early 2000s) nostalgia vibes like for places I worked in around Broadway during college! Wow. Love everything about this place. I'd been going to a lot of coffee shops lately where the style is all like new stuff and new style (which I LOVE) but the style of Tessa Delicatessen was so unexpectedly refreshing. I didn't realize that this part of Colfax was Park Hill! I saw a lot of other interesting places nearby. Can't wait to go back and wander! Not sure if it was the owner that greeted me at the register but she was very friendly and warm. I love the self serve coffee and water and you get to pick a unique mug to drink from. Really strong neighborhood vibe and I think she said it had been open since 2017. So cool! I'm obsessed with the spaciousness and space! My breakfast sandwich did explode all over my hand - so be careful! The egg is soft inside! I got coffee, cheesy hash and the breakfast sandwich. $25 for everything including tip. I think that's a great deal for a lovely morning vibe and breakfast in 2026!

We started with their traditional black eyed pea soup because good luck traditions matter. Shortly after, I "found" three dollars in my coat pocket. Was it already my change from the store? Yes. Did I still credit the soup? Also yes. From there, we leaned fully into deli mode. The cheeseburger was solid and satisfying, the Reuben hit all the right notes, and the macaroni salad was exactly what you want it to be. No frills, just done right. Dessert sealed the deal. The cheesecake was rich without being heavy, and the carrot cake was genuinely excellent. Tessa feels like one of those neighborhood spots you can come back to again and again. Comforting, straightforward, and very good at what they do. Fortune and prosperity aside, this place is worth a visit on its own.

While the former Ambli space has been brightened and renovated to look very much like an east shore market, the seating is less than comfortable. I guess the combo of poor food, bad service and uncomfortable seating is great for turning tables? I will put aside the TERRIBLE service and focus purely on the food. We ate at Zaidy's for breakfast. Many of the breakfast sandwiches are based on their in-house-made bagels. This is a failure! The bagels taste stale for "freshly made" and I find it very odd for a Jewish-themed joint to toss bacon into the sandwich (I personally love bacon, BTW). So setting aside the shanda (shame) bacon...with the cheese, there is an utter lack of seasoning. The breakfast sandwich came with home fried potatoes which were cooked nice and crisp but lacking any seasoning whatsoever. The latke grilled cheese looks appealing but is basically a greasy sponge filled with limp tomato and undercoooked cheese. And finally, the blintzes are an embarrassment to any self-respecting Jew. Zaddy's version are these small pockets that are under fried and more the size of a hamantaschen than a true blinze. I see no reason to rush back. Another few blocks down the street is Sam's 3, where a far better breakfast could be realized and Rosenberg's bagel on Monoco for better bread (albeit that Rosenberg's doesn't serve sandwiches)

We finally made our first trip to the Hilltop location…read more We hail from DC, so we were surprised we learned about Call Your Mother after moving to Denver. Thank goodness we did! Their bagels are inspired by both New York and Montreal styles, giving them a perfectly chewy texture with just a hint of sweetness. They're fantastic on their own, but they really shine as the foundation for these breakfast sandwiches. I ordered the Thunderbird, and as someone who normally avoids both salt & pepper bagels (I know...weird) and sweet-and-savory combinations, I wasn't sure what to expect. Turns out I was completely wrong. The maple chicken sausage, fluffy bodega-style eggs, melty American and cheddar, spicy honey, and maple salt & pepper bagel somehow create the perfect balance. Nothing overpowers anything else, and every bite just works. My friend had the Pastrami Sun City, which was equally outstanding. The pastrami was tender and flavorful, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the spicy honey added just the right amount of sweetness without stealing the show. We also ordered the latkes, served with both sour cream and applesauce. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and exactly what you want from a great potato pancake. Being able to switch between the tang of the sour cream and the sweetness of the applesauce made them even better. And don't leave without grabbing a Chocolate Babka Muffin. It has that rich chocolate swirl you'd expect from babka with a crunchy, sugary exterior that's impossible to resist. The colorful, upbeat atmosphere matches the food, and it's clear this place has developed its own identity instead of trying to imitate a traditional deli. That's refreshing. Service is friendly and quick. We saw several people picking up ordrs to go as well. For a first visit, this was a home run. We'll absolutely be back - and next time we're diving into more of the bagels and schmears. Denver is lucky to have a spot like this.
