We stopped for a sandwich for lunch Sunday. Had not eaten there in a while. We both ordered an Italian version of the sandwiches. They were terrible. The bread was tough and I could not taste any of the meat under all the bread. While the staff was young they were pleasant enough, however while eating, one of the sandwich makers kept brushing her hair out of her face with her gloved hand. Should have been up in a net. Is this really a five star review, nope more like a four and a half star. But I'm feeling generous. My first time at JJs, and I can say that the drive through was very fast. However I ordered the JJ gargantuan. And although it was stuffed full of meats and did not disappoint in that aspect there were a few notable issues with the sandwich. The good... The sandwich was exactly what I expected of gargantuan named sandwich. Everything was fresh, and the sandwich was dressed properly for the meat to bread ratio. The cold cuts were in fact cold. The bread was crusty enough to hold it all together. The vegetables were fresh. The price was reasonable for the size of the sandwich. The bad... The meat selection on my sandwich was not as described. Mine was mostly turkey where the description is made up of mostly hams. I had no capicola on mine at all and two thin slices of salami and hardly any roast beef. In other words it was an overly stuffed turkey sandwich. I got the oil and mayo, I detected no signs of vinegar at all. All in all it was a good sandwich and it was super fast to get which I do appreciate. This is a review on Jimmy John's in Maryville, Tn. Today I went by here to get a sandwich. I had never been there before. It was about 5 pm and I hadn't eaten anything all day. So I ordered a lil john ham. I think they call it a Lil Pepe. It just came with ham, lettuce, and tomato. I also wanted turkey so I ordered turkey which was extra money. I also ordered some of the freebies. Well to make a long story short, I didn't get the turkey that I paid extra for and I didn't get what I ordered on the freebies. They put stuff on there that I didn't order, which I could not and did not eat. The bread was hard. That was a waste of money. I'll take subway any day. Somehow JJ's manages to be a sandwich shop that has excellent, extremely fresh ingredients, yet still winds up being average. I used to order the "Big John," a sandwich that I discovered has only 2 slices of meat! I asked if that was the normal portion of meat on this sandwich and was told "yeah." In all regards, this sandwich was excellent: freshest bread, freshest toppings, etc. Unfortunately, a 5 star rating cannot be given for a sandwich with such a stingy portion of meat. I would have been willing to pay a higher price, for this already premium priced sandwich, for a reasonable portion of meat. Ran in here because my daughter was screaming in the car that she "had to go potty!" So we pulled over and ran inside. I asked the staff there if it was okay to use the bathroom or if I needed to purchase something. Every single person said "no, go ahead!" Then a gentleman with dreadlocks ran before my daughter and I, opened the bathroom door, and wiped down the toilet and flushed it before stepping aside. "She's a princess," he said. Even so, when they got a slow moment, everybody started in on cleaning. Even the men's restroom was very clean. Placed a delivery order on 8/29. After an hour, called to check status and spoke with the general manager, Valente "Symba" Burns, who apologized and stated I would not be charged for the late meal. Food showed up after an hour and a half and the delivery driver forgot my drink and said "I forgot it. I will be right back" and never showed. JJ still processed my card for the incomplete meal. After calling the store and speaking to Symba again on 8/31, he said he would have to email the area manager, Matt Ward, to issue the refund. I waited another 8 days and still no refund to find out on 9/8 it was never processed by Matt. Finally received an email from Matt on 9/12 with a "confirmation message" showing that the refund had been processed and could take 3-5 days. Still waiting for the refund. Follow up emails were sent on 9/20 and 10/4 and I am now being ignored. JJ will not receive any further business from me. read more

Really disappointed in our sub sandwiches the last two visits. Did you change your ingredients or quantity of ingredients per sandwich? They used to be filling enough, now it was mostly mayo and roll. Except -- on one sandwich it seemed to have a portion of the roll top scooped out & stuffed with a bit of lettuce. Why? I usually order from this Jimmy John's fairly often and I am often given excellent service. Today I had to wait over 50 minutes for my food. When I had called in regards to the whereabouts of my food over 30 minutes after I ordered it, the manager told me the driver had left with it 10 minutes prior. This Jimmy John's is less than five minutes away from my work. I had five minutes to eat my food, as I am not permitted to eat in my work space. I went in there expecting a sub shop that offers everything a firehouse and subway does. I was wrong. They don't offer near as much, which was a disappointment. Their employees were friendly and their subs tasted alright. The bread wasn't as soft and warm like I would prefer, however their subs taste a lot healthier than most other places. It is fairly expensive as well. If I was looking for a sub that had decent taste and didn't make me feel like I put a lot of garbage in my body, Jimmy John's would be in my top 3. I however don't go out looking for food that cost a decent amount and taste healthy. I like feeding my face with food that makes me feel somewhat guilty and makes me want to go to the gym to burn off the extra calories. The men's bathroom is what got them a 4 instead of a 3 for me.
