I called Corey regarding an emergency flooding situation at my apartment building. Corey was quick to respond and was there promptly within @ 20 minutes. He diagnosed the problem as a water heater which had burst. While he was there, he checked the water heater in the unit below which had also exceeded its service life. He proceeded to quote me $5000 for replacement of two 30 gallon heaters and supply lines and valves. Because I was in a bind and needed the problem resolved promptly I agreed. The job was completed the next morning with no further issues. When I later called two other very reputable plumbing companies on Yelp, they quoted the same job at $4200.00!! Due to the huge cost differential, I will not be using JB Plumbing for any further plumbing issues. When I brought the disparity to their attention, I got no response. Do not use this company in the future if you wish to pay a reasonable cost for repairs. I gave three stars because they did get the job done in the end, but I feel as if I paid more than I should have and did a lot of the work myself. I don't have a lot of confidence in the particular plumber who worked on my job and I wouldn't use this company again or recommend them. I had a shower head which suddenly started leaking. I called JB Plumbing on a Friday morning. The gentleman who answered the phone said he would come by between 2-5pm that afternoon. I had to leave for an appointment at 5:30 but had several people at the house to let him in since he seemed to be running late. He never called or showed up. I called again the next morning (no answer), left a voice mail and a message on their web page. He called me back shortly after, apologized for forgetting to put me on the schedule for Friday, said he was booked all that day but would come out on Monday. Someone else showed up Monday morning. Due to a lot of hard water build up, he had a very hard time doing so but was finally able to remove my old faucet handle. He took the part he needed to replace (cartridge) and went off to get one. He called to say he wasn't able to find one, said it was a discontinued part, and told me to check online for a new one. (In his defense, he told me that my 10 year old Danze faucet set was a special order of some kind and it didn't use an interchangeable cartridge like most faucets do, so that was why he couldn't get the part himself). He also told me to soak my old faucet handle and trim plate in CLR overnight to clean off the hard water build up so he'd be able to put it back on later. I was a little concerned about the CLR so only let it soak for about an hour. Still way too long - it took the finish right off my rubbed bronze fixtures. I should have known better, but...! I was able to find the replacement cartridge I needed and had it shipped to me overnight. It came in on Wednesday and the plumber came by to install it that night. He got the cartridge in but was unable to use my old faucet because about an inch of the old cartridge had been broken off inside the old faucet handle when he'd forced it off the wall on Monday. He said he could drill it out, which he did. It still wouldn't work because now, of course, it was no longer threaded so there was no way for the handle to stay screwed onto the cartridge. (Even I knew that was not going to work!). I went online and ordered a new trim kit (faucet and trim plate) which the plumber said he'd stop by and put on as soon as it came in. The part took a week to come in and when I called him to come mid day on Thursday, he said he was booked that day and the next and couldn't come before Monday. Well, I'd been over two weeks without a shower at this point and I wasn't happy. I said that wouldn't work for me, was anyone else available to come that day, or could I possibly YouTube it and do it myself? He said no, it was his responsibility and he would come first thing this morning (Friday). OK! He showed up at 8:30, as promised, and installed the new kit. Unfortunately, the trim plate did not fit tightly against the wall and left about and1/8" gap around the top half. I asked "isn't that going to leak water into the wall". He said yes. I asked if he could caulk it and he said yes and promptly did. He said it would take about 2 hours to dry. Yay! Done. Nope. A couple of hours after he left I went in to check it. For some reason (again, stupid woman), I had assumed that the white caulking he put on it would dry clear. No. I had a nice bright ring of white caulking around my dark brown faucet and beige/brown tile wall. I texted him to verify...yes, it was white caulking and would not dry clear. I lucked out. It was no way near dry in two hours so I was able to easily wipe it all off. Then, off to Home Depot for clear caulking I went, to redo it myself. I know people forget occasionally, so the fact that my Friday appointment didn't happen until Monday was just a little annoyance. I know the plumber who came out to do the job may or may not have been able to get the faucet off without breaking off half the cartridge inside it, requiring me to purchase a new trim set for $100+. I know he's a guy, so what does he know about CLR. I know it didn't hurt me to spend half a day on the internet looking for and buying parts. I know it wasn't his fault that it took a week to get the replacement trim kit (unless I never should have needed one in the first place?), but shouldn't he have known that white caulking with a brown fixture on beige/brown walls was a total NO WAY?? I'm an older woman who knows nothing about plumbing so I put my faith in the plumber and just went with the flow. I guess I could have asked more questions or done more research, but that's why I thought I was hiring a professional. But damn, two weeks without a working shower is a real pain in the ass. And now I still have to wait 12 more hours for the darned caulking to dry. read more

Johnny strikes again!!! I called Johnny because our kitchen sink was backed up he showed up and fixed it so fast. I also asked him to fix our toilet. A plumber from Adeedo said the flange was broken and it was going to cost us $2400 (he also said he needed to cut the tile, cut the pipe and obtain a permit from the city. Johnny pulled up the toilet and saw the flange was not broken the bolt needed to be replaced and a few other things for the toilet were replaced. For the 3 items fixed today came out to under $600!!! When Adeedo was trying to charge us $2400 for 1 item to be fixed! I'm grateful for Johnny and his great integrity! He's got a great work ethic. Today we we heard and noticed that we were leaking water from somewhere near the front of our home and we immediately worried about how much this was going to cost us and whether or not we were going to find an honest plumber so we called a couple of plumbers and JB plumbing were the first to respond. They came over a couple hours later gave us a free quote they quoted us much less than the other plumbers we contacted and they were able to do fix the small leak in a little mire than an hour. Last week a couple of greedy rats ate through the wires on my water heater and I had no hot water. we called another company (which will remain nameless) who said they would order the part and come back in 5 days to fix it. At my house I have renters and they sometimes have needs. Well I got the call that my water heater is spitting only cold water out, no heat. Ughh, I live out of state, what to do? My existing company has been flaking on me out of Glendora so I read the reviews of this new place here in San Dimas and gave them a call. I usually don't try companies that I know nothing about, but decided to give JB a call. They answered right away on the phone and said they could have a technician onsite before end of day. Awesome. Technician came onsite, first replaced thermal coupler and system still did not come on, this was like 150 bucks. We found that my water heater was pretty old, the kind you can still light, so I decided to replace. The tech surprised me by saying they had so many at the shop on hand for emergency replacements that he could tap into. I told him to go ahead. Well 2 hours later, they had a new one in and the job was done. My renters verified that hot water come out immediately everywhere in the house, was a cool upgrade and done so quickly. I had a clogged drain. I had a plumber come out from a different company to unclog my drain for only $99. This plumber is said to smell good but I didn't notice anything special. He was unable to do it and explained to me that I actually had a fitting which was collapsed and needed to be repaired. The quote from this plumber seemed high, requiring a wall and some of the floor to be ripped out so I called JB plumbing. I explained to them when they arrived, what I thought I knew to be true and wanted a quote for comparison. They suggested I let them try and unclog the drain first and so I said fine. They unclogged my drain. Saved me a small fortune and didn't charge much. I plan on having some renovations done soon and will be having JB plumbing replace my mainline and repiping my house. I wanted to identify the source first then get my insurance on board, I was very clear about this when I made the appointment with Jeff....so I sent them to my fathers house who is an senior in his eighties and the plumber told him it would now cost him two hundred and twenty five dollars for him to tell my father where the leak was....I called the owner and asked him what he had to do different from the advertised price of ninety five dollars to the two hundred and twenty five....he couldn't answer me and finally said he couldn't do the job because they don't detect leaks under concrete...that is so contradictory to said earlier statement......so his plumber left then as my father was trying to take a shower he realized the plumber had shut off the water and left.....so I have to wonder.....was he being malicious or just plain incompetent...either way no good.......DO NOT USE...... read more
