My hot water tank was leaking so I called Reichert and Sons to come out and help. As usual, they were extremely nice when I called. I paid the service fee of $175 and someone came out the next day. The technician inspected my unit and told me that my pipping was getting old and I could replace the pipes or eventually replace the hot water tank. I asked him how much it would cost for each option and he said he would need to talk to the main office and they would send me a quote and I could decide. The next day I received a $4,000 quote to replace the hot water tank. I called to ask about the quote to just fix the pipes. The woman on the line said she would need to speak to her manager and get back to me. Two days later they sent me the same $4,000 replacement only quote with the last sentence changed to "Tank can not be repaired - replace is the only option." This is not what the technician told me. To be thorough, I called a different company who came out and told me the tank isn't that old and I should replace the pipping. He fixed the pipping for $300 and that was over 4 months ago with no problems since. I am glad I went to a different vendor because trying to cheat people out of money is a horrible way to do business. I haven't asked for my $175 service fee back because I don't want to communicate with unethical people. If you do go to Reichert & Sons, I suggest you get a second opinion.

On April 8th, I met on-site with Tyler to discuss flattening and elevating the basement ductwork so my general contractor could finish the ceiling. He assured me it could be done and issued Estimate #12793 for $6,800, which I paid in full immediately via ACH deposit. After a long delay, their crew finally showed up in late July. Unfortunately, the work performed was completely unsatisfactory. They failed to flatten or elevate the ductwork, leaving the ceiling height unchanged. My general contractor confirmed on-site that the ceiling cannot be finished with the work they did. I have video footage of the completed work and the crew acknowledging the issue to my contractor before leaving. The workers promised to speak with Tyler directly, but it has now been days with zero response or communication from the company. Taking payment in full, failing to complete the agreed scope, and then ignoring the customer is unacceptable. I expect the work discussed and paid for to be completed properly without additional charges, or I will be escalating this with state regulatory authorities. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere.
