Wanting to be responsible, we decided to contact them for the service. When the technician arrived, the heater was working, but a few minutes later, it stopped. What a coincidence! The young technician remarked on how fortunate we were that he was there to diagnose the issue. He inquired about the age of the unit, and when we told him it was 22 years old, he said it was no surprise that it had stopped working. He proceeded to check the unit and listed several problems: it needed a new ignitor ($458), a cleaning of the blower ($510), a new blower motor ($1,100), and a new control board ($1,376). The total for all of this came to $3,444! He then suggested that instead of spending that money on repairs, we should consider investing in a completely new unit that his company could install for about $25,000. We told him we would think about it. Afterward, we decided to call Fairview Heating and Air Conditioning. They sent out Keanu, a nice, intelligent, and honest young man. We explained our issue with the heater not functioning. Keanu quickly removed the back of the unit and, within seconds, said, "I know why your unit isn't working. The gas lever is turned off!" We were shocked--how could that have happened? I immediately turned on the gas valve. When Keanu then checked out the unit, everything cycled properly and he was able to verify that everything was working normally -- just like it was before the big company's visit. Keanu was very knowlegable and explained to us -in terms we could actually understand- how our system works. Needless to say, we have found ourselves a new heating and air conditioning company!

We ended up using them as we thought we had a good feel from them and the price happened to be the one right in the middle. Mistake. Fast forward to 2023 and suddenly there is no more cool air. Uh oh. After asking around and speaking to Mike finally someone came out to check it out and long story short filled it with freon and was told to monitor for a leak. Well it worked great all summer long but by this summer no more cold air. Here's where the problem starts. In 2023 there was a little hemming and hawing about coming out to fix because they were busy and said we were out of warranty which isn't true. Now in 2024 we faced the same thing only worse. As a single woman I tend to get more of the runaround from male businesses, I'm also going to school and working, so pretty busy and asked my Dad to contact him. We got a date, June 20th, on the books for them to come out and fix the leak etc. Well June 19th rolls around, and I'm told the next day appointment is to be cancelled due to a Covid out break at a facility they are under contact with. Ok. Well i was going out of town. So I was told just text when I'm back. No, with a dog and 3 kids this needs to be on the books. So I'm asked for 7/3 which I can't do and schedule for 7/1. On the 1st I'm told they aren't coming again, only this time it's because they didn't finish their Friday or weekend work. But he'll be here 7/3, never took it off the calendar. Suspicious of not ever actually scheduling the appointment on the 1st much? Well guess what its 7/3 and I sent a text and my dad called and no show. No response. Ghosted. This was literally as short as I could make this review. There many details to the interaction in 2023 and 2024 that could be spoken about but you get the point. They don't care about the residential units and people they've worked with or following through on warranties. It's not about integrity or being a business of its word. For Black Diamond It's all about the contracts they have with big companies or developments and money. We will be complaining to states licensing board and BBB.

Initial symptoms were the worse - a bad compressor. It turned out that both the running and starting capacitors went bad simultaneously even though one of them tested OK with the tester. He replaced both caps and the unit is back in business blowing as cold as ever. I highly recommend Eric with Integrity Air & Heating! He is honest and gets to the bottom of the issue without pushing to sell a new unit.
