Pretty big place and a decent parking lot but I can see it getting full pretty fast, especially on weekends. We opted for the lunch menu and ordered the 1/2 sandwich and choice of soup or salad ($9.99). You can get the French onion soup (which I did) or the Caesar salad (daughter's choice) for a little more ($11.95) . We both got the roast beef and Swiss on sour dough bread. The combo was just right and the roast beef was good. Only thing the bread was regular sliced kind which didn't hold up well with the roast beef. It got a bit soggy and fell apart. The onion soup was pretty good- lots of onion with the dark toast and Swiss cheese on top. Good flavor. The Caesar salad was okay. We also got a side of the garlic French fries ($8.95) with chopped garlic and cheese sprinkled on top. It was good but they could put more garlic and cheese to amp it up more. Grandson got the kids waffle with egg and bacon ($5.50). Looked really good- I'd order it if I could. My daughter tells me the kids strawberry shortcake ($5.25) with strawberries on top of a butter biscuit and topped with whipped cream is darn good. I've only been to this place twice. The first time I went there with my father in law was this past Thursday. We went there about 12 ish in the afternoon. I had ordered their western bbq burger, and my father in law ordered the corned beef hash. The food was tasty, and the service was great. I would have given that day a 5 star review. Today, Saturday afternoon, at about 1:30, I brought my wife to enjoy the great food and service we had gotten a couple of days ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't the same wonderful experience we had a couple of days prior. The first disappointment was that we couldn't order lunch at 1:30. Wth?! Apparently, breakfast on the weekends is until 2 pm. Then they will serve lunch from 2 pm. I guess dinner is served from 5 pm. So breakfast is from 7am - 2pm. Lunch time is a 3 hour window. It's kind of a silly concept. Oh well, that's something you should consider if you want a late lunch. The second disappointment was the service. I think they were shot handed. They only had one waitress, and she was trying her best to be on top of things, but she was having a hard time managing 6 or so tables. People were waiting for refills of coffee and drinks, waiting for their checks, etc. Because we couldn't order from the lunch menu, I decided to try the traditional breakfast, and my wife had the chicken and waffles. My traditional breakfast was good, my wife's breakfast was just ok. The waffles seemed burnt, and the sauce for the chicken was just ok. The overall ambiance is ok, an old-time feel. The floor seems to dip in with every step of people who walk by the tables. Yes, shaking the tables a bit. It didn't matter if the person was small or big. Seems like the floor rafters and floor itself need to be replaced to make it sturdier. This place definitely can be really great with some changes and tweaks. Jay Berry's is very popular so be prepared to wait for some time when you do come here during the weekends. 1) Kathie's Special - My favorite dish I've tried so far! I don't know what's included in their formaggi sauce but it is delicious! 2) Stuffed Hash Browns - When you have a craving for hash browns, highly recommend! The hash browns are baked and have a really nice crunch to it. 3) Hot Tots - If you love tater tots, this is definitely the dish for you. This was a tasty dish but personally I probably wouldn't order it again as it was way too many tater tots, lol! 4) Bloody Marys/Mimosas - They only serve these brunch drinks during Saturdays and Sundays so you should order one...and they're only $4!! 5) Cinnamon Roll - OMG these things are GINORMOUS! The frosting they use tasted like it was made with cream cheese as it wasn't super sweet but one piece of cinnamon roll is more than enough to share amongst 4 people. We come here with our baby and the restaurant is very accommodating to families in general (high chair, own water cup, crayons+paper). The restaurant gives you a portable pager after you are on the waitlist so you can wait outside/in your car (there's not much room in the entrance hallway to wait inside, but plenty of parking outside). I have found my new breakfast place! Me and my fiancé used to love to go to Issaquah Café but after many many months of waiting sometimes 45 minutes to an hour for a table on the weekends, we decided we needed adventure out and try something new. Always when we pass by Jay berrys we've always said we need to try that place... Well, today we gave into our temptations. Got there about 9 o'clock and literally was seated five minutes later. Amazing breakfast menu. I had the biscuits and gravy with one à la cart pancake, my fiancé had three pancakes with a side of sausage and eggs, and my future mother-in-law had the chicken fried steak. When we got our food, everything looked amazing, I've had biscuits and gravy and past places, and it was so bland, the gravy had no sausage in it, and just tasted like flour. This sausage gravy was amazing! Had a little kick to it which I liked, and the biscuits were thick and fluffy. The pancake was by far the best pancake I've ever had... Not thin and flimsy, thick and fluffy and full of flavor. My fiancé is about 6 foot four and can eat a lot... He barely made it through half the stack of three pancakes and he had to throw in the white towel. My future mother-in-law said her chicken fried steak was cooked perfectly, and her eggs were good too. With tax and tip out the door came to a little over $70. We have found our new breakfast place and will be back. The service by Desiree was also impeccable, she was very attentive and never did we need to ask for anything... So if you're coming without the younger crew, I'd suggest sitting here to avoid the wait. The staff here is excellent. All I see are women running around maybe that's why they run such a great restaurant . Their chicken and waffles are amazing. Their skillets are delicious. Anything you get here is good. I haven't tried their lunch menu items yet. I always opt for breakfast. They have a full bar also so even if you're not in the lounge area, you can indulge in adult beverages from the bar. This is one of the best breakfast restaurants I've been to! There was a bit of a wait, but we were able to wait in the car because of the summoning system they use. It was very full and busy, and kinda cramped because they've crammed as many tables as possible in there -- understandably because the food and service is so good, everyone wants to go there! But the staff seemed adept at navigating the "obstacle course" without incident. There were 4 of us, and we were celebrating our delayed Christmas by bringing gifts to exchange. This meant that we needed a little extra space ... PLUS, one of us uses a walker, and that needed to be stowed someplace while we dined. The staff -- and even the other diners -- were all very cooperative and accommodating with our special circumstances. All the food was very delicious. We don't live in the area, but if/when we are in the vicinity in the future, we will try to get back to Jay Berry's! read more

Love this place! I usually go and sit in the bar area and eat breakfast or lunch with a Bloody Mary or beer or both. Have sports on and pull tabs so plenty of things to keep your mind occupied. Good signage on there as well. Also, have sat in the mains restaurant as well which is nice and ordered food to go. Their food is great! I have tried many different dishes and can't think of one I didn't like. And the service has always been good and quick and the people are nice. This place is simply a marvel to behold. Attentive staff who go out of their way to ensure food doesn't contain allergens or do not contain food(s) that may cause intolerances. Really a welcome sight especially to those with newly discovered food allergies. The decor is warm and inviting with the tables and chairs being a tad close to one another, but this is a small gripe. Food wise it's as if you flew to Texas as the portions are ginormous, which is wonderful to behold, but really makes you question the old adage of "eyes being bigger than one's stomach". Great flavor and great for those who want to take some home and have it for later, or for a meal during the week. I see that they also have lunch and dinner options, so I would be willing to partake in that as my family and I went for breakfast there.
