A visit to Jason's Deli, well known for its well-stocked salad bar, tasty soups and sandwiches, turned out to be a mediocre experience for me this time. I ordered a Chicken Panini which is supposed to come with grilled chicken, provolone cheese, pesto aioli and tomato, but it lacked the tomato. The ingredients were melted between 2 slices of sourdough, so it was difficult to open the sandwich. I kept hoping a piece of tomato would be in the next few bites I took - but nada. In addition, the price has gone up (like prices have most everywhere), and the thin chicken panini with a small bag of chips now costs $11.49. Few customers dined at the time I ate, however, the staff kept busy replenishing the salad bar and other stations. read more

Yeah, not much has changed in the last few years. Salad bar was OK, but they aren't hiding the fact they don't want you making more than 1 trip to the salad bar. Also, the broccoli cheddar soup was barely above room temp. This was at around 11:45am. Not the first time that's happened. Probably why I don't visit very often. They literally have an employee standing there serving soup from the same spot all day long. How hard can it be to check temps regularly. Came in Tuesday evening looking for warm food to take home. We live within 15 minutes of the N. Peters Rd location. Ordered beef stew and a Beefeater sandwich. Sadly both of the stews were very cool and took heating in our microwave to get them acceptably warm. In fact I could probably call in a health code violation because these were too cool to be served. The stew tasted nice but again it was cool on opening the container. Soup should be hot, not cool. We're not even talking luke warm. We are talking about cool like the bag was just opened and they hoped it would be warm enough. The sandwich was also cool though I saw it go through the heater. It too tasted okay once you get around it being cool and not warm or hot. We used to eat at this location more often but have dropped off because of issues like this. The quality of food and service has really declined at Jasons Deli. Today I order beef stew and salad bar. The beef stew was Luke warm and had lots of lumps of fat vs meat. The flavor of the juice was flavorful at least. The lady at the end of the counter was very snippy. The salad bar was super messy, the pepperocini were bad. Hubby goes to various places each day for lunch with many of the guys at his work. Hubby loves good deli's he's a Jersey boy! Haha So to Jason's he went. Place is clean and friendly and fast! He got a roast beef with provolone tomatoes lettuce red peppers and herbs and olive oil. Made a salad at the salad bar added balsamic vinegar. Hardy and so fresh he said, exactly what he wanted. The Spuds here are delicious, but beware they may not be in supply! I went to Jason at around 2:30 because sometimes I eat late lunch. I went to order but the worker told me they have no spud ready, they were cooking more. I was turned away and had to find another place to eat, all because they could not supply a spud. The spuds are incredible, would highly recommend eating them but be ware of this place they might not always have them ready! read more

Always tastes fresh and they have a big variety. They are open for dine in again with restrictions of course. An employee has to do the salad bar for you and you have to get a new cup every time you get water (seems wasteful but I guess it's so your face germs don't touch the machine). I tried the lobster soup and it was okay (I should have known better for $6 a bowl and after just having super fresh seafood at the beach last week it would pale in comparison). I wanted my old faithful favorite, the bow tie noodle pasta with zucchini and other vegetables but they have a limited menu due to COVID-19. My kids split a chicken Alfredo with me and they loved it. DONT GO, when you have an Italian sub marketed, you should never I mean never put Italian dressing on some salami meat and call it a dang Italian hoagie because that's not what it is..... Italian hoagies have four or five different types of Italian meats... on top of that, there should be NO mustard. I mean NO mustard on an Italian hoagie, you should do more research on how to make an Italian hoagie and not make the bread soggy .5 secs from when I receive my sandwich. My husband had the turkey muffaletta and I had the traditional muffaletta sandwich. Both were outstanding! We also had a cup of the Irish potato soup, and it was as good as my favorite Irish restaurant. Easy and easy, easy out, the only slight criticism I have is the lady who waited on us was a bit impatient and not helpful when I asked her questions. That might have been due to a lot of joking and loud chatting with the people in the kitchen and runners back there. We ordered Potato soup and Chicken noodle soup. These were along with a salad bar and a club sandwich. The salad bar was acceptable and it was fresh. This is where anything good ended. The bacon on the club sandwich was old, my wife removed it. The real issues are with the soups. The chicken noodle soup was brown, only warm and had a horrible smell as if it was reheated from 3 days ago. My wife had to spit it out upon the first taste. My Potato soup was warm and had an old taste to it. I sent both soups back. The staff offered to replace them with the same soup from the same pots. That was all that was offered. So we met a friend last night for dinner. And we decided Jason's Deli it is. it's a standby for when you just need a freaking good salad bar. This location was clean the staff was extremely nice. I have just had surgery so I was only able to have soup but oh my God the broccoli cheddar soup with out of this world. I really enjoy when I can get a cup of soup and it not need salt or pepper. Their selection of teas is always fabulous. I was enjoying my dinner company so much that I didn't even bother taking pictures of the salad bar or their food but they thoroughly enjoyed it. So it is obvious that the 4:00pm shift isn't the core crew. The girl that was running the cash register acted like we were an inconvenience to her. She saw us (my wife and I) come in and rolled her eyes and it took almost 5 minutes for her to acknowledge us after we stood in line, we were, at the time, the only people there. After she finally took our order, we struggled to find a seat. The dining area was in pretty bad shape, it looked as if the floor hadn't been mopped in a day and 75% of the tables had not been cleaned off. And we're not cleaned off while we were there. I always like going to Jason's deli for their salad bar, there's so many items to choose, from fruits to nuts and so many different salads with just about any topping you can think of, Fresh vegetables, cheeses, pickles, Olives and so many more along with crackers and muffins. I give this a pretty good rating based on the salad bar. There are a few places to go to find a decent salad bar, and this is one of them. I believe that they say they have 50+ different options when it comes to the salad bar. When I go I go for the salad. The kids like the hotdogs, but for me it is a decent priced salad with pretty much anything that you would want. Their Hummus is pretty good to try and they also have a bean salad that is unique. Plus if you have young children they have an ice cream machine that is included with whatever you purchase so the kids enjoy that. read more

Ordered online on a Saturday at noon. When I arrived to pick the order up I found the shop closed.

This place used to be quite good but recently the service, order accuracy, and food quality have declined. Today they got our order wrong, they were out of black current tea (no one bothered to make any) and the regular iced tea tastes like it was made a week ago - totally undrinkable. The person delivering the food said it was because they were slammed - with only half the tables in use. Also, it appears that fresh doesn't mean fresh anymore on the salad bar - the apples were in plastic sealed bags! I will see if I can attach a photo of that - couldn't believe it. I have always loved Jason's Deli, have eaten at them for years. It saddens me to see this locations service and quality drop so bad, and I know 90% has nothing to do with the brand, it's the poor quality coworkers they have beef forced to hire. Our whole family was there this past Sun, spent over $100 and watched as walked looked like bunch of high school new hires, play, good off, no idea how to work, the salad bar use to be awesome but watching these kids 1/2 way wipe down and leave more of a mess than they started, it took 3 to do one persons job, I feel sorry for the manager to have to hire theses type of kids but with no one else wanting to work and then having to pay over $12 for at best $3 worth of work. I've stopped here several times while traveling and it's become my go-to lunch spot on long drives. It's easily accessible from I-40 and located in a clean shopping center. The staff were incredibly thoughtful of COVID safety measures and were careful when preparing my food (I have a gluten intolerance). I really want to like Jason's Deli more than I actually do. On the surface what's not to like!? They have an amazing salad bar, lots of healthy & organic options (which feeds the way I like to eat), and who doesn't love FREE self serve ice cream at the end of a meal!? The reality is that they do offer all of these things, but the quality of the food that is delivered to your table is as generic as it can be. The food never tastes bad, but it also never makes me reconsider my opinion that it's just "okay". The staff is always friendly and helpful, but it can't make up for the downsides. I have Celiac and they were very good for replacing their gloves to make my sandwich. I had no reactions to anything so I appreciate the effort in making it easier for me. My French onion soup was awesome! However, my 1/2 deli club sandwich was a fried egg sandwich! Took it back, they gave me a sandwich off of another tray....hmm. It did not have any bacon on .
