It was popping when we got there, so we had about a 25 minute wait. It took them a little while to take our order, but once they did, the food was made and delivered in a timely manner. I, of course, got the cinnamon roll pancakes short stack, and they were absolutely divine. No need for butter or syrup, they were perfectly delicious as is, cinnamon swirl included?!? and icing glaze as well. Another favorite was the chile relleno omelette - the poblano pepper on top added some smokiness along with the steak, and the sour cream and cheese cooled it down. Bacon and canadian bacon on point. A solid breakfast spot! Don't miss out on the cinnamon roll pancakes! *Cinnamon Roll pancakes, short stack *Cowboy Breakfast: eggs, biscuits with country gravy, bacon *Chile Relleno Omelette: fajita steak, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, & cheese, topped with ranchero sauce, sour cream, green onion, feta cheese *Pancakes & Eggs: 2 cinnamon roll pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage *Sides: grilled ham, bacon, hash browns

Guenther House ended up being one of my favorite stops in San Antonio…read more Of course, the food was excellent. We had breakfast tacos, waffles, coffee, and a few other breakfast items, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was especially good. What surprised me most was how much more this place is than a restaurant. The historic home, museum rooms, gift shop, bakery counter, and beautifully maintained grounds make it feel like a destination rather than just a place to grab breakfast. The atmosphere reminded me of visiting a family home that has been lovingly preserved for generations. There is so much history throughout the property, yet it still feels warm and welcoming instead of formal. I was also impressed by the gift shop. It's packed with Pioneer products, baking mixes, Texas-made goods, and unique souvenirs. The bakery case alone is worth checking out because the desserts are enormous and looked amazing. We happened to visit on a rainy morning, so there was no wait. After seeing the property and experiencing the food, I completely understand why people are willing to line up on busy days. If you're visiting San Antonio, I would recommend giving yourself extra time here. Come for breakfast, stay to explore the house, browse the gift shop, and walk the grounds. It's a place that feels uniquely Texan and unlike anywhere else I've visited.

Be prepared for a wait since seating is first-come, first-served and the restaurant gets quite busy. Fortunately, the wait didn't feel long at all because we were able to explore the surrounding historic neighborhood while waiting for our table. Once seated, there was a bit of a wait for the food ( hence 4 stars), but it was well worth it. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. Our server, Martin, was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. The house coffee was a standout. It had a unique blend of spices that gave it a rich, flavorful taste unlike a regular cup of coffee. For food, we ordered the sweet waffle, and it was rich and buttery. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and equally delicious. The biscuits were soft, buttery, and flaky, while the gravy was flavorful. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Bexar's Best Belgian Sweets! A little slice of Belgium here…read morein San Antonio. This place is located in a strip shopping center off Huebner. Stepping in, you know that it's legit. Check out all the gilded frames, antique oil paintings, and fancy furniture! This is such a great place to come and relax, hang out and admire the decorations, and enjoy decadent Belgian food. The Belgian waffles are handmade there. They're so good that they could eaten dry, but why do that when they offer Nutella or strawberries. The mousse has been a long favorite of mine. It's rich, smooth, creamy, fulfilling. My only complaint about this place is that they only offer Neuhaus Chocolate as their sole Belgian chocolate. There's so many good ones, but I wish they'd offer Leonidas. It's worth mentioning that the imported Belgian chocolates are the only things that they're serving that they didn't make there on site.

I did a "make your own" a waffle with Nutella, strawberries and fresh homemade whipped cream. Trust me, get the whipped cream on whatever you order!! The waffles were so warm and almost caramelized on the outside and warm and fluffy inside! My bother got the La Dame Noire and I'm not a big chocolate person but he said it was incredible! I would highly recommend this place and I can't wait to go back earlier in the day to try their lasagna and other pastries!
