Dishonest!!! Purchased a motor and had it installed by them for the warranty a couple days later had a oil leak from the oil pan took it back and had them look at it. Was told the pan needed to be resealed so they resealed and gave it back about 6 months later started to leak again . Took it to a "honest" mechanic and found out they sold me a motor with a crack in it !! The dishonest part is my new mechanic showed me where they pulled the pan and put gasket sealer in the inside crack so it would be hidden from outside!!! DO NOT GO TO JDM La Habra . read more

Purchased a used transmission from JDM was told all transmissions come in less than 60k miles , these looked very rustic and dirty, either way its used , first transmission was defective and not shifting , nonetheless sometimes that's expected, it took over a week for JDM to agree to replace it , it was like pulling teeth. JDM swears by their product and states no way it was defective, after agreeing to pick up another transmission I stated I cannot pay labor a third time if the second transmission was no good , JDM stated oh well. And offered to install it for 1200.00 . You guessed it seconds transmission has no reverse, according to JDM it is installer error, after consulting 4 different transmission technicians , they all concluded its a faulty transmission. Nonetheless I still don't have a good transmission and JDM is offering a refund but will not offer me my core back or any remedy for this mishap . They might have some good products but customer service alone is not worth coming here. I will pay a few extra dollars for my convenience and for customer service when things don't go as planned. Save yourself the hassle. read more

Dean and Hansass Mike , now tells me I will not be getting paid for 6 hrs work of $12 hr. Now they refuse to give me my check . It's not a friendly place or safe environment to work in. I highly discourage anyone to come to this business. I needed an engine and I came to this place for that. They sold me the engine I was looking for, took it back home, and had my mechanic install it. Turned out the engine wasn't operational anymore, so I called the business to ask for a refund. They said it was ok, and I took it back only for them to find reasons to not affect the return and refund. They started making claims that they were unsure it was their engine and that they had to make sure it still worked. Obviously, it was the engine they sold me, and, obviously, it didn't work because I was returning it. I left the engine with them and they didn't return my money until after they checked if it was working. Why else would i have gone through the trouble of returning an engine? It was their responsibility to label or take the serial number of their inventory and verify that the engines were working, since they're holding off on refunds for stuff they sell you that doesn't work. They gave me part of my money, because they kept $400 of it for no reason. They literally just took $400 from me for nothing in return. It is all just a headache with this business. Be careful what you buy here, because if you find yourself needing your money back for a broken, damaged, or inoperable part, you just might risk not getting all your money back. read more

JDM obviously gets solid reviews when the items they ship meet customer expectations - which seems to be quite often. In my case, the ideal situation did not occur. The part failed. This, of course, was not JDMs fault or intention ... after all, they didn't manufacture the part, themselves. Now, when the part failed, my fear was that JDM may not stand by the product and just tell me that i was out of luck ... but that was not the case. When i contacted them, they were open-minded to finding an agreeable resolution ... and they did just that and took good care of me. This is what impressed me the most, and it's a rare form of customer service this day and age, when a company keeps their word and goes out of their way to make things right. kudos to JDM! read more

Horrible experience! Bought an engine and all they are good at is taking your money. I was told I would get a receipt by e-mail, didn't and had to call back the next afternoon to have it sent. Was told I would get tracking info as the engine was being shipped to CO, didn't and had to call the NEXT day to get that info. The wrong address was put on the shipping paper work, good thing the trucking Co called me because I had to have it sent where there was a lift truck to unload and that was discussed when I bought the engine. We decided to do a cylinder leak down test and found that two of the six cylinders leakage was unacceptable, 20% and 30%. When we called about it we were told by the "tech" that WAS acceptable leakage, my mechanic begged to differ. After some time arguing the facts it got a little heated and the "tech" said to send it back for a refund. Looking at JDM Engine Pro's website I found that there is a 30% restocking fee plus I had to ship it back. After further reading they have a "foul language policy" on the phone, gee I wonder why that's in there! Because they talk to you like you're an idiot. So we decided to repair the two cylinders with the problem only to find that it was the wrong motor and it wouldn't work anyway. After a partial tear down of the engine I knew they weren't going to refund my money or very little of it so I just ate it and chocked it up to experience. I ended up rebuilding the one that came out of the car and it cost me about $800 more than the junk that this place sells. Buyer beware! This place is a joke. read more

I bought the engine from this business back in May 2012, after having the engine installed by a mechanic he found out that the engine was defective. When I tried to return the engine to the business that's when the problems started. First, they promised to send a new engine to the mechanic's shop and after two weeks he still didn't receive the engine. Second, they told me to return the engine so I can receive my money back and when I got there the person in charge seemed to have a change of heart and didn't want to return my money and was very rude and impolite to me. After many, many tries to collect my money from the business I had to end up in small claims court to finally get my money back. If I could give this business a lower rating I would in a heartbeat. I have never had to deal with such unprofessional behavior when trying to purchase/return something that didn't work properly. Safe to say that I will never ever go back to that place of business again nor will I recommend it to my worst enemy. read more

I bought a H23 JDM engine off them over a year ago, the engine has been running fine since. The engine did have a pretty nasty oil leak coming from what looked like a cam bearing. It ran down all the way till the transmission and still leaks till this day. Nothing too serious but the engine runs and sounds good. Would buy from them again. read more
