This was my second time at Jason's deli. I shy away because their prices are a bit too steep for me. Anyway I went there on October 20th. I was a bit lost but one of the ladies behind the counter recognized me from work, and she helped me out. I work at a public state office near there. I was lost because I am not familiar with their menu. I ordered this turkey cranberry sandwich. That's not the real name, but close. It was aesthetically pleasing with purple onions all. I chose a small fruit cup with a dipping sauce on the side. I mentioned all that to say this: that was maybe the best sandwich/lunch I've ever had. I ordered it as take out. I sat in my truck somewhere and ate. It was a nice fall day. Maybe I've had some sandwiches just as good, but I don't remember them. Kudos to JD on that lunch. I'll be back. As the saying goes you get what you pay for. Next time I plan to intrepidly use the salad bar. Maybe the new restaurant will be open by then. The present restaurant is nice as well. read more

They started out great. We were excited to have one near us. We'd stop by once or twice a week. The last few rimes we've eaten here they've messed up our order or the food was just thrown together. Baked potatoes not fully cooked, old strawberries, etc. This last time we ordered a two different sandwiches. We ended up with three sandwiches all the same and the order was all wrong. We called them to let them know of the mistake and we were offered a $20 gift card because they were already closed. We got the gift card in the mail and it was only for $18!! So we were overcharged for their mistake and then they didn't do as they promised. Needles to say I will no longer patronize this location. read more

The food is always fresh, however we have had problems with togo orders multiple times. We keep going back because this location is close to home. But be aware that the food 1) most likely will take longer than it should 2) may not be correct, and 3) might be sitting behind the counter, ready to go, and the employees not realize it for 15 minutes. read more

Great that they have a drive thru but what's with the menu? Instead of putting a menu somewhere in the long line they put a quarter of the menu where you are supposed to order causing you to be rushed and also not know what the heck they are offering . So far the two times I have gotten to go from here it has been okay but would have been better had I been able to order exactly what I wanted rather than try to remember what they offered or trying to look up their menu on my phone while in line. Hopefully they get this fixed as I think they are a solid franchise with a good product. read more

Grilled cheese and tomato soup combo is the best! Fresh and delicious. They have the option to put the soup in a bread bowl instead of a normal bowl and it is definitely the way to go. Price is great as well, only about $8 for the combo of these two. I just did takeout but the counter service was speedy which is great if looking for a quick lunch spot. read more

Had a horrible experience with one of the wait staff at Jason's on 290/Northwest. Called and talked to an assistant manager who told me he would make sure the main General Manager would call me back and no call. We were very good satisfied customers at this location for many years but how we were treated by a wait staff member changed all of that. CALL your customers back. Instead you lost 4 good customers over not taking a few minutes to call us back. read more

This location has some very nice menu choices with a lot of options. Menu is varied some with choices that require decisions. However wish mgmt would change order taking process. Cashier often seem impatient as if everyone already knows what's on the menu. Even if there is no one else in line. Perhaps have an order sheet or tablet as the interaction has on several occasions been very annoying. read more

I ordered mighty salmon salad to go from Jason's deli on 34th street 02/19/2015 when I was walking to my car I dropped the food on the pavement . I walked back to the store and asked a young sales associate to dispose it and I ordered a new one. Good food at fast food prices. I get the managers special. Cup of soup and a small sandwich. Both the French Onion and the tortilla soup are very good. Sometimes I get the salad bar. Jason's Deli is pretty much the only fast food drive thru I go to in Houston.The food selection here is reasonably healthy and I love that they don't add high fructose corn syrup to any of their food. I usually get the California club and the chicken pasta primo as well if Im really hungry. Most of the time the food here is pretty good, but I have to remove one star because the quality is not that consistent. At times Ive found they've used too much dressing or the vegetables aren't as fresh. But overall this is a great healthy fast food option. Side note, there's optional sides for the sandwiches that are not labeled on the menu for some reason. There's about 9, some of which are chips and guac, chips and salsa, and pasta salad. Our company recently ordered 19 boxed lunches (over $175) and we only received 17, which can happen of course. It's the response that lost them our business. When we called to alert them to 2 missing lunches, the young man who answered told us that the driver packed and delivered what we ordered. No attempt was made to fix the problem.
