Dr. Wu is by far the best dentist I have ever visited, hands down. I found her on Yelp over 8 years ago when, a month before my wedding, I suddenly started having tooth pain. After a horrible experience previously with another dentist, I was really nervous. Dr. Wu was able to see me immediately and helped me through the situation with expert advice and a caring manner that eased my fears, and my pain! Dr. Wu and her staff truly care about their patients. Each of them greeted me by name, every visit, were attentive to my comfort, answered my questions, and never tried to rush a visit or push unnecessary services. And, even many years later, Dr. Wu always asked me about my (now) husband, and growing family -- that's how I know I was never "just a number" to Dr. Wu. Without a doubt... I like Dr. Wu. She is, after all, VERY likable... competent yet still being relate-able. I'm always happy to see her. BUT LET'S FACE IT: She's probably not who you spend the most time with. Well, at least in my case... (my cavities have long been filled ages ago). So I'm usually sitting in the chair for the hygienist. I've been to this dental office about maybe about six times now and hands down Mr. Charles Campbell is the best in the business. He's helped clean my teeth twice now and is great. I can literally feel how thorough (*scrap, scrap*) he is and seems to put a whole lot more care into the whole process. My first review. Before April of this year, I hadn't seen a dentist in about seven years. I used yelp to find Dr. Jennifer Wu and wasn't disappointed. After requesting an appointment, I received a personal welcome email letting me know that I would be contacted to set up a time. Fortunately, my time away from the dentist wasn't too harmful. No cavities! (daily flossing saved me) The office was recently remodeled and the equipment is clean and up-to-date. Dr. Wu clearly explains each step as she goes so you don't have to wonder what's happening in your mouth. The staff is also very friendly and professional. I needed a second opinion just like Autumn M. below, about some dental work my current dentist said was necessary. We have Blue Cross HMO and it's difficult to change dentists. I guess I was looking for a reason. I was scheduled an appointment (free!) about 3 weeks out. Dr. Wu is busy. She examined me and xrayed the area where my current dentist said I needed a crown. I love Dr. Wu's digital xray. So fast, no waiting. Although the xray didn't show anything, she probed and did find a hidden cavity. Vindicating my current dentist. I feel better now that the original diagnosis was correct, but a little disappointed that I couldn't get the "ammunition" to switch to Dr. Wu. She was wonderful. Excellent dentist and all around great office; in both professionalism and bedside manner. My wife and I both go here, and I have no idea what the last post was all about. It is very clean and very modern. The hygienist that did my teeth was great, and everything my wife has had done has been nothing less than exceptional. My wife had a crown done (just a temp so far), and has absolutely NO threshold for pain. Dr Wu's gentle touch and knowledge made this the best visit we have had to the dentist. I've been coming to see Dr. Wu for several years now, and have never been disappointed. I've been here to be treated from anything to a simple cleaning, to teeth whitening to a crown or even an emergency filling. The service you get will be second to none. What really struck me was that Dr. Wu is very understanding and really tries hard to accomodate your needs. Case in point, I've had a really filling replaced in the past because that tooth was bothering me for quite some time. Well she filled it, but it took several shots of novacaine to numb the area. I went back to her again because the tooth was still bothering me, eventually needing a crown. The thing that really impressed me was that she remembered my needs and that I needed several shots of novacaine to numb up. It's great when someone remembers your needs. Charles, (the hygienist) is a stickler for clean teeth. No second rate job here. He really gets in there and scrubs and scrapes every nook and cranny. Everytime I leave, it's hard getting over that "slimy" feeling on my teeth because they're so glass smooth. Don't take my word for it, go and see for yourself. This past Thanksgiving, I broke a rather large filling eating almonds. Dr. Wu was able to squeeze me in on a Monday morning. In the time it takes to boil ramen, I was in and out. The filling was replaced with lighting quickness. Kim was assisting Dr. Wu, and I've got to say that she must be telepathic. No seriously. Dr. Wu asked for some instrument and Kim handed to her. But it seemed like Kim predicted that the instrument might be the wrong one (wrong size, cavity in my tooth might have been deeper than she initially thought), so Kim had the "correct" sized instrument ready in hand. So when Dr. Wu said can you give me (blah blah blah) it was already in Kim's hand waiting for Dr. Wu, to which her response was "Oh you already have it." It's quite obvious that this place runs like a well oiled machine. But what makes this place so outstanding is that they remember you and take good care of you as a real person, rather than just a number or even a $. Yeah they might not be the cheapest, but you do get what you pay for. And when it comes to something like your teeth, why would you settle???? read more

Everyone was extremely nice and efficient. I showed up for my scheduled appointment on time and was not made to wait very long. I hate showing up on time/early for my appointment and still made to wait. I don't normal enjoy going to the dentist but I think I may have found 'THE one' that I will return to! While I could see that Dr. Wu had a million things to do; she took the time to explain everything and made sure I got to ask any questions before proceeding. Mr. Campbell was my dental hygienist, he was very personable. He even keeps a head/neck pillow to offer patients to use as he gets to work on your teeth. I'm an adult but I love that got to choose a flavored polish instead of the standard boring mint I am accustomed to getting at other practices. I recommend the raspberry flavor ;). Bottom line is that they're not pushy and won't try to sell you things you don't need! They are friendly and very patient, give them a try! NOTE: they charge you a fee if you do not cancel/reschedule an appointment you know you are going to miss. This is fair as this is a business and they are extremely busy; it would not give them enough time to fill that slot. My Wife and I have been going to Dr Wu for the last three years and I have never once regretted the change. The newly remodeled office looks great while incorporating high tech equipment. My old dentist didn't even use one computer while Dr Wu is using technology in every examination room. Her personality is always upbeat and always makes you feel comfortable even right before she is about to fill that cavity. They recently moved their office next door and it looks much nicer! Clean, spacious, and calm feeling. Nice that they even light scented candles in the rooms. Makes you feel more relaxed. Good selection of magazines too. The staff are all professional, but personable and friendly. Even though I've had different dental hygienists every time, all have been pretty good. One of them encouraged me that I should come in every 4 months since he noticed that my work paid for 3 cleanings a year. I wouldn't have known if he didn't mention it so that was helpful. Haven't had any billing problems anymore. Cindy and the front staff have been on top of things. I especially like that they send email appointment reminders, which is convenient. read more

I've been to Jennifer Wu's office three times now, and I've been very happy with my visits each time. I like that the office is fairly modernized, with new digital x-rays and computers in each patient area. I get email reminders before my appointments which is really helpful when the appointments are 6 months apart. Charles has been my hygienist each time. He's very friendly and talkative, and actually pauses after asking me a question to give me a chance to answer. He remembers certain things we've talked about even though it's 6 months in between meetings, which is nice. He also takes time to explain what he's doing when I ask. Although I've moved a bit further from their office recently, I still think I'll keep making the trips there. read more

Dr. Wu is great! After not seeing a dentist for a few years, I came in knowing that I had cavities to be filled. Dr. Wu was helpful and explained everything thing. Her office is clean, inviting, and friendly. My visits were all on time and she helped me make sure that I got an appointment before I left for school again. She is super efficient without being rushed. She got through half a dozen cavities and replaced a few old fillings in great time. She constantly communicates with you and with her dental assistant, Kim. Her new suite is great. Lots of open space and room. They utilize the space well and have computer screens in front of you. Dr. Wu was able to pull up my x-rays, explain to me what she was looking for, and gave me tips to prevent further cavities. I definitely recommend Dr. Wu as a dentist. read more

I have been a patience of Jennfer's for several years now. In that entire time, I am very pleased with the level of service and quality of work that I have received. I am one of those individuals that is very weary of small businesses because they often try to oversell you extra services to make more money. But in the entire time I have been a patient here, they have not done so. Their level of service is top notch, I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my appointment, and I am super happy with the quality level of their service. What can I say that hasn't been said? We've been patients of Dr Wu for over 6 years when she had a smaller practice next door. Since then, she's expanded to a much bigger office space. All the hygienist are great! Very professional and friendly. Charles, Yen, and Maggie to name a few have all cleaned my teeth. And yes, I found her through yelp after moving back to sunnyvale. But back then, she only had 17 reviews or so. My review is long overdue. We had some small issues with billing a couple years back, but we resolved them with Dr Wu herself, as this is her business and she actually cares about her patients. Recently I broke a front tooth while surfing and I did not have a dentist to call. The first office I called was completely booked solid but they recommended Dr Jennifer Wu. I called Dr Wu's office and they were able to schedule me for an exam the next day. Since I was leaving for a trip, they scheduled an appointment to put a crown the following day. The procedure took about an hour and a half and Dr Wu and her assistant did a wonderful job. Now my tooth look even better than before. I am very grateful to Dr Wu and her team for their kindness and professionalism before, during and after the procedure. this review is so long overdue! I've been going to Dr. Wu for the almost two years now, ever since I first moved to South Bay, and I couldn't be more happy with going to her as my dentist. Every single experience I've had there has been so pleasant, and everyone thinks I'm weird for it, but I actually look forward to going to the dentist now! Dr. Wu and all of her assistants are always super nice! Dr. Charles has been the assistant helping me the last few times, and he's soo genuinely kind and helpful. They explain everything that they're doing step-by-step (which I really reassuring, especially because you can't see what's going on!) without wasting any time, and just do a great job overall. I'm always really impressed by how thorough yet efficient they are - which I appreciate so much because I usually go first thing in the morning right before I head into work. Dentists are scary. At least that's what I thought for most of my life until I started coming here (for about 3+ years now). Since most of my visits were routine cleanings, I've been seen by Charles, the dental hygienist more than Jennifer Wu herself and he's just amazing at what he does, really friendly and will put you at ease (casting aside my previous fear of dentists). He seems to take interest in building relationships with his clients; always has a good story to share or to hear one of yours. I found Dr. Wu through Yelp when I was looking for a dentist with high ratings. My original dentist really messed up my teeth and I lost alot of trust in him. I emailed Dr. Wu and got a response the next day. She agreed to see me for a free consultation and it was an extremely pleasant visit. I found her to be friendly, personable, and she will answer your email within 24 hours. I'm glad that I have found her and I plan to recommend her to anyone looking for a good dentist. I've been coming here for a few years and it's always a great experience. I will be the first to say that I hate going to the dentist, but going to Dr. Wu's is not bad at all. Recently I went in for a cleaning, and Michelle did the cleaning. She is super nice, and more importantly, gentle with her cleaning. I used to dread going in....since I don't floss much and I know my teeth are "dirty" and need a lot of scraping. When i was done, my gums didn't hurt and the process was painless. OH, and my teeth felt super smooth and clean. I actually had to go in the next day since i chipped a tooth and needed a crown. Dr. Wu was able to get me in ASAP. I met with Dr Minh and she took great care of me. They kept making sure I was comfortable (did I need a break, did I need some water, did I need a cough drop). I mean this is the dentist, not a spa right?! I watched as Dr. Minh and the "technician" "nurse" (I don't know what you call her) worked on designing my new tooth. As an engineer, I have to say the technology of doing this and manufacturing the tooth onsite was pretty amazing....and fast. Thanks for the great care and service. read more

Dr. Wu and Dr. Minh are both professional, nice and definitely 5-star. However, when it comes to insurance, you need to be careful. I was willing to keep going back when my new insurance was out of network. I didn't mind paying for whatever was not covered by insurance (even just preventive checkup and cleaning). I even drove from mid-peninsula down to sunnyvale because I didn't want to switch dentist. But my experience dealing with the staffs from the last couple months was totally a show-stopper. I saved money in FSA to pay for my dental cost last year. The money expires on 3/31 this year so I kept calling if the insurance has cleared the payment so I can pay for the rest with my FSA money. All I got was "we haven't heard anything back yet" and I had to call the insurance company, which told me "we already send the check long time ago". My money eventually expired since I got no other medical expenses. When I went for my cleaning in May, they told me "Oh, you have an outstanding balance of three hundred something from the work last year. How would you like to pay for it?" Not that I can't afford the expense, but it doesn't mean I don't mind throwing my money down the drain. I do appreciate Dr. Wu and Dr. Minh's work. But I guess it's time to find somewhere else. read more

This review is long overdue as the five stars are well-deserved. Dr. Wu is good for sure, but this review is mostly for my hygienist, Yen Ho. Due to moves and insurance changes, I've had many hygienists over the years, but Yen Ho is by far my absolute FAVORITE! She takes her time and is very thorough. I like my cleanings to be a bit on the "rough" side and she was able to use the right amount of pressure for me, and she remembers this every time I visit (she noted it in my records). Don't let the word "rough" scare you...she can do gentle, too; the roughness was by request. I actually enjoyed each of my cleanings with Yen. Unfortunately, I have moved out of state (again), so I will definitely miss Yen! My husband and my son each had a different hygienist at Dr. Wu's office, and they were happy with each of theirs as well, so it seems that Dr. Wu has high hiring standards. We would definitely use them again if we were to ever move back in the area. read more

5/5 Stars - Best Dentist in South Bay. Short story, Dr. Wu is the #1 dentist I have ever found given her quality of work, bedside manner, and genuine commitment to her patients and practice. Dentist: Dr. Wu is amazing. I've been to more than 20 dentists and she is the best BY FAR.She is very friendly and personable and treats her patients as extended family members. She is also very patient and takes time to explain different care options and approaches and does not try to push specific treatment plans. Her dental work is extremely high quality (I've had general cleanings, filings, root canals, crowns) and routinely gets compliments from friends and family. Even another dentist! Team and Assistants: Friendly, professional, patient, helpful. A great team! Although I am especially partial to Kim. She has been there a few years and is so helpful, so patient, and so friendly it is clear she loves her job. Facility: Very clean and modern (at least on the inside...), but also very warm and inviting. Tranquil even? Always makes me relaxed (as much as can be in a dentist office). Equipment: I'm no dentistry expert, but Dr. Wu seems to have very modern equipment and tools and techniques. Things like 3D tooth-mapping technology. Very comfortable dentist chairs. Email and text notification for appointments. Really nice to go to a health professional and have many modern conveniences... Conclusion: I've already referred one of my best friends to Dr. Wu after he heard me me raving about her. Now I'm doing this Yelp review. So yes, you should go! read more

I went to Dr. Wu for a cleaning after reading the reviews here and was pleased to find that the reviews were absolutely right. Everyone in Dr. Wu's office is friendly and seems to really enjoy what they do. Today I went back to have two fillings put in. Dr. Wu and her assistant explained every step of the procedure and were so gentle (and so quick!) that the whole thing was completely painless and took less than 40 minutes. I'll be moving out of state in a few months and making occasional trips back to the Bay Area for work, and I like Dr. Wu so much that I plan to arrange my trips to coincide with my appointments so I won't have to find a new dentist. read more

Ever since a traumatizing dentist experience at the impressionable age of 5, I have loathed the slightest idea of going to the dentist. But, after moving to the area in summer '07, I figured it was time to get the ole' chompers checked out. My cleaning and consultation were as pleasant as I'd ever had. Dr. Wu's staff is top notch. They quickly put me at ease and made for a comfortable and painless visit. Dr. Wu's office is also up to snuff in the tech arena. The Xrays are all digital, and any file can be instantly pulled up from any room to make things easy for everyone. After my cleaning, Dr. Wu came in for a consultation. She has a friendly way about her that instantly makes you feel nice and comfy. To my chagrin, I had two cavities that needed filling. And that leads me to today... after two years of leeching off of Yelp, I finally signed up just to give Dr. Wu the 5-star review she deserves. I've had plenty of cavities filled in my day and never had an experience as easy and painless as today. I walked in, was of course greeted by an exceptionally kind hygienist, and quickly prepared for the procedure. Dr. Wu saw me immediately, got me all numbed up (again, painless) and then made quick work out of my pernicious pockets of decay. She explained what was going on at every step, making sure everything was comfortable on my end, and finished without a hitch. There was zero pain or discomfort at any point in the process. Dr. Wu: Given the location and small size of the teeth and root canal, I wouldn't recommend a crown at this time but I'll put a watch on it.
