I've been to this location a number of times over the years. I feel compelled to praise the management and staff that has recently taken over. Also the renovations and expansions are great, and more importantly, this is a clean restaurant. Melissa the manager personally brought out our food and is obviously working hard to create a courteous and service-oriented environment here. The food was good and came in a timely fashion. He staff were attentive and helpful. We also noticed that they advertise working with charitable community partners, in particular schools and churches. All of this means we will definitely be visiting here more often. read more

Last three trips to Jason's Deli they didn't prepare my food as ordered. Just fixing the sandwiches as they wanted and not as ordered. Time to get more mature help that listens to customers when they speak. I will start giving by business to someone that listens. read more

I travel full-time and over the years we have enjoyed many Jasons deli locations in several states. However this past Saturday May 22nd at Jasons deli in Denton Texas after we paid & got our salad bar my wife wanted me to get a couple of very small items for our 16 month old granddaughter so I went and got an extra tiny 4" plate just for a little potato salad and pasta salad for our little girl... over the years I have actually had Jasons deli's managers say directly to me "feel free to use as many of those tiny plates as you need so you don't have to stack all your food on just one bowl"... I have never had a Jason's deli manager tell us that we had to limit the tiny plates to just 1 only! ...however David at the Denton Texas location stopped me and he said "you cannot take more than 1 of the very small plates"...it was  they way he said it was just rude, anti-hospitable, and making a big deal out of nothing...risking losing valued customers... I told him I would absolutely never speak to customers rudely like that & that Customers are always more important than policy...i have a thick skin, but i just don't want others to be treated like that... David appeared to be a diligent worker, he just needs to learn that no customers = no $ read more

Jason's Deli has it going on! I stopped in for soups, salad and a drink during lunch this week. I usually go to Panera. This will be my Covid Go To Lunch spot for now on! The potato soup was delicious. The salads we very fresh and packed with real chicken and ham. Additionally, the service was exceptional. We usually love this place but this location is terrible. The only thing that tastes right at this one is the salad bar, and you can't f**k that up. My beefeater was cold when I got and and you could tell it had been sitting out. The roast beef was gray also, where's the pink? My mom and I had the best experience at Jason's deli in Denton! First off my 83 year old mom was trying to find a quiet table since it's hard for her to hear. I believe it was the manager that came over to ask my mother if she needed help. When my mom said she was looking for a table, a little away from the crowd, the manager helped her move her things to another side of the restaurant where no one was sitting. How nice of the manager to care about my momma. So we set in a secluded area where we could easily visit. Next the salad bar was so clean and the food very fresh. I was in that area a couple of times getting things and I noticed a worker continuing to restock the salad bar and wipe down everything. She also was cleaning off and wiping down the drink station. She took her job seriously and worked her best to keep the food area clean and looking nice. We also noticed how all the kitchen staff and workers were treating each other. . .everyone was so pleasant and friendly with each other, like they really enjoyed their job- they worked as a real team!! Honestly it felt like a family owned restaurant. I was impressed with this Jason's deli and will definitely be back for another delicious meal and pleasant atmosphere. This is my first time in Jason Deli. We walked in and was greeted immediately by the one of the workers(cashier). I looked around and saw this place was very clean after the lunch rush. That's a plus for me. I purchased the Cowboy sandwich, Metaball sandwich, Southwestern Chili and the Seafood Gumbo. Oh almost forgot carrot cake and strawberry shortcake. Hummm! The sandwiches were great and Southwestern Chili was okay. Overall experience was great. The customer service was the best. We were looking for months for a good salad bar in Denton (moved here in August) and read other good reviews on Jason's Deli, tried it, and we'll be going back, a lot! I agree that they have the best salad bar in Denton, and while it isn't huge (Fresh Choice or Souplanation size), it is well stocked and diverse: Four or five different kinds of lettuce mixes, various non-lettuce salads, standard vegetable assortment, whole eggs, cottage cheese, dried fruit mix, multiple types of croutons, muffins, fruit, and more than 5 different dressings. My family and I attempted to eat here the other day. We were greeted by a store employee named Mason at the door, he noticed my lawfully carried firearm, and asked me if I was a police officer, to which I answered "no", he then told me that I couldn't bring my firearm into the restaurant. I did not notice any of the signage posted on the windows out front, as is customary in these situations, but in the interest of not creating a scene, i returned my family and weapon to our vehicle. I then returned to the store to obtain the contact information for their corporate office so that I could file a complaint. Mason greeted me again, and said "don't worry about the contact information, we will take care of it", not exactly sure what he meant, but I then demanded to speak to a manager. The manager comes out, and is very polite. during our conversation, I identify myself as a paramedic/first responder, and Mason overhears this and makes the comment "do you have to shoot people to be a paramedic". This catches the managers attention and she asks Mason to leave the area. Not exactly the experience I was looking for at a professional business. The manager points out the legally required signage, that is posted at a separate, non-main entrance. I will not spend money at business that limit my constitutional rights to protect myself and my family from harm. We found a nice salad place in Denton after we left here, I suggest you do the same. read more

I ordered a salad from this Jason's to go. When I got back to my office I discovered this "salad" was very lacking in lettuce. It was heaped with chicken, bacon, and cheese but had very little lettuce. And half way through this "salad" I found a hair. After I complained, a customer service representative told me that all portion sizes were set so there should be a problem with the amount of lettuce. She asked several times if she could give me a gift card but would not refund my meal. There are better places in town to get a soup and salad. read more

Gave this place two shots and I was left unimpressed w/the food and the service. My very first time going to JD, everyone in my group ordered entrees that apparently came with a salad. When I received my entree with an extra plate, I assumed that was my plate for the salad bar as well. When I went to the salad bar, the manager confronted me in full view of the whole restaurant, physically getting between me and the salad bar, and asked if I had ordered a salad (as if I would be at the salad bar if I believed I had not). "Uh...I thought it came with one?" I replied, as I held up my plate. He explained that my entree didn't come with a salad (surprising, considering how much it cost), and that was just an extra plate to go under my entree plate. His complete lack of discretion turned an awkward situation into an embarrassing one, as the restaurant was full at the time and his body language and insinuative phrasing drew unnecessary attention. As someone who worked in the restaurant industry, I was taken aback at how the situation was handled. Were I in his position, I would at the very least have come to the table to inform me, and probably would have taken the opportunity to offer the salad for free to clutch a new customer with a kind response to their error, instead of what he did--guarantee that I didn't give them my business for several years. My second and last experience with JD, I ordered Spinach Veggie Wrap for pickup, and it was terrible. I assumed that the mushrooms would be cooked and seasoned, because really, who serves unseasoned mushrooms, especially when they serve to substitute the "meat" of a sandwich? Apparently, JD. Bland, and uninspired. I cannot believe what they have the audacity to charge for their food. As someone who loves deli's, I'm used to paying $8-$11 for a good sandwhich,side and drink or other deli fare. But JD is overpriced for the food they serve. If I wanted to feel jipped by a disappointing sandwich and side of chips, I would have just gone to Subway. If you want a delicious deli experience, just drive a block further down 288 to McAlister's Deli--awesome food and amazing, friendly service EVERY TIME. read more

Ok yes everyone loves Jason's Deli. Just couldn't help but comment on my last experience. Ordered a sandwich that's normally loaded with a ton of bacon. Trying to eat healthy I asked for no bacon. No prob for them they are basically making free money off me. Then I ask if instead of the plate of potato chips for a VERY small like maybe soup cup size of lettuce. I was told that would be $2.99 plus tax. Ha no thanks. I understand they have guidelines to follow but it was a manger who informed me of up charge. Jason's is a good change of pace from your taco bells and McDonald's type of places for lunch. Friendly staff keep the place clean. Food is good albeit the price is a bit high in my opinion, which is why it didn't get 4 stars. I do enjoy the salad bar, it could use a few more meats but overall I find its the best in Denton. Parking lot is usually pretty full and spots are tight, but that's most every where and doesn't deflect from my decision to pop in. The management staff always does a good job of checking on customers. Overall it's a great place that we enjoy several times a month. You can feel good about dinning here. read more

Great, fast, cheap, and healthy (what more can you ask for?)! The restaurant was completely full when we went there for lunch, and the staff handled it like pros. Wonderful staff! My family and I visited today when my nephew got sick right before we were leaving. They were so nice about it (it was a big mess) and wouldn't let us help clean up. I had a great first experience here. I stopped in to get lunch for take out and found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. I ordered a pesto chicken panini with broccoli cheese soup and both were incredibly fresh and flavorful. Jason's is also not very expensive, so it's a great value. I'm getting really fed up with the way this Jason's deli handles business. This is the only Jason's deli in town so I'm forced to go to this one. Several times I've ordered a baked potato and it was lacking ingredients that someone obviously just forgot to do. I've also ordered several times online and I always have to call up there because I never receive confirmation emails. If I don't call up there the people are always confused when I ask for my order and say "oh nobody ever confirmed it." And then I have to wait even longer as they make my food right there. If they do happen to have the order they always ask me for payment even tho I always pay online and I constantly have to explain this. Then I almost always have to ask for my drink cup because they don't pay attention to the order. It's really just complete lack of care and I'm getting really tired of it read more

I have been to many jason delis but this is by far the worst! The pasta is so bland and gross. The tomato sauce on it has no consistency its basically meat flavored water because it doesn't even taste like tomatos or anything else. Horrible horrible. Service was fine but terrible food. read more

The sandwiches here are good and the kids like all the choices on the kids menu. I wish they had low sodium offerings. I ordered a sandwich and French onion soup online, so I went to go pick it up and the food was sitting in a bag on the counter? Not under a heat lamp or in one of those little warmer box things. So that already was slightly irritating. The manager opened my stapled shut bag right in front of me to check it, she obviously doesn't have faith that her employees can pack a to go bag correctly. Thank goodness she did, the bag was missing half my order. I get home , the sand which is fine, but the French onion soup is thick and solidified, which leads me to believe they had pre-poured it and simply reheated it when I ordered. I ordered the Mediterranean Wrap and it was so NOT worth what I paid for it. It tasted alright but it looked like it was just slapped together in a hurry with little to no meat. A wrap should be filled with goodies, mine was flat and the contents (lettuce) falling out of it. I would've given them no stars but I got a pickle that I didn't expect! Can I choose a minus 3 stars? On the surface, this place looks fine. HOWEVER, the health department needs to take a closer look. On our Umpteenth (and final) visit there to what was once our favorite place to find a broad selection for everyone, our group was appalled by the cleaning regime. The employee was STANDING ON THE FOOD PREP SURFACE WITH STREET SHOES, reaching up over his head, FLIPPIING A FILTHY RAG AND SPRAYING CLEANER WHICH LANDED BELOW, all while the place was full of customers! THEN, the cleaner jumped down, did not clean the sink and food prep area but went over and visited friends in the food service line, while flipping the cleaning rag around. When the Manager was told of this entire scene, he basically blew off the three complaints. A few moments later, he pointed us out to the perp and they laughed about it. None of the 16 people will ever go there again. Ick! Oh, and the health department inspector was to call us back after the next inspection and she never did. She knew the owner who lives in Ft. Worth, supposedly. Said he would not be happy about this event. If you go there, GOOD LUCK. Hope your immune system is intact. read more
